Travelodge Hotel

The Exeter Travelodge is located at the Sandygate M5 services; along with a Harry Ramsden restaurant (they share the same car park and entrance), M&S Simply Food and a MOTO service area with the usual fast food, WHSmith, fuel, etc. Location was fantastic as was working in the nearby Sowton Industrial Estate and easy to navigate back from the nearby towns (eg. If you can get a discounted rate (ours was £25 for a room) this is good value. It is basic but clean and adequate. Although breakfast is not included, there is a Marks and Spencer's services next door so bringing back hot coffee and croissants to your room is easy and very tasty!

We stayed here en-route to Cornwall for a night. As with all Travel Lodges, the accomodation was basic but everything that you required - i.e. car park, bed, TV, bathroom. Arrived around 10.30 pm, the lodge was still serviced and very friendly and helpful staff. Everything was clean and functioning, bed was comfortable, and all for £29. Hotel is located by services just off M5. Probably not ideal for city centre unless driving. Not somewhere that you would go for a destination in itself, but ideal for a stop-over whilst travelling.... more
