VIP Eden Aparthotel

Very good hotel. I spent 5 days with my husband and it was in a perfect location, good staff service and the kitchen in the room was very useful. It was august, very very hot, and we use often the swimming-pool, before and after going out for sight-seeing. I recommend this hotel, I can not say anything bad. If I come back to Lisbon, I will repeat.

Our family of two adult children and two parents found the apartment set up here ideal, and a bargain compared to booking two rooms as we did elsewhere in Portugal. The suite is compact but well-designed to give shelf space and sitting space, good lighting, the best black-out curtains I have ever seen, and a remarkably quiet room in light of the urban location. I enjoyed my stay at the Eden. The exterior of the hotel is more interesting than the interior (having been an art deco theater), but the rooms seem fairly spacious and are decorated nicely enough. The staff was friendly and helpful, and the hotel was very conveniently located.

First the bad part: They do have a problem with smells from the sewers, and the bar was closed when I was there in the low season (but they did open it so I could buy a beer). Besides that I can't say much bad about this hotel. Especially considered the location and the price. I have stayed at 3 other hotels in Lisbon. THe exterior Art Deco architecture has won awards. The location is wonderful. The apartments are spacious enough and are nicely decorated -- not fine, but better than average. It is nice to have the mini kitchenette, if just for drinks. Modern clean bath. Friendly, helpful staff. The rooftop breakfast area has a beautiful view, a bar, and a pool. Request a view. We would stay here again.

You really can't beat the location. On the plus side we got a good deal on the room price, having a kitchenette to prepare breakfast/chill beer, room was v clean and faced onto the courtyard of the gallery next door and so was very quiet. Although the rooftop pool was a bonus we couldn't get near it because there was a large group of aircrew who were obviously on a couple of days R&R and they took up many of the sunbeds. We stayed at the VIP Eden for one night (11/21/04). We enjoyed the location, and the breathtaking view from the roof. Our studio was, indeed, small; but it seemed huge after two weeks on a cruise ship. The kitchenette seemed to be adequate; but, with just one night, it wasn't worth stocking it. If you like hotels that have nice (maybe 3 star) amenities and a location that is near transportation, 100 feet from a tramway to the Barrio Alto, and near great restaurants, this is the place. This is a very good apart-hotel to stay in! Centrally located with an underground station right in front, the mainline train station a few minutes down the road, a large number of bus-stops, trams-stops etc., a tourism office next to it, plenty of restaurants in the vicinity and within easy reach of all the different sightseeing places. First, the positives. This hotel enjoys a central location close to a host of tourist and business destinations. A subway station is located right in front of the hotel. The view from the rooftop terrace is breathtaking, and the breakfast served there is copious, varied and of high quality. And at least room prices are reasonable. This was my 10th time to Europe, but 1st time to Lisbon. I booked this hotel after reading reviews off this website and my friends and I couldn't have been more pleased. I had read it was a modest hotel in a great location, but was still skeptical because it was about 1/3 the price of other hotels in its neighborhood.
