Dartbridge Inn

Stayed at The Dartbridge Inn for 2 nights over the bank holiday weekend. Was disappointed with the room and as some of the other reviews state, the walls are VERY thin, you can hear everything your neighbours are doing, which was rather annoying while trying to sleep. I didn't believe the reviews until my 1st night there and now I can tell that its true. The bed was an ordinary double bed so it is a bit of a squash for 2 adults. The basis of the establishment is a 200 year old inn. It is a pub, part of the Green King chain. There are ten rooms, which are small and cramped, all seem to have creaky floorboards and thin walls. Also the heating in the upstairs area is ratched up really high, making it uncomfortable when trying to sleep. There is a large restaurant which serves good food, although it is expensive. Stayed here after using a discount voucher so for the reduced price I was happy. Good points Good easy to find location close to Dartmoor and attractions with plenty of parking. The Dartbridge Inn. The name sounds nice, so is the location but the hotel isn't exactly good. The rooms are small ( I had the famous room 1) and the walls are made from cardboard as you can mute the tv and still listen from the room next door. Also the value which allows you to choose between the bath and shower was broken. I pointed this out at the start of the holiday and it was still broken at the end. I stayed at this Inn for 2 nights because it was located close to the Ashburton Cookery School which my partner attended and thoroughly enjoyed. The staff were pleasant on checking in and out, and the bar staff and waiting staff at breakfast were also amiable. The room we were given was small and basic, and I have to agree with the previous review about the dim lighting. The Dartbridge Inn is located just off the A38 exit for Buckfast, turning (if coming from Exeter) into the Totnes Road. Beware when getting out of the Inn, especially if you turn right into Buckfast, as the pub is on a blind corner and traffic travels quite fast. This is a typical inn, a pub with restaurant, frequented by many locals, with ten bedrooms at the top.
