2 Star Hotel with a 5 star website
The hotel has obviously undergone recent renovations including its flashy website with bedroom pictures of white washed beach themed rooms but the reality is quite different sadly. Filthy carpets, matresses that are like old car wash sponges, various furnishings that look like they were collected from the local car boot and they stick a freeview lcd tv on the wall and hope it will make it all better. Sadly at London style rates it doesnt. Ive seen other people complaining about the reception staff and our experience was no better. My... more
A grubby little wannabe of a hotel
I researched many hotels in the Falmouth area and this one came up trumps. Having spent a night there I realise how badly I was duped by the promotional material. We arrived an hour too early for check-in... no problem, we wanted lunch anyway, which I must say was good although a little pricey. The room still wasn't ready and we were told to come back at 2, so after a wander round town I returned at 2.15 to be told I was again too early... rooms were not guaranteed until 3pm ( so why did the letter of confirmation say 2pm?) The room... more
Wonderful Cornwall Hotels in Falmouth Hotel & Spa
Since its revamp, this hotel has improved so much since my stay 2 years ago - stunning inside and out, can't beat the location and the spa is to die for. I stayed for a long weekend with my girlfriend and we loved it. Also the foot is amazing. We have stayed in many hotels in Cornwall but this is our favourite so far. Highly recommend and will be back in the summer.
Super hotel, friendly helpful staff
A super long weekend at this beautiful modern seafront hotel. Despite being in the adjacent lodge for the first night, on request, the friendly helpful reception staff moved us into the main hotel with its excellent facilities for the following two nights of our stay. The staff were all friendly, the food was excellent and we would thoroughly recommend this hotel.
Lovely Hotel
We stayed just for one night at in the St Michaels hotel and spa, but wished we'd stayed for more. Our standard room had a king size bed and large flat screen TV, it was both clean and of a reasonable size. Only small down point was the shower pressure could be stronger. We enjoyed the use of the swimming pool, sauna, steam room and especially the Jacuzzi, unfortunately the spa was fully booked so we were unable to have any treatments, so suggest that you book in advance. In the afternoon we walked into the centre of Falmouth which only... more
Great food
Chose this hotel over others after reading the one review on trip advisor! The food was absolutely fabulous and very reasonably priced. Room (single) was modern and facilities were good. Bed v comforatble. Location is great for the beach and many rooms have sea views / glimpses. Health spa well equipped and the gym & steam room particularly good. As a single leisure traveller found the environment comforatble and there were many others travelling alone. If you are playing golf recommend Buddock Vean golf pro who was excellent.
good facilities
Stayed here mid Feb for one night on business and had an enjoyable stay. Big plus points were the swimming pool, sauna etc that gives a chance of welcome refreshment after a long day. The food was excellent, both at dinner and breakfast (I ordered the smoked haddock rather than partake of the usual buffet style full breakfast). Restaurant service at dinner was a little slow - as a lone diner I didn't really need 15 mins to make my menu choice. This I think was due to the inexperience of some of the waiting staff - things... more
Lovely Location
We stayed here just the one night with our son as we were visiting Falmouth Uni', Tremough Campus open day in Penryn. We reserved 2 double adjacent rooms at a cost of £90 and £59 per room, B&B which we thought reasonable. The rooms did overlook some greyish rooftops, but we did not come to sit inside anyway. The tv's were rather small and basic. The rooms were clean and the bedlinen nice and fresh. It could have done with a picture or two as it was quite bare. Bathroom a good size and hairdrier provided, also tea & coffee facilities... more
Four Star Hotel, Two Star Service...
Having taken advantage of a fantastic early booking offer, we were thrilled when it turned out that our 'standard' double room turned out to have a spacious balcony overlooking the gardens and was very comfortable to boot. The problem with this hotel is the service. This hotel could easily boast four stars if the management simply trained (or, more dramatically, replaced) many of their current staff. This may sound harsh but when I say that it feels like a modern, chic hotel (with great facilities) that is run like Fawlty Towers then I... more
never again
i stayed here for one week due to my company sending me to work in cornwall. i have been in here before so i knew what to expect. the hotel has had a revamp? more of a cover over really and lots of the old problems are still there. erratic hot water, no water pressure for showering, heating never on and when it is its not good enough. old dirty carpets in the rooms...........same as a year ago. limited tv channels on miniture portable tv sets........even more limited by the fact that picture constantly dissapears. no mobile phone... more
