My husband and I got married at Pendennis Castle on the 4th August 2006 and we had our reception at this wonderful hotel. Needless to say it was the best day of our lives but the Hotel made it even better. The service was second to none absolute first class! John the duty... more

This is a large, traditional hotel and caters for coach parties as well as those booking independently. We took advantage of an off season dinner, bed and breakfast deal and were pleasantly surprised. The traditionally furnished room was comfortable with great views. The... more

One of the nicest places to stay in Falmouth
We had a ocean view/balcony room in the Best Western and found it to be very presentable and clean. Lovely view of the beach and ocean. St. Michaels Hotel & Spa is a couple of doors down and from at the least the exterior looked nice as well, other than that we did not really see anywhere else locally to the town/beach that looked impressive to stay. The Best Western has multiple car parking lots and many winding corridors of rooms that look the same (if you are booking a large party you may want to request rooms close together). The beach is literally across the street and there is a nice coastal walk from the garden across the Street. Be warned though that unless you want to eat at the hotel (little pricey), one of the other hotels or at an extremely casual beachfront cafe across the street you will have to drive or walk into town (15mins) as there are no pubs or restaurants close by. There were many weddings as mentioned by others but we did not hear excessive noise nor did we have any service problems during meals etc. The Indoor pool is the most impressive we have seen in any English hotel. If you are American it is on a par with a Holiday Inn (other than the pricing!) but in a small English seaside town that is really the best you can expect and this hotel meets that expectation (my English family members thought it was wonderful).
Good stay, will go again.
We stayed for a week and were sad to leave. Rooms: - All the rooms are different sizes and shapes from what i saw whilst the doors were open for house keeping. If you expect your room to be swish and fresh and like new, then you will be dissappointed. They are clean though, comfy bed, Our rooms bathroom was a fine, but demanding replacement soon. Theres heating but no aircon. But you can borrow a fan from reception. Pool/Gym: 5 Stars! Excellent gym, with plenty of equipment. Good size pool which also had jets in a small off area. In another area there were two jacuzzi tubs, and a steam room, and sauna. An area upstairs has beauty treatments and hairdressing. Bar: - Open all day. Has a good day menu, an even better evening menu, and was well staffed- and the staff were very freindly. In one corner, each evening is some entertainment, sometimes music, sometimes childrens entertainer. But you can keep clear of this if you wish. There was also a fine dining restuarant, which we didn't try as the vegetarian menu didn't change and didn't appeal to my companion, but the bar menu was great and had a changing specials everyday. There is also a nice lounge area. Wifi works here, 3 pounds for an hour. The wifi also works in some rooms. Out and about: Cross the (quiet) road and you are on the beach. Its sandy, and patrolled by the RNLI Beach Lifeguards. If you are fit, the town centre is a short walk (15 minutes) away - but that involves a bit of a hill. We were very impressed, and will be back. The only bad points are the rooms could use a little refreshing, and parking can be a problem after 6pm (although there is a public car park opposite with plenty of space and the hotel will pay for your ticket)
A good 3 star hotel
This is our third stay in this hotel and I would still say it's still a good 3 star hotel next to the beach. The only thing we found this time was that the breakfast standard has dropped. It's a buffet style but some food has been left standing too long hence over cooked and chewy. Dinner was still great and the rooms are that of a 3 star unless you upgrade to the sea view balcony rooms. We had no parking problem and walking to town was about 15 mins. Good value for money if you can get the special offers on the web site.
Nothing Special
Stayed at this hotel for 2 nights during March. Our room was small and cramped, though clean. The website for this hotel doesn't reveal just how far away from the centre of town it actually is. It came as quite a shock to realise that we were a good 25 minute stroll from the main centre, which meant having to take the car every time we wanted to go out. Parking within the grounds of the hotel was very hit and miss, sometimes we had to find a space on the road due to lack of spaces. Breakfast was buffet style, but the staff were disorganised and not paticularly friendly. I took advantage of a 'web special' price for the duration of our stay, but do not consider it being especially good value. All in all, would rather stay somewhere closer to the town itself in future.
dissapointing yet again
Stayed for one night only(thank goodness)Room pokey and noisy, shower inadequet and not that clean and the shower room was most difficult to access, luckily neither my husband or myself are that big! The breakfast was disorganised although substantial and the evening dinner was adaquet and well served. The entertainment was first class. I have previously stayed in the hotel and had been dissapointed I mentioned this on booking in the hopes that assurance could be given of improvements, although duly given sadly this was not the case and if anything standards have been allowed to slip further. My only other experience of the Great Western chain was a night at the Tregenna Castle Hotel this also fell very short of expectation. Needless to say I will not be returning to the Falmouth Beach again. On the other hand a recent night spent at the Falmouth Hotel was an absolute pleasure. The rooms were of a different class the food and service excellent and the manager Greg made us all feel like peronal guests
Best value for money
This was the best value for money. We stayed over the Easter period in a family room for the 3 of us. The facilities were excellent (indoor pool, jacuzzi, pool table etc)and they are always doing special deals. We are hoping to go again next month as they are doing a £49 p/p/p/n DBB. Our children always seem to be free as well whenever I ring! You literally walk out of the hotel, cross the road and you're on the beach. Excellent food and choice. Very child friendly(and adult friendly)!
Excellent facilities
Helpful staff, excellent facilities for what is classed as a three star hotel, super sea view from our room. Only downside was the cabaret each night over dinner which is not what we wanted, but as we had only booked b&b we could have dinner elsewhere, should have expected this in the Christmas, New year period. Nice quiet upstairs lounge though.
Uninterested staff, shabby decore
My partner and I stayed at this hotel for 3 nights at the end of September at a cost of £115.50 per night B&B (discounted rate). At this price we were expecting something more. Our room was large but very basic and drab and the bathroom, though also large, was in much need of modernisation. The side of the bath had a huge crack and the shower (over the bath) was a nothing more than a dribble. Also, the fan in the bathroom was increadibly loud and kept us awake throughout the first night afterwhich we found the emergency cord and we're able to turn it off. The reception staff were unhelpful and far more interested in chatting to each other than check anyone in. The bar staff were also useless and even when the bar was empty it took at least 20mins to get served! There was good spread at breakfast but again, although the were plenty of staff milling about, getting anyone to bring you coffee or toast was an up hill struggle. We ate in the restaurant on one night and the food was very good, but we had to wait 40 mins between our starter and our main course. There is no wifi connection in the hotel. They do have 1 pc in a corridor with internet access butv you have to pay to use this service. This hotel is OK. Its clean and in a nice location. However, for the price I imagine you must be able to find something nicer locally.
Excellent - Time after Time
This hotel is the best that my daugther and I have ever stayed at. We come back here time after time. The food is excellent, the staff very professional, and for three star accommodation - it really deserves a 4. There is plenty to do and it has a homely feel, with facilities which cater for the whole family. Definately a place to visit, and the stunning position on the sea front with pale sand and clean bathing water guarantees endless hours of fun! Thank you!
Nice 3-star hotel
Great tourist-class hotel, with ongoing improvements for many years. Top-notch health club, with swimming pool in midst of major upgrade. Rooms not bad, again the hotel always seem to be refurbishing. Wonderful sea-front location, you should enjoy it.
