The Glendorgal is hideously overpriced and offers basic Travel Inn style accommodation at prices which should be reserved for genuinely luxurious hotels. It is very restrictive in terms of breakfast choice, room facilities, pool opening times and breakfast serving times (they stop serving at 9.30).
Our room had stained carpets and a shower with constantly changing temperatures, when we complained about this we were told nothing could be done, only to overhear the staff member in question then offer the people behind us an £80 refund.
The Glendorgal charges a very dishonest price and manages to get away with it because of the general standard of accommodation in the Newquay area.
Don't waste your money.

We would have been better staying at home in Switzerland. Of course we enjoyed the fantastic view and the friendly staff - our room overlooked the sea (it also overlooked a filthy restaurant roof, littered with cigarette butts!) The noise and the smell coming from the kitchen ventilation system was seriously obnoxious (not possible to have a window open when the kitchen was operating). As far as the restaurant was concerned, the full English breakfast was OK but the continental offering was very poor value for money. By the way, not being able to sit down to dinner until after 8pm is way too late for some guests.
The final straw was the fire alarm which went off 4 times during our 2 week stay, although it must be said that the last time at 4.45am turned out to be the real thing!
