Decided on Metropole Hotel having stayed there on previous occasions. On this occasion to celebrate our 53rd wedding anniversary -wonderful location ....staff .... courteous and helpful ...room fine ... food both breakfast and dinner menus varied and excellent ...car parking a bonus ... but having advised hotel on booking the reservation by phone that our reason for the 3 day break was to celebrate our 53rd wedding anniversary and having mentioned it again to reception on our arrival ...we thought that there might have been some small recognition of that ...was there ... no...certainly not ... would a small bunch of flowers in the room or a card stretched the finances? ... such a small gesture would have made our stay more enjoyable...a small thought ...and now maybe a lesson to managment on customer relations.... however no doubt we shall return.

We went too this hotel because it had been reccommended to us
when we arrived the staff where very helpful and the check in was quick and smooth.
our rooms where huge with so much space
we got the yellow room and our friends who we travelled with got the blue room but that was the only difference between the two, the views from our rooms where fantastic right over the sea and harbour(great). the location was superb with only a two min walk into the village where there are great pubs and restaurants not to mention rick steins.
breakfast at the hotel was fantastic with again stunning views.
very good value for money and we had a great weekend thankyou
see you again next year.

Over priced, is in need of a major refurb, cracked tiles, ripped wall paper, shabby, grubby and a miserable place to stay in such a beautiful little town. Everything that is wrong with the UK service industry is wrapped up in this failing hotel. Avoid like the plague!

Having stayed at the metrolpole before and found the Hotel Staff friendly and helpful, the room spacious and cosy and the food fantastic i am always concerned that they may not be able to live up to the provious high standards - I needn't have been concerned, this visit was better than ever before. the chef in particular produces some of the best food i have ever tasted. I heard numerous other diners say 'dvine' when asked whether everything was alright. A sentiment I agreed with at every meal.
the winter break deal of £99 per room for Dinner bed & breakfast is fantastic value. less that £50 each!
Highly recommended!
