"We believe that the Quality Hotel Plymouth is one of the best hotels in the City for both quality and value"
This is the offical wbsite and it is quite correct if you anjoy a gulag style welcome, low grade staff, cold plates for hot food; really shabby furnishingds and furniture, rip off breakfast [make youur own team, and toast witha knackered ooatsrer, pay before you eat]. If you want a poor quality hotel [if you enjoy gardening why not pull up some weeds in the terrace whilst waiting interminably for your massacred club sandwich to arrive?] with little evidence of any management this just for you.
Sop sadto see plymouth's once-premier hotel in a fantacstric location crubl.ing - litterally. I guess they're waiting for consent to demolish and build flats

  • Advice: Find somewhere else - atent would be better

A very disappointing hotel. Shabby decor in rooms and general areas. WiFi only available in reception at a heavy cost. Coffee not available from bar after 10.30pm and staff went out of their way to avoid extra work. Never saw any Manager. The only selling point is the view.

This hotel has the best views of Plymouth sound and is opposite the Hoe. Close to the swimming pool, the Citadel and the Harbour its position is great.
However be warned the hotel is a poor 3 star or more like a 2 star just. Old furniture with scatches and bits missing in the bedroom, public areas and dinning room. The breakfast is very poor, nobody supervising and consequently, when eggs or backon or whatever, runs out it take for ever to replenish it even at peak time. Try getting tea/coffee and you could have a long wait as staff serve it but there is so few staff you cant get service at all. Toast is made yourself and this causes queues as there is just one machine and the bread is the longlife type, you can tast the additatives and its waffer thin. The mushrooms are tinned and taste it to. The chances of getting marmalade is not good, they had ran out of the stuff for 4 days of our 6 day stay . You can wait at the entrance door to the dinning room to be seated as advised to do by the notice, but no staff show, for in some cases a full 5 minutes and you just end up walking through to any table and nobody cares.
Staff were not helpfull in reception or generally in the breakfast area and you just got the impression these was no supervision and nobody bothered anyway.
The bar closed at 11 am to residents unless you charged it to you room no cash accepted unless it was the exact amount????Why????
My wife daughter and I stayed a full 6 nights. I have rated the hotel at 4 but this is only because of the stunning views.....the rest is only worth a 1 or 2.
I would not use the hotel again.
