My friends and I stayed at the Club...
8 / 10
Jun 2008, Mr MR S Mcint Mr S Mcintyre

My friends and I stayed at the Club Anastasia this June and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. There was 9 of us all together, and we didnt expect to be able to please everyone, but was pleasantly surprised with our first time in Turkey.
Hotel was clean and tidy, and we had our sheets and towels changed regularly. The staff were lovely and didnt hassle us as much as we'd been warned they might! Ozzy was especially helpful, teaching us bits of Turkish, so Merharba to him!
We did loads of trips that we booked with UNCLE JOHNS Tours, (LEFT OUT THE HOTEL,THEN RIGHT), all of them really good value for money. Jeep Safari was the most fun any of us had had in years (and we're not a quiet bunch!), and our driver Tarzan made the day! Also went Diving and White-water Rafting, both experiences not to be missed! We booked a boat trip with OSCAR AND SPIKEY NOSTADAMUS agency, they were just after UNCLE JOHNS on the same street and nabbed us on our first night, but the transfer didnt come to get us so UNCLE JOHNS sent us on his boat instead!
We ate in the town most nights, but the hotel food was pretty good, and cheap too. Local resturants were a bit hassly, but the hotel staff said its because the season is not very busy this year and everyone is competing for the same business. We ate at Anfi Restaurant a few times, good fry ups and lovely steaks in the evening. Staff were so friendly and they couldnt do enough for us, even when we just stopped in for a drink!
We liked Icmeler market better than Marmaris as it was open air, so not so hot, and the beach there was also much nicer. All in all though, 8 ouf the 9 of us said we'd stay at the Club Anastasia again, so thats pretty positive! Hope this review helps, happy holidays!

Fantastic appartments. Cannot fault....

Jun 2008, Miss K Sloan

Fantastic appartments. Cannot fault. All staff were very welcoming and friendly. Food in restaurant and at the pool was excellent. Cannot wait to return next year. Jewellery shop is amazing, have your jewellery cleaned as is better than new, also have some beautiful pieces to offer at good prices. The pre-paid card is worth buying, much easier than taking money to pool. pool is very cold but refreshing.. EXCELLENT. EXCELLENT. EXCELLENT.

What can i say other than this was...

May 2008, Miss Ka Griffiths

What can i say other than this was the best holiday ever we all loved it especially the kids, the lads at the Havana Bar made our holiday it was my sons 8th birthday and i asked for a cake Ersin got a lovely chocolate cake and all the lads came over with sparklers and sang happy birthday to him it was fantastic.Ersin,Yetis,Sinan and all the other lads and everyone at the Havana bar" THANK YOU SO MUCH".The hotel is fantasic plenty for the kids to do (and the grown ups) the food at the Bella blue is delicious not to keen on the waiters there though a bit grumpy. The rooms are spotlessly clean and cleaned everyday.Nothing is to much trouble at this hotel cant wait to go next year . Recomend this hotel for families they love the kids,my son Hari (age 2) loved it he has got long blonde curly hair and they loved him. We went to turtle beach one day i dont recomend it if you have young kids 2 hours to get there on a boat Hari was very bored they say you will have a sunbed on top deck we didnt we were stuck inside like a tin of sardines the food was rubbish to chicken burger a bit of pasta dry bread and salad the beach is beautiful although you only get an hour there. That was the only bad bit of the holiday but we know for next time.Thank you all very much see you next year. xxxxxx

Apr 2008, Hm Malone

I went to this resort with my mum and dad and one of my friends and it was one of the most amazing holidays i have been on :)
We were always entertained with shows and all the bar staff were great and so friendly and helpful, and the weather was great at that time of year too,if you are one of them people that love the hot weather this is great for you at the time of year i went (end of july beggining of august). There is also a hairdressers and nail bar,but to be honest wasnt the best :(.the rooms were very nice and very clean, and spacies,we also went on a boat ride on our last day and that was also great, and the sea was amazing and so clear unlike the beaches in marmaris which were not so great, but the sea was fantastic when u got out there, and the boat owners were very nice too.
This was a great holiday and who ever is thinking of booking DO you will have a fantastic time :)

This is a fantastic hotel, the staff are very friendly and helpfull they make you feel very welcome and relaxed. It has everything you need for both you and your kids, from entertainment, food and drink, pampering and just having fun. You can just relax take in the sun and let all your worries disapear, its the going home at the end of your holiday that you dont want to do. Im going back there again this year with more people as they want to experiance this for themselves. It is a great holiday for families, couples and with your mates it ticks all the boxes and its not exspencive. I cant wait to go back. A+.

I went to Anastasia for a last minute...
9 / 10
Dec 2007, Ms R HARWOOD

1 reader found this review helpful

I went to Anastasia for a last minute girly holiday in September. We booked it as it was cheap and the reviews seemed good. We weren't expecting it to be half as good as it turned out to be!!! What a fantastic surprise, the rooms are spotless and modern and the maids did a fantastic job of clearing up our mess everyday and folding the towels into weird and wonderful shapes, one day we even came back to find petals all over our beds!!!
The bar was also fantastic, loved the waiters, especially Yetis, Volkan, Ersin and the gang, they kept us entertained the whole time and were so friendly. One night they even took us to a club down by the beach when they finished working!!! Another great guy there is Omar, owns the tattoo parlour within the hotel! I got a tattoo done there, no scabbed over, no blood, nothing!! very professional!! It's true that his prices are higher than standards in Marmaris, but still reasonable and a lot cheaper than at home, but my friend got a tattoo done somewhere close to the hotel as she was thinking Omar's price was really high (in fact it wasn't) but it's faded just after a couple of weeks, so you should be very careful when you make a decision!! I'd definitely recommend Omar's parlour which is also very clean, even spotless and hygienic!
The music round the pool in the daytime can be pretty loud, so I'd recommend this for young groups and not necessarily older couples. The only drawback was some of the entertainment, every day around the pool as some of the entertainment crew sang 'the court of king caractacus' which, by the end of the week absolutely drove us mad. Barbecue night was brilliant though.
I have pretty high standards when it comes to hotels and I really wasn't expecting much, but I honestly can't fault it. We booked through First Choice and I can't get over how cheap it was, for what we got it was absolutely brilliant.
Thoroughly recommend Anastasia.

Rooms were fine, cleaned every day....
7 / 10
Oct 2007, Mrs K Black

Rooms were fine, cleaned every day. Pools were very clean & plenty of room for our 16 month old son to run about.
VERY loud music all day around pool, which was a bit annoying when you were trying to relax. Staff friendly enough - friendlier if you were under 25 & even more so if you were females!!
Drinks are expensive compared to other restaurants nearby & I had to send mine back a few times as I couldn't taste the alcohol & there was no fizz in the juice!!
Food was excellent in the Bella Blu & the staff were VERY friendly & made huge fuss of our son & kept him entertained which was great.
The beach & resort centre was a good 15/20 mins walk - which was fine once you knew where you were going, & there was always the dolmus or taxi which was just 8 lira from the harbour.
I would recommend these apartments to anyone though as we had a good holiday there.

What can I say... fantastic holiday....
9 / 10
Oct 2007, Mrs K Wood

What can I say... fantastic holiday. Anastasia hotel is excellent, with all the staff making sure everyone had a great time around the pool day and night, maids making sure your room was clean and always a smile from reception staff.
The Havana boys work very, very hard, just as all the staff do. Only one problem we found the that the walls were very thin, I could hear next door going to the toilet! Also no air con in the bedroom, with the heat this made it difficult to sleep comfortably at night.
The bella-blu restaurant was lovely and when we come back would certainly consider going half board. This was our first time in Turkey and we took in the Turkish bath, jeep safari, lazy day boat trip and the water park all brilliant and with 2 children 8 and 11 this kept them happy breaking up the holiday with the days out.
The tattooist in the Anastasia is very good, however we ventured out and found one just by the hotel, my husband and I came back with wonderful tattoos, and they were much cheaper. It is much better to take sterling especially if you like to shop and you may even get a better exchange rate out there instead of here.
Only problem is no one likes to take debit or credit cards so take plenty of money, I had to take a bus to the harbour to a cash point to get more money! Please don't barter for something if you do not intend to buy it. They don't like you doing this and one shopkeeper got very rude and irate that we said no and walked away after he agreed to the price we would pay, it certainly was a learning curve for us.
All want to go back now, brilliant hotel, weather and people and most of all to the Anastasia staff keep it up and ask for a big pay rise you deserve it... see you soon x

This was our first time in Turkey and...
10 / 10
Sep 2007, kittens

1 reader found this review helpful

This was our first time in Turkey and we were welcomed with open arms. Before I go down the trail of lavish praise, here are our learning mishaps and well worth advice.
1) TAKE THE POUND WITH YOU. The locals prefer it but they do take lira as well. We took lira but less of it thinking more to the pound. So many great deals out in Turkey. Because of this missed out on the Turkish baths (around 16 pounds and so worth it) a lady we met said you would not believe the amount of dirt that comes off you. Her skin looked really buffed and ready for the sun.
2) CLUB CARD - HAVE ONE. You can get this from reception and you get 10% extra for every 50 pound you put on card. Well worth it especially when you lazing round the pool, you don’t need to bring money down and worry about it when you go for that refreshing dip. Bit of advice though, always keep your last receipt of whats left on the card; they were having computer problems one night and the first reading said there was nothing left on the card. Luckily we still had our receipt from about 10 minutes prior to show what was left on it. The cards are like ‘pay as you go’ phone cards so its not difficult but a word of warning run your card down towards end of stay as what’s left on the card at the end of your stay you will lose.( you can't get the money back in cash).
3) SUPERMARKET. Venture out a short journey and you will save at least 50% money and have a wider choice. Turn left out of the restaurant part of the hotel and right at the first set of traffic lights and left at end of that road. On the right hand side past cash and carry you will find KIPPASUPERMARKET ( I know it sounds far but it really isn’t, about 10 minute walk and well worth it). Big water bottles around 1 lira (2 lira at the supermarket hotel), cigarettes lots cheaper and for the ladies (tampons more than 4 lira cheaper). We had a zero price lunch at Kippa - we used the try before you buy technique at the counters and came away full! They have clothes etc but word to wise no sun lotion there.
4) JEWELLERS ON SITE. Get your jewellery cleaned free of charge - fab. We and many others did this; our wedding rings were brought back to new and shiny. Ricco is so friendly and will go out of his way to help you. The jewellery where we looked was truly beautiful and so different to back home. The gold we saw started from 14 carat (wish I took more money with me now).
5) EXCURSIONS. We only did the Turkish night just down the road past the traffic lights on the right about 5 minute walk. Food not up to much, the best part of the night had to be the male belly dancer - amazing. Although the reps do a Turkish bath sauna, the hotel has its own as well as hairdressers and a tattooist. I really do wish I had had the Turkish bath. Looking around you could see who had had one and who didn't. It really prepares your skin for a lovely tan and helps prolong the tans as well. (Never mind, next time definitely). The Havana at day or night is great. They keep you entertained from all ages. The Havana guys were great at bringing people out of themselves. After all, what are you on holiday for but to unwind and have a good time. Most of the people we talked to, actually thought the entertainment at the hotel was better than the reps nights out.

6) ABOUT THE HOTEL WHEN WE WENT. Between 7 and 9pm in the orange bar the drinks are buy 1 get 1 free, between 9 and 10pm at the Havana bar the drinks are buy 1 get 1 free, and around the poolside in the afternoon, you guessed it, BUY 1 GET 1 FREE! Whether you are in the Belle restaurant, Havana or the Orange bar or even the jewellers shop, the staff are really friendly. Chat to them, they are your real key to getting the best out of where you are staying. They will go out of their way to help you and can give you information on where’s best to go and all information you need. All the staff are really friendly and know how to get you all having fun, there is a photographer on site daily. The way I see it is, it don’t cost for him to take the shots so make the most of it - if he shoots a shot or two you can look at the shots when developed then take it or leave it.
7) OUT AND ABOUT. Marmaris beach isn’t too far about 15 minutes walk to the front. On the left is the marina and on the right is the beach with many places to eat drink and be merry. Eating out is really cheap - breakfast can be bought for 90p (full english). There are many varieties to choose from, Marmaris is quite commercial with Indians, Chinese, MacDonald’s and steak houses near the marina. There’s more fish menus (be prepared though being quite commercial chips seem to be everywhere) I asked for something Turkish style to try, wasn’t interested in chips, and they were only too happy to cook up something for me. (I don’t go abroad to eat chips and full English breakfast but that’s just me). One night we went down to what I call the front to a place called Natalie’s – fantastic, had a steak and it was massive and only 19 lira. This was steak in a sauce served with vegetables and mushrooms. I had a Turkish bread and meze for starters, it was gorgeous well worth the money. Again there are plenty of restaurants on the front and the drinks are cheaper, especially the cocktails at around 7 to 8 lira compared to 11 50 lira back at the hotel.
Back to the hotel - this is a great base to explore with the markets not far at all and several in the walking area too. The beach, the marina, jewellery stores, and to top it off taxis rank very close by but if you feel a little uncomfortable going up to them the hotel is only too happy to call one for you. Ichemeler is not to far from the front, you can walk it or you can get a boat taxi to take you there if it’s too hot to walk.
September definitely a good time to come.
We want to come back to turkey there’s so much more to explore, would definitely consider using Anastasia again. What else is there to say apart from thank you Anastasias and give the staff a big pay rise?

We actually spent most of our holiday...
10 / 10
Sep 2007, Miss C Clements

We actually spent most of our holiday at Club Anastasia by default really, we were staying at the Mehtap which is on the beach front of Marmaris and was appalling, luckily we had family staying at Club Anastasia, or our week in Marmaris would have been ruined.
This was my 2nd time to Marmaris and I think it is a wonderful holiday destination, with so many wonderful things to see and buy.
Club Anastasia was absolutely wonderful, although it is a bit further back from the main resort and the marina, but to be honest apart from say some shopping and organised trips you really wouldn't need to leave Anastasia as they have everything you could wish for there.
But if you need to get down to the resort centre etc then there is a taxi rank just on the opposite side of the road to the hotel, one word of advice though I always asked the cost to my destination before I got in the taxis as the cost did vary by a couple of Lira each time to exactly the same place.
The rooms at Club Anastasia were so clean, the cleaners seemed to be on site from early morning until the evening, they cleaned every day and nothing seemed too much trouble, and most days the clean towels were laid out in love heart shapes and fans with petals laid on them ahh nice, at the Mehtap we didn't even get towels on our arrival and then we had to ask for them. Club Anastasia rooms when booked include air conditioning, so there is not another hidden cost when you arrive, which makes a nice change.
There are two pools at Anastasia and a very shallow baby pool which was covered to give shade to the children, the large pool was lit up on an evening with floating displays which was a nice touch, everywhere on site just seemed so clean it was great. Another nice touch I thought were the leather beanbags around the smaller pool, which made a nice change from the normal sun beds, and were really comfy. The pool areas were cleaned thoroughly every evening and all the sun beds are stored away to make room for the tables and chairs for the evening’s entertainment.
Club Anastasia has entertainment on every night which staying for the week was fine as it was different every night, but I would imagine that you would need to have a change if you stay for two weeks, but even if you do stay for two weeks do not miss the BBQ/Turkish night which is on a Friday and costs £10 for all you can eat, the food provided for this occasion was wonderful and plentiful.
The entertainment was also fantastic and worth every penny, each night there is happy hour from 7pm until 9pm in the Orange Bar and from 9pm until 10pm in the Havana Bar both having a buy one get one free offer, not sure if this extends to the Fish Bowl which costs around 80 Lira but plenty of cocktail for about 8-10 people, I always had the Barman’s Special cocktail which was very alcoholic but nice.
There is a Turkish Bath and massage facilities available and sweet talking Sonny will be around to take your bookings, he is a lovely bloke and even after he had our money and we had had the Turkish Bath etc he always stopped to have a chat with us round the pool every day we were there, and even on our last night when he wasn't working he took the time to come and say goodbye, just remember if you have never had the Turkish Bath experience before then get it booked as soon as you can, because it will help your tan last longer.
All the staff at Club Anastasia were just as friendly as Sonny and all the Havana bar staff got involved in the evenings and the day’s entertainment on and off the stage, the Turkish barmen had us in stitches most evenings. There was a club rep saying about the Turkish men and that was “True love I seek for just one week, of course I’ll keep in touch, Nexxt!”
The wonderful and entertaining club reps were there every day holding kids clubs and organising pool games, please believe me there was nothing cheesy or 18-30’s style to any of this it was all good fun and very well organised and safely done, and I am sure by next year I will have definitely mastered the moves to The Court of King Caractacus.
Also you don’t have any need to carry money around with you at Anastasia as you put money on a club card and use this at the Clubs bars and restaurant, when you order you are given a receipt to sign that shows the amount you are about to spend and your total credit left, which was great not having to worry about having cash on you all the time.
I really don’t know what else I can tell you about Club Anastasia other than if you want a good week and a great place to stay then this is it, I intend to book for two weeks next August without any hesitation at all, because I know I will have a great holiday experience there.
As a whole I actually found that this year we did not get as much hassle in Marmaris as we had done last year by shop traders and restaurant workers, but this is apparently due to new Government rules brought in June of this year, when you look around you will see CCTV cameras outside most shops and bars etc, if traders are caught trying to pull or hassle people into their shop/bar etc then they will receive fines and can be closed down for business for days even weeks, but if they caught more than I think four or five times they can actually lose their license.

Anyone taking their first trip to Marmaris don’t forget to go to Icmeler market on a Wednesday (early) there is some great gear to buy and so much haggling to be done, the 1st time I went I handed a trader a £10 note, he threw it on the floor wiped the floor with it a couple of times then picked it up and kissed it, apparently this is a ritual as I was his 1st customer of the day, and there was I thinking he was being rude. Another tip if you are going for the 1st time take more English money than Lira as everywhere seemed to want good old sterling, although take plenty of £10 notes as that is all they seemed to trade with.
All in all Marmaris is great and you will love it if you get the accommodation right.

Anyone thinking of going on holiday...
10 / 10
Sep 2007, Miss K Kumi

Anyone thinking of going on holiday should definitely go to Club Anastasia.
It’s my best holiday ever. The bar staff at the Havana bar are amazing and they are so helpful and kind. I went with my mum and my nan and was on my own as I’m the youngest at 15, but the waiters helped me have the best holiday ever. I am already saving to go again next summer.
I had my nails done at the hairdressers and it was great quality and the staff at Bella blu are so funny and happy.
