Omar Apartments

Well where do I start! I have never bothered writing a review before but after reading reviews on all holidays I book recently thought it was only fair to try and help other travellers.
The Omar apartments are large spacious apartments which are kept very clean we did have an ant problem but the housekeeper came straight away and resolved it.
There was just myself and my boyfriend travelled before the schools broke up, the apartments are set just across the small road to the beach which if you expect sand you will be dissappointed it is a very typical of what I have seen in Turkey shingle beach. The pool at the apartments is small but adequate as there are only 27 apartments. We never had to put towels down or fight for a sunbed. The restuarant at the Omar was great the food reasonable and tasty although the english breakfast was neither good nor cheap. The snacks were great and they would serve you round the pool (you must try the chicken sandwich chicken breast in a roll with chips and salad 6 lire works out at £3 I lived of it) Also they would serve you on the beach opposite. The staff are great they cannot do enough for you and I have never been on a holiday where the restaurant staff have been so friendly. They really were lovely not pushy at all. And although the signs say you must not bring your own drink round the pool everybody did. There is a very small shop just by the entrance and it was much cheaper buying drinks from there. Nobody got told off.
Torba well! There is very little there a few resturants and little dingy shops. A large area of 5 star all inclusive hotels on the only bit of sandybeach, which does have water sports available. There is a small harbour area or a boat park.
Bodrum is 10 minutes away on the bus which costs 2 lire each each way this works out bout £1. It really is not a problem buses run all through the night and we never had to wait more than 10 minutes there is loads to see at Bodrum and loads of shops and Bar Street, if you get bored of Bodrum Gumbet is the same distance from Bodrum to Torba and well worth a visit. I really would not bother with Taxis as they are quite dear and the buses are fine.
I had a very relaxing holiday in torba and if you want just beach and pool and peace and quiet during the day with entertainment a bus ride away it is fine but if you want it all on the doorstep this is not the place to go. There is an internet shop in Torba and somewhere to book trips which is alot cheaper than booking with your tour operator.
If I could take the apartments and the staff everywhere I went I would use them again and again. But dont think I would do Torba again although I am sure loads who like going to the same place again and again would return.
