Soleado Hotel

Stayed for 5 days in this hotel and found it excellent value for money. The room was great serviced daily spotless clean and Roberto and his family are very friendly.They are very helpful if you require any local information.The location is just a short stroll from the main street of the town itself.The brewakfasts were a bit limited but fine.Overall would have no hesitation in recomending this hotel for anyone travelling to taormina.

Spent two nights at the Soleado and found it to be very pleasant. Roberto (the owner/manager) was very helpful at all times, the room was clean and the location was good.Didn't spend any time around the hotel during the day and didn't go in the pool but would've done happily if we'd had more time there. Only negative comment would be on the thickness of the walls. Our neighbour suffered from a pretty bad smoker's cough which we were made fully aware of! All-in-all though; a good stay.

We have just returned from the Soleado and had to write a review to tell everyone what a pleasesant experience we had. Its is Great Value and the family run hotel is clean and staff very friendly. The rooms are clean and of a good size with all rooms having a view of the pool. We had a deluxe room which had a massive balcony and view of the sea (in the distance). This hotel has an extremely good location, only ten minutes from main street Corso Umberto. The room was nice and clean with all necessary facilities including air condition and some sat tv channels. Our room also had an excellent view on the sea. We could park the car at the hotel during our 7 nights stay for some extra fee. Booked at the last moment while in another town in Sicily. Stayed there for 6 days and loved every one of them...it turned out to be the best decision. Even though I was there a year ago...I still had to write a positive review...simply because the staff and hotel deserves it. Family run and owned...they were the most kind and warm hosts you could hope for. They take pride in their property and their guests. We stayed at this lovely hotel for 8 days at the end of July and can honestly recommend it.Roberto and his staff were always so very friendly and helpful in every way.Our Room was basic but very clean with a good sized balcony overlooking a pretty pool area with sunbeds and parasols.The pool was very clean and suited our daughter aged 7 as it didn't have a deep end.There was lots of greenery and pretty flowering plants aswell as lemon trees all around the hotel /pool area.Our room was cleaned daily. We chose the hotel because of the nice pictures and reviews on booking.com and because they have a pool. When we got there we were a bit disappointed - pool depth was 90 cm, there was no shampoo/shower gel and the room was the lousiest during our 2 weeks stay in sicily (and the most expensive one). I found the breakfast skimpy. When we left we had an unpleasant incident. None of our credit cards worked. Neither did the credit cards of other people that were waiting behind us. Just returned from two fantastic weeks at Soleado. This is a truly excellent hotel - deserves more than two stars. Roberto and family are warm and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble (e.g. finding best taxi deal for return to airport, carrying luggage, booking restaurants etc.) Hotel is 10-15 minutes from main street so just far enough to be quiet and peaceful but an easy stroll each evening. The location of Soleado is perfect, as it is a 5-10 minute walk from the hotel to Taormina's main street, and a 5 minute walk to the cable car for the beach, which drops you at the beach in 2 mins. The staff are very friendly, and the owner speaks good English and is very helpful. Rooms are basic, with minimal furniture & Italian TV channels, but they are spacious and clean and have a balcony & air con. My wife and I have just returned from a weeks break in Taormina and feel compelled to write and positively review the Hotel Soleado and its owner Roberto. Whilst the hotel is basic, if all you want is a place to sleep and relax then it would be hard to go past this hotel. Very centrally situated for Taormina town (a 5 minute walk down a slight slope), the views from the hotel are fabulous and worth the accommodation costs on their own.
