Amazing views - great local village
from ginggingsma
Whilst this hotel is a little out of the way, the views are incredible and the staff at the hotel were great, very friendly and helpful. There is an hourly bus service (public bus) from right outside the hotel so you aren't that cut off and the tickets are only 1 Euro. The alternative is to hire a car or a scooter (as we did although my boyfriend is a very experienced motorcyclist). Getting around the Peninsula can be tricky if you're relying on public transport and the arranged trips are very expensive. The Amalfi Coast road is not as bad...

Grand hotel, Gods waiting room
from A TripAdvisor Member
The hotel itself was very clean, and "shabby chic", but we were very disappointed by the locality. We were led to believe that it was situated in Massa Lubrense which is nearer the coast, but it was actually a long way inland, in the tiny village of Sant Agata. The views from the hotel were lovely, but it was very dificult to get anywhere without a car, ( and the roads are hair raising) or without using the local bus. The last of which run back from Sorrento by 10p.m. No late evenings strolling around the town. Local taxi's were very...

Fantastic Stay
from A TripAdvisor Member
Our Stay at the Due Golfi turned out to be fasntastic from all point of view. The room we had, although with a small bathroom, was a sew-view and the breathtaking view was unbelievable. The room was kept clean and tidy to perfection, whilst the reception area personnel were all very nice and extremely helpful. We were on a half-board basis and the food was excellent. The transport system is very good, with all buses going to Sorrento centre passing and stopping exactly in front of hotel main entrance. After dinner you can stroll to...

Good basic choice
from A TripAdvisor Member
Stayed here for a week in April. It's a basic hotel with "no frills" rooms. All staff very pleasant and helpul. Has a small pool and a tennis court and views that money can't buy (outstanding - Sorrento, Naples and Vesuvius). Although not in walking distance of Sorrento, we found that the location was perfect for our needs. It was a great base to explore the local area and the village was quaint with a great cake shop! We had a car but the buses appeared fairly frequent. In short, a good budget option.

Went to Sorrento for the first time last year and got a great deal (hotel allocated on arrival). Couldn't have been a better location, bang in the centre of Sorrento, however food was awful. That didn't matter however as we had got such a cheap holiday and could afford to eat out. Decided to try our luck again this year and opted for same offer. On arrival at Naples airport were told by travel rep that we were really lucky and had been up graded to four star. Four hours transfer later arrived at hotel and were delighted that in...

Had to get out before unpacking !!
from mikethrupp
On entering the Due Golfi our first impressions were that the hotel had a faded , tired appearance. This was further reinforced as we proceeded to our room ( overlooking a busy and noisy crossroads ) along drab corridors over carpets onto which various substances ? had been spilt. The lift ( I don't recall ever having been in a smaller one ) had been vandalised with graffiti and it looked as though somebody had punched the ceiling , breaking the glass in one corner and raising it off its mounting . Our room was lacking in any form...

Lovely hotel

Just back from a week's stay at the Grand Hotel Due Golfi in the hills above Sorrento. This is a lovely hotel; spotlessly clean, very friendly and helpful staff, food absolutely gorgeous. We stayed half-board and were pleasantly surprised at the quality of the evening meals on offer - always a good choice. The chef was happy to provide vegetarian alternatives especially taylored to the requirements of some other guests there at the same time as us. The views from the back of the hotel are stunning, overlooking the bay with Sorrento...

First Class Holiday
from david041
Just returned from a 2 week holiday at this Hotel. It has 1st class meals and lovely staff. Bit far from Sorrento and lacks any sort of nightly entertainment but overall is a great place to chill out.
Very tired hotel
from Londonmember111
We stayed at the Grand Hotel du Golfi last month. The one dinner we tried was very basic, with little choice and expensive for the quality. The breakfast buffet was slightly better but still very average. The room was small and slightly shabby, the bathroom was narrow with a leaky shower cubicle stuck on the only wall possible. The walls were thin and even hushed conversations were audible from adjoining rooms. The gardens were very overgrown and definitely not conducive to sitting out and relaxing. The only plus point was the view, which...

Loved the View
from A TripAdvisor Member
Just returned from a 1 week stay at the Grande Hotel Due Golfi in Sorrento. Everything was fantastic! From the moment we arrived we knew our stay was going to be special. The reception staff were so helpful, particularly Ornella who helped us get back our video camera that we had left on a bus. The Manager of the restaurant was so pleasant and arranged for a packed breakfast for our early departure. Our rooms were immaculate and kept that way by our cleaner throughout our stay. The position of the hotel is perfect - away from the...

The Grand Due Golfi is an amazing hotel! Myself and my boyfriend stayed for one week on a half board basis. The hotel itself is located high up in the mountains of Sorrento looking down onto the bay. It has sensational views all around, whether you are in the bar, the... more
