we booked haven again because we enjoyed it so much at devon cliffs , the caravan was ok but was in need of a good clean, carpets dirty, bedding disgusting and shower had a variety of bugs. we were a family consisting of three pensioners and my daughter of 8 and me and my partner both in our 40,s.was realy hoping much of the same as devon cliffs but there is only two bars, one we used once. the lounge, which was far to noisy for my mum, but we stuck it for an hour on the first night. our caravan was situated about a 5 minite walk from the club so the evenings were realy noisy and kept my family awake till god knows wot time , then when the music died down we had teenagers at 3.45 am shouting outside the van which caused upset to my mum, sadly this went on every evening so by thursday we had had enough and cut our holiday short. The one good thing was the beach, its beautiful, My mums partner did complain to the staff when he handed the keys in he said greenacres only caters for young families , Sadly i wont be returning.

We went in June 2011. Before going we were a bit apprehensive after reading a few dodgy reviews, on arrival all worries were dismissed, great service, our caravan was brilliant (we only asked for a 2 bed but got a 3) with all gadgets required. Very clean caravan and site we loved it and my 2 sons of 4 and 18 months did.

We have just returned from a five day stay at Greenacres. Wehave stayed at Haven sites previously and so had a good idea of what to expect. This site is one of the nicest Haven sites we have stayed at. The site both outside and in the complex was clean. The reception staff were friendly and helpful. Food at The Mash and Barrel is fine, not 5 star dining but if that' what you are after you are on the wrong holiday! Our caravan was prestige model and was excelent; spotless and a good size. W travelled with my parents who took thier dog and I was a little concerned prior to our holiday what a caravan that allowed pets would be like; it was very clean and although an older moede than ourswas not much different(smaller TV and no heaters). The beach here is excellent and allows dogs. The town of Porthmadog is ok, nice around the harbour area but not really a seaside town. Criccieth is worth a vist as is Abersoch.
The complex at Greenacres is smaller than some other Haven sites but was fine, decent size swimming pool and soft play area. We didn't really see any of the evening entertainment so can't comment.
I would recommend this site to families wanting something for the kids, a good beach within walking distance and nothing too hectic.

Just returned from a 4 night midwwek stay at the Haven Greenacres site. My initial thoughts when booking were that this was a good value break at £415. How wrong could I be.
The money you pay really is just for the accomodation (booked a Deluxe and would be interested to see how bad a standard is compared to this). There is absolutely nothing to do on the site that doesnt cost a fortune. There is no daytime entertainment for the children. The complex is cleverly set out so that you HAVE to walk through the arcade to get to anywhere.
The swimming pool is tiny, hardly open for just swimming and badly set out (you have to remove your shoes then walk through a very wet area to access the changing rooms).
The nightime entertainment (I use that word very loosely) leaves a lot to be desired. We have a 3 year old and a 14 year old and neither were impressed with the lame efforts from the entertainment staff whom seem in a rush to get finished. Once they have gone nothing else happens!
Whaetever age yoy or your children are PLEASE avoid this place!

went to the Greenacres through the Sun holiday scheme, must say was terrified of going having read the reviews here. on arrival we were greeted by a very friendly staff member, who explained how to get to the caravan and even drew directions on a map.
our caravan was located 10 minutes from the beach, with parking space for two cars. the location itself was very quiet and you didn't even realise you had any neighbours. it was a fantastic base for sightseeing trips - snowdonia, caernarfon, portmeirion - all about half/an hour's drive.
the caravan itself was a pleasant surprise - spotless, smell-less and the kitchen equipped better than my own. you could see it could do with a bit of redecorating and the sofas were a bit stained, but clean, and besides, we didn't go there to inspect every corner. although we booked it for four people, it could easily sleep ten. bedding was provided, but we brought our own linen. we also had to buy things like soap, washing liquid, or paper towels, but there is a Tesco's nearby so that was no problem.
we didn't use the entertainment passes, so can't comment on those.
i would recommend this caravan site, if you are looking for cheap self-catering holidays and advise not to make judgments after reading negative online reviews - go and try for yourself!

Just returned from a short break here, was a little concerned after reading some of the other reviews but was very pleasently surprised. After a slight mix up to begin with (given a caravan with people already it in), was then given a larger caravan a stones throw from the beach. Caravan was lovely and modern, couldnt really fault it. Its been a while since ive seen a nicer beach, spent lots of time playing hide and seek in the sand dunes with the kids :-). The site itself is spotlessy clean, must confess i didnt go in the pool, and it did seem a little on the small side. The shop was very pricey, but with a spar near by, and a tesco in the nearby town the was no real need to pay the prices. Yes you do have to pay extra for the golf etc, but think this is fairly standard for holiday camps. The Arcade i felt was better than most, lots of 2p machines, so avoided spending a small fortune. Only went to the evening entertainment on one occasion, seemed ok, one thing i wouldnt recommend is the prize bingo, prizes are poor, and can work out quite expensive. Will be booking here again next year.

We have just come back from a weeks stay at Greenacres, The caravan was dirty, mouldy, cobwebs on celings, stained duvet covers, dogs hairs everywhere, tissues and old plasters under beds!
Pool is too small and very basic. We got in there and where told 5 minutes later to get out as they where getting out the electric jet skis, for people to use, which are used all afternoon!, take in the fact that the pool is closed in the morning for van owners only, it doesn't leave much opportunity to just swim.
Site shop is a rip off, a refill pack of baby wipes £3.19, 80p in Tesco's, enough said !
The main reason we paid £800 to stay at Haven was for the evening entertainment, but what a dissapointment, 95% of there entertainment is aimed at under 8 yr olds, as a family with 2 teenagers there is very little, I have been to other Haven sites where after 9.30pm, its time for the grown ups, here they are still doing the purple people eater style songs at 11.30pm, plus this is the only place I know where you form a line to queue for the bar, where there are only 2 people serving, meaning a 15 minute wait to get served.
The Mash Barrel was good value, the weekday curry nights are best, curry, rice, nan bread and a pint £8.95.
Overall very dissapointed and couldn't wait to get home, there are much better Haven sites around, a waste of money! someone else passed a comment on the fact that in the old days crazy golf etc, where inclusive in the holiday price, perhaps they should look at this again, you pay through the nose for everything here, we would have been better staying in a local b&b, whats the point of paying extra to stay with Haven, if they have nothing extra to offer .

e went on a short break. This was a 4 night break from monday to friday. We had ordered a prestige caravan and paid the supplement for a new season model. We arrived after check in (which was 2.30) and there were absolutely no queues...straight in. The caravan was nice....we were really pleased when we went in. Parking right next to the caravan, well equipped (except there was no microwave cooking dishes) and relatively clean. If I could be picky, id mention a few areas missed but generally, after reading other reviews, i was pleased with the cleanliness. It did seem to be a new caravan, beds were made up (1 main bedroom and a room with 2 singles) and all was in order...except for the video player . We didnt seem to have one so I rang reception. They were really friendly and helpful and brought one to the caravan while were were out exploring the place. I would recommend bringing extra blankets and pillows if you are a person who needs 2 pillows and a warmer night. There was one pillow each, enough but I had to fight my husband off from pinching mine.We used the fold out bed, and had to take bedding from one of the single beds for it as we had only listed 4 of us sleeping.
The place was quiet , no noisy neighbours, just families. We were a good 10 min walk from the beach( only due to where our caravan was - the park has direct access) but the beach was really lovely with dunes for the kids to play on. The water was safe, even i swam!
We only used the entertainment complex a few times, which makes me wonder why we didnt just book a cottage or caravn elsewhere but it was good to have it there if needed. We didnt use the pool. I will list the rest as Im going too long (sorry)
pool - didnt look at it but there is a nice looking outdoor water play area for little kids
play areas - outside really really small (we were surprised), tramploines £2 for 10 mins, bouncy slide £1 for 3 goes, one inside play area (small again)
arcade.......hate the blasted things but if you are going to the pool or shows you have to pass through
shop - overpriced
shows - we only went to 2 of the kids shows, it was good thay there was only the 6.30-7 show. Tom and jerry one was good but the other was sooo boring and had a stupid environmental message without the fun.
The only downside for us was on the last night when my 16 year old's bed collapsed. (He isnt heavy). It wasnt a problem as we just swapped beds and had a laugh but it was a shame and could have been huge problem if we had been staying longer.
Overall, the area is nice, Id recommed it for a family who are happy to play on the beach all day and pop back to the caravan for a quiet time...which makes you question why use a haven park.

Have stayed Haven before so knew what to expect, Greenacres was no exception, friendly staff, clean facilities and a very comfortable van-Superior Plus. Was not expecting too much of the beach...but what a brilliant surprise, even on the hottest days you did not have to walk far to have your own private beach area. Not crowded and beautiful clean expanses of golden sand...this alone will make us go again!

having read reviews about greenacres ,We were dreading it.But thankfully it wasnt as bad as it sounded. We have stayed at haven parks before so knew what to expect.
Our first night there we found we had no pull out bed and my daughter had to sleep on cushions. When I pointed this out ,it was sorted by emma at rec and we were given another mobile.Only snag was we had to move all and bring bedding .Could have done without this on our second day.but our 2nd mobile was nicer and in a quieter area.
The park was clean, the staff very friendly. The leisure staff were very good at their jobs. The beach was a short walk and lovely,we didnt get the weather to use it much.Entertainment is usual haven, more for children ,mash and barrel nice for a drink.didnt eat here but looked okay.Porthmadog is a lovely town,5 mins away by car.theres a tesco and a good few shops there.good base for touring,we went to portmerion, and fairy glen, both worth a vist.
we enjoyed our holiday here and would go back.

Thoughts on a recent trip to greenacres:
Caravan fine (superior plus - wouldn't go any lower), bed comfy, need more utensils in kitchen and a cooler fridge (bearing in mind it was the hottest weekend of the year).
Site clean, nicely laid out, mountain views, swimming pool a bit small, surprisingly quiet on site.
Great location, on beach (spent day there on Sat, plenty of room)
Attractions in area good; portmerian, cricetth castle, harlech etc
Drinks, facilities pricy (not unexpected)
Kids age 11 and 12 loved it, me and hubby enjoyed the change of scene.
If you book a break at a Haven site, it's either because you enjoy the whole holiday park thing, or you've found a cheapish break in an area you like, want to use the site as a base and have the option of their facilities, should you want to use them. If you're expecting something sophisticated and luxurious you are barking up the wrong tree, but if you're prepared join in a little, go off site to explore the area you're in, limit the time/money you spend on amusements, mini golf etc (don't forget, you can say 'no' to children occasionally!)then you should get something out of your trip.

The Location is fine but i was robbed by the site shop.
On returning home i found out that a transaction made on my card in the shop had been charged to my account 3 times.
I have been intouch with the shop several times since the event in September and they eventually fobbed me off to their Accounts department in another part of the country. They too keep fobbing me off every time i try to get my money back (excuses about systems down etc...).
My bank cannot refund me because they need a reciept for the goods purchased which i did not keep. So basically the site shop may be charging people for their goods 2 or 3 times without anyone knowing.
I have been to this caravan park several times so i would think that they would just see my bank statement to see their has been a problem and just refund me but they dont seem to be interested.
