Raven Hotel

I have stayed at this Hotel several times and always thought it to be ok .. as long as you didn't expect too much and just wanted a one nights reasonable priced stay. However I return today from the last time I will bother to book the Hotel. In the evening we thought it would be nice to have a couple of drinks in the bar, it was a Sunday evening and pretty quite when we went in. I have stayed here several times with work and I feel it is time to vent my spleen. Overpriced, shabby, populated by staff who go out of their way to be as unhelpful as possible. An absolute dump that deserves to go out of business as soon as possible. Do not spend a penny on this place. The worst place I have ever stayed.

I stayed in the Raven for one night, at a cost of £85.00 bed and breakfast. I have to say I was quite disappointed, the room was dingy with several plaster repair marks on the wall and the bathroom had a grubby feel about it. In balance the bed and linen were clean. From a sleep point, the room was very noisy, I could hear the neighbouring guest clearly snoring through the night and there were several instances of water pipes not just coming on, but sounding like they were gushing. The Raven Hotel is perfectly adequate for one night or maybe a weekend. You would not want to go there for a holiday! Its right next to the station and close to pretty much everthing in Hook. (not that there`s much!)

I booked a month in advance for a Double Room for 1 night for my wife and myself. We had a wedding reception to attend nearby. I booked with Late Room and got the room for £35 instead of the usual £45. My wife and I arrived at reception early to check in, only to be told that all the Double Bed rooms had gone. The man at reception then altered the room number on the Check In form, and directed us to our room. Upon geting there, it had 2 narrow single beds and was very small.
