I stayed at the Grove last Summer and had to leave the hotel in a rush due to my friend being unwell. I left a number of clothes items in the room and these never materialized and I had to chase and chase the hotel staff to respond to me and in the end had to physically go... more

A premium 5* hotel, The Grove is upmarket to the max, with 3 beautiful restaurants, a bar, indoor and outdoor pools and now a faux beach too! But be warned the only disappointment on 1 of our 2 visits was the standard room. Very standard and nothing like the Superior Plus... more

Best day of our lives!
We had our wedding at The Grove and people still remark what an amazing day it was. The staff and facilities were superb and the whole day went off without a hitch. I can thoroughly recommend The Grove whether its for one night or for a wedding!
The Best
I am in the industry and I have to say that I was really impressed by this property and the service they offered. As soon as I arrived the front of house staff went out of thier way to ensure that we got the most of the facilities with a smile and can do attitude. My girlfriend enjoyed the spa and the delights of her treatments and I enjoyed the superb golf course. Especially the non stuffy pro-active approach. Everything we could want within 300 acres. We will be back and soon!
Wedding Night Heaven!!!!!!
My husband booked this stunning hotel for our Wedding Night and despite the expense it was worth every penny. Our room was huge with an enormous plasma tv on the wall, and was tastefully decorated. Ours had a stunning view of the gardens. The room really was sumptuous with the most enormous bed I have ever seen, which was scattered with rose petals (at an extra cost). It was the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on. The bathroom had candles lit and the beautiful roll top bath was all ready for our arrival. Both my... more
Brilliant Service
We stayed at the Grove on 22nd April for a birthday celebration and had a great time. We had one small issue with the quality of the room service food, but this was quickly and politely dealt with by both the duty manager and food/beverages manager - the food bill was waived, and a birthday cake/champagne offered to us. On a warm afternoon eating outside at the Stables is a truly relaxing experience, and I'd probably recommend Colettes for the evening. Our room was allegedly one of the least luxurious but the standards were excellent, and... more
Great hotel
We stayed at the Grove for five nights over the Easter Weekend . It is a great hotel with wonderful facilities. The service was really good and the staff was friendly. The concierge was very efficient. I really liked the various lounges with unique settings. The disappointing issues of this hotel were smoking in public areas and children management. The food at all the restaurants was excellent however the hotel has not managed to work out a formula to separate guests who want a quiet stay and want to avoid families with young... more
Substandard - how to stay for Free
The Grove only plus point is location and amenities, BUT staff and service a under LHW standards. LHW standards require phones to be answered within three rings, which never happens, fail to inform guest at reservation about facilities and more importantly to book Golf course or Restaurant at that time, since once on arrival everything is fully booked with having no option to do anything else. Secondly if you want to have a peaceful weekend, which can be hampered since they promote themselves as child friendly and if you spend Easter weekend... more
wonderful
stayed at the Grove recently as part of a wedding and it was first class. The staff were at all times friendly and helpful, the rooms were spot on and the general ambience relaxed. We all hope to return soon to enjoy the leisure facilities to the full.. Highly reccomended if you have children, as it is by far the most child friendly hotel I have come across.
Wouldn't recommend
Really would advise people not to stay. My boyfriend took me for a luxurious break and had I realised it was £300 a night I would have told him not to bother. It was meant to be a stress-free stay but instead I spent so much time worrying about the cost of the over-priced food that I just couldn't relax. NEVER AT ANY TIME was it mentioned that you should book the restaurant about a week early as we just popped in on the Saturday night during our stay AND WEREN'T allowed to eat even though we were guests?! The worst-ever food... more
total sublime relaxation
staying at THE GROVE overnight for our silver wedding-a surprise from our kids, felt as though we'd been away for a week.the room, staff ,resturants, ambience and grounds were just amazing. As for the spa it's not just the treatments that are sublime its the whole cosseted experienc,so much so i returned with a friend in january for a day package and once again it did not disapoint. This is a hotel like no other and i can honestly say possibly the best luxury hotel in the world, and i have travelled.look out for special packages and try to go at... more
Perfect
I had already booked this hotel and was quite alarmed when reading the recent reviews. However after staying there I agree with several other reviewers in saying that those who don't like this hotel just don't get it. The hotel describes itself as "groovy grand" and it is just that. It is not a small exclusive hotel. It is a HUGE exclusive hotel! The spa is amazing, as is the outdoor pool. The Glasshouse restaurant is meant to be a cooking theatre, not a quiet, intimate room. If you want quiet, you need to book into their other... more
