Dated but functional
from fletch91
It was dated and the room on the 6th floor was small. It could have done with some decoration but the beds abd bedding were quite adequate and most important they were clean. The bath could have done with a good clean, it is always disturbing to find hairs floating there that are not yours or your partners. If you got to breakfast at the right time it was excellent and we did. The food howevere was not replenished and began to look a bit off, i.e. rock hard fried eggs and a skin on the beans. I suppose you get what you pay for but I did...

What a dump
from Joey14roo
What a dive. Rooms are TINY and clostrophobic, wallpaper is yellow and peeling off, kettle did not work, told reception and 5 hours later we get the reply that there are no spares that they can provide us with. There is no extractor fan in the bathroom and the beds are small too plus a lot of road noise! The whole general feel to the room was grotty. The only good thing about this hotel was the breakfast in the morning which was scrummy (apart from the fact the yoghurt was out of date!!) and the fact that it is very central...

do not stay here, eat here, or drink here
from Veggiemel
I felt really sorry for the staff at the Park Inn, but that didn't make the stay any more bearable, and I doubt I will use any hotel in the Park Inn chain if I can help it. And, although it is probably their entry-level provision, it certainly has done nothing to persuade me that I can trust any part of the Radisson SAS chain. I had no choice about staying here - it was a company residential, and we were stuck here for 3 nights. The rooms were small and very basic - what is it that makes it 3*? I had no light bulb in my room (probably an...

New ownership/name but not much better
from A TripAdvisor Member
This hotel is now the Watford Park Inn hotel (it seems it changed in December 2005). I chose it because I found I had to be in Watford the same day and wanted somewhere easy to get to from Watford Junction train station. The outside was fairly poorly lit and the placed looked like a 70s office block, but the reception was reasonably welcoming. My room was on the 5th floor and served by a very slow lift. When I actually opened the door I was surprised about how small the room was. It was a twin room with 2 tiny single beds. The...

A bit basic
from Graysgirl
Had a complex schedule, and needed to be in a hotel near Watford Junction railway station to get an early train north. This hotel meets that criterion - its a couple of minutes walk. I arrived at the hotel around 10pm, and both I and my cab driver nearly missed the entrance completely. It is a very small entrance, poorly signed and lit. The hotel is a rather drab modern block on a busy road. It feels like it was once an office or had some other function. Earlier in the day I had rung to let them know I was a late arrival, and it...

I stayed at the hotel three nights in September 2005. On a general note, the hotel definitely charge too much for the rooms (as many other hotels in the London area they seem to be able to get away with it...). I needed to revise for exams in the evenings and I found this a bit difficult as the rooms were very dimly lit. The first room I stayed in had a faulty table lamp. The staff looked at it and decided to move me to another room rather than try to fix the lamp, which was fine for me. The second room had a table lamp that worked,...

Glad we only stayed one night.
from A TripAdvisor Member
Scruffy bedroom with hardly enough room to swing a cat with shabby decoration and a stained bath. No air conditioning and when we opened the window there was a loud drone of a generator or air ducts. The bed was not a double and was very worn. Breakfast was ok but the tea and coffee were left in thermos flasks so unless you were lucky it tasted stewed. Some of the staff were helpful but one in particular was lacking in customer service skills. Was not cheap and was disappointing value for money.

Mouldy hell!
from A TripAdvisor Member
In February 05 my organisation booked a group of us into the hotel. I have never encountered so much mould on a bathroom ceiling! I itched like crazy all night long. The grubby, greasy circles above the bed heads were a further sign that the whole place has seen better days. The tiny, narrow single beds were no joke, and every movement and switch of a light in adjoining rooms was very audible. When I finally did get to sleep it seemed only a matter of seconds before the walloping sound of newspapers landing outside bedroom doors woke me,...

rooms very grotty - awful road traffic noise from outside
from A TripAdvisor Member
I arrived at the hotel on new years eve and parked in the hotel car park. The car park is dark and dingy. I felt worried leaving the car. The main reception area and restaurant have recently been refurbished and look very nice. The food in the restaurant was ok - nothing to write home about. However, the rooms are awful. I was booked into one of their superior suites. The room was dirty and there was mould around the bath. In their so called superior suites you do not even get a kettle to make a drink. The...
