Returned on the 9th and could quite easily go again today. Great holiday, asked for air con and it was there. Rooms basic but suitable as you only sleep in them. Food nice most days as long as you are not a picky eater. The train down was very nice and gave you chance to... more

Hi, I do not wish to put you off going to the boughanvilla as it is beautiful, but we have been there 3 times and love it but this time it was spoiled by the fact that in a space of 4 days 3 children nearly drowned in the pool. They were children around the ages of 5 or 6... more

We have just come back after 2 weeks all inclusive. The apartment was very basic, but ok. No air condition and with 2 children the heat at night was horrible. You could hire fans from the hotel at 15 euros per week, but we bought one for just 19 euros. Small Pool was... more

Ok Hotel, even worse resort
Just came back from the Bouganvila. I went there with my daughter whos is 3 years old and another couple with their kids ( 2,9,13). I found the hotel ok with lot's of pools and a good few things for the kids to do, but the staff were very rude and arrogant. The apartments in were a good size and were loked after accordingly, but as someone pointed out before, they didn'nt clean the sink, and sheets only got changed once a week (never when we were there). The kids entertainment is very good, with only 1hr of singing and dancing then bingo, then adult entertainment, then a show, and with the first hour of kids entertainment gone at the big top, the kids are bored. The hotel is quite away from the so-called beach and main centre of Sa Coma, there is a land train that takes you there every half hour, but is never on time.If your walking to the centre it will take you approx 30min plus, and can be quite tiring on your feet specialy the kids. Once your finaly in the centre there is absolutly nothing there worth looking at, it consists of souvenier shop, restaurant, another shop, and another kind of shop, then repeat them all untill you get to the end. The shops and restaurants we did go to, the staff again are very rude and arrogant, and some of the shop staff watch you like a hawk when browsing their products that makes you want to walk off (like i did).Their are no clubs, or bars were you can have a dance or anything. I found Sa Coma very much like a third world resort, with cracked pavements everywhere, rubbish scattered amongst the place, unwelcoming locals that seemed to want to get rid of you.Restaurants selling the same thing, it was like a burger and chips dinner everyday. Maybe the town needs a bit of money spent on it and might be one of these up and coming resorts in the future, but untill the locals change their attitude towards the tourist's they arnt going to get the buisness they are looking for to change the town. great time at the bouganvilla
These apartments were great for famalies the rooms were on the small size with no air conditioning but it did not spoil my holiday. most spanish apartments do not have air conditioning but it would have been nice as the weather was great while we were there. Its true you must get up at 7am to reserve a sun bed i generally don't like doing this but i wanted a bed near the kids swimming pool in order to watch my 1year old daughter. The complex pools were lovely the water was so refreshing i wish i was swimming in it now. We tried the La Tasca restaurant on site for lunch only i thought it was over priced for the food quality. We ate out 6 of the 7 nights 4 times the Kings Head - fantastic food so much choice and reasonable prices 1 time fox and hounds - food ok but not tempting enough to return one waitress for the whole restaurant she was run off her feet and had been like that since May!! 1 time The New Inn - why did we not walk on by!! I had chili and found something strange in it, i still feel a little sick when i think of it!! Sa Coma was a quite town with a good choice of bars and restaurants what my husband and i liked about it was - no one pestering you to dine at their restaurands and no street sellers trying to make you buy fake watches etc.
absolutely brillant
hi i just come back from the bouganvilla and it was amazing. the staff are really helpful and there is lots to do. the activities for the kids is good and the pool is great. sa coma itself is a lovely little town not far from bouganvilla. if you want a perfect holiday then is the place to go.
fantastic holiday!(although some complaints!)
hi there went to the boogie for 1 week in june with my husband 3 kids ,and i was really worried after all the bad reviews saying the place was dirty, that wasnt the case at all.our 2 bed appartment was spotless,it was cleaned almost every day but the sheets were only changed once! i heard lots of people complaining about how uncomfortable it was to sleep in a studio so im glad we had the room we did.the food was great in the half board resteraunt, breakfast was the best! and the la tasca was good too,so were the prices.we also ate out at the kings head and the royal oak,the food was lovely and the portions were massive.the pool was great for the kids,so was the kids club,we had a bit of peace! i also put my 11 month old in the creche for 3 hours.you have to be prepared for it to be noisy,at night we had people running down the back of our appartment at 4pm singing and shouting.the sun bed situation was a nightmare, there is supposed to be a rule of no reserving the beds at all!! we were very lucky to get one for 2 days of our holiday.sa coma itself was a bit basic and the beach was ok,very crowded.we did have a really good holiday and are going again next may for 2 weeks,oh and one more complaint no air conditioning!! it was unbearably hot to sleep in beginning of june, and you have to pay to hire fans, thats why we are goin in may next year.
A must if you have children
We have just returned from our summer holidays in bouganvilla 2 - 16 july We had 3 kids of 16, 12, and 8 years plus my mother (68). Every one of us enjoyed the holiday especially the children. Before we went to this resort we checked all the reviews. We found this very helpful as everything lived up to our expectations. Our kids followed the reps around all day as they arranged all sorts of activities for families, adults and the kids. They were fabulous. (Pool, water polo, football, volleyball etc.) The restaurants are brill. The big top, the kids loved because they were presented with cetrtificates every night. The town of sa coma is only a pleasant 15 mins walk away with the Kings Head the place to visit with entertainment every night. Rooms cleaned almost every day. Very clean place. And hopefully we can go back before the kids get to old. Definately a place for families and one parent families. Didn't see too many single people. The pools are a must (6 of them). Fantastic. Would go back in a minute. Loved every minute including mum.
No character butlins-alike!
The place was full of crying, screaming kids and sunburnt football shirt wearing men. Our balcony faced the main road outside - great view... not. This also meant we had no sleep due to lorries and coaches driving past all night. The hotel sign resembled that of a supermarket. People who get out of bed at 7am to reserve sunbeds around the poole - even though apparently, there's a strict 'no reserving of sunbeds rule'. You have no chance of finding a sunbed unless you're down there at 6.55am. You're lucky to get any sleep with people (kids and adults) running up and down corridors all night. The maid didn't clean our kitchenette sink - we had to go to reception and demand she came back to finish her job daily. Sheets weren't changed for 7 days. They make you pay around 15 Euro to HIRE a fan for your un-air conditioned room! Surely a so called 3* hotel should at least have a ceiling fan?! Entertainment was cringe-worthy. I felt embarrassed for the poor people that are subjected to having to perform nightly in the 'big top'. We didn't watch any of it - we were put off by the 50 minute demonstration in the welcome meeting (which was more like a sales event). They try to make you buy their day trips, which cost much more than you get buy yourself in the town. There was also a 'suncare advisor' who insisted you only buy her products (at great cost) - She also informed us that any suncream above factor 25 was 'bad for your skin'! The 'Boogie Train' gives you a lift into the over anglicised, characterless town. The train was never on time and usually too full to fit everyone else on, therefore necessitating a 30 minute walk to the overcrowded beach. I certainly would return to Bouganvilla - to see it being bulldozed.
A+ Brilliant
Just returned from this hotel well what can i say, this is the best holiday we have been on, the staff at the hotel itself are very reliable on cleanliness, room cleaned 5 days out of 7, towels changed 5 out of 7 days. Food i can not realy comment on because we ate down the main town 13 nights out of 14 price wise ok but you are paying for convenience so was not to bad, kids club and staff excellent watch out for payable sessions as this was not allways made clear but apart from that v/good.the big top was an excellent place to wind down at the end of evening entertainers were really good with kids and i would give them 10 out of 10,pools fantastic . you need to get up early to get a sun bed though it does say you must not reserve beds we got caught out several times, but holiday overall 100%
being twice so far................
we have been to bouganvilla twice in the last 4 years with 2 young anklebiters and liked it so much on both occasions that we are going there again in august this year "2005" with 3 ankle biters. the complex is the best you will find anywhere on the island the food from the ls tasca grill is top class. although we have only been on a sc basis we have also eaten in the half board restaurant and found the food to be "not to bad" but there is so many great restaurants within 5 minutes walk from resort .anyone thinking of visiting should look no further for a great holiday in sacoma.as far as noise is concerned, with there been a great big top on site with fantastic entertainment, there is obviously some noise , but as soon as this finishes, usually @ 12pm that is it ,then its off to sleep for another great day tomorrow.p.s totally all english(no germans, hooray!!!)
2 thumbs up :-)
I stayed at this hotel about 4 years ago, but i only just discovered tripadvisor a few months ago, which is why this review is so late. This place is great, so colourful, friendly and loads to do. The pool is huge...and i mean huge, plus there is another pool on the other side of the complex. Its a short walking distance to the beach and town....about 5 mins. The beach is fabulous. Los of water sports there too. The entertainment in the hotel is really really good, for both kids and adults. The rooms are great, really big and clean. The food was wonderful. We went half bord, and it was buffet means, with plents to eat, and lots of english food as well. I really think that this hotel has something for everyone, and one year hope to go back, as i has such a great holiday :-)
good enough
Bouganvilla hotel was a very large complex and somewhat impersonal. We were situated at the back of the resort next to the small pool and the entertainment tent. The pool was great and the view from our room was nice. Dont think I saw an insect when I was there. Very clean area. The noise from the tent usually stopped around 12.30pm but on some nights had inconsiderates talking by the pool until early hours. The staff did react tour complaint of three nights no sleep and security chased on the people or keep the noise down. We found this a little out of the way from the main part of the village. Not for those seeking a lively holiday. Bouganvilla great for the kids and was relaxing. Overall I did enjoy my holiday and probably woul go back again with the kids. Not a place for couples only though.
