This was the only place left in Majorca as we booked last minute. My heart sank when i read the reviews. But i thought it had everything we needed. The Supermarket was very well stocked and takeaway was great to grab a burger while sunbathing.I went with just my boyfriend and had a lovely week. One thing it needs is a lick of paint, the hotel train was great for getting us down to the shop and the beach. Rooms are a great size compared to some I'v stayed in. And the atmosphere at night is great.

The appartments were clean and well maintained. On site shop well stocked. A little too far to walk to beach but a free train is provided to get to beach. Excellent Beach. Majorca is a great island to see. Wonderful countryside, castles to see, ancient prehistoric sites and great caves at Arte. (Better than the more comercial caves De Drac). We went to the caves when the weather wasnt very good for beach. Loads to see and do. I definately want to return to the island.

We (a family of 4 including a 2yr old and 6 yr old) loved Sa Coma. It fantastic for families.
The hotel was very attractive, always very clean. Our apartment was cleaned every other day. The pools were amazing. The staff were very helpful & friendly. My only criticism is that the evening entertainment was very loud.
Our apartment was one of the furthest from the entertainment, & we struggled to get the children to sleep.

Absolutely brilliant!! This place is ideal for families with all ages of kids, entertainment was fantastic, apartment was very clean and spacious with the maid in every other day, mini market is very well equipped with a lot of English food and it also has a lovely fresh bakery for your rolls and bread and not expensive, snack bar does takeaways till late which are yummy, the pool is lovely as it slopes in at a few points ideal for little ones, would suggest hiring a car to go to waterparks etc: as trips are quite expensive if you have a big family and you don't mind driving, overall would definitely be going back and will highly recommend it to everyone, well done to the entertainment team.

We had a great holiday at the Bouganvilla. The hotel itself was very clean rooms a little basic but still nice.
We didn’t have great weather but still managed to fill our days up. The pool was huge but a little cold.
The staff could have been a bit friendlier in the resort but the reps made up for it they were great and kept the kids entertained.
Sa coma itself is quiet at that time of the year but very family friendly. We found a great bar just round the corner from the hotel called the mariners. The food was lovely and prices cheap. They have a bouncy castle and outdoor play area which kept the kids amused.
Overall we would go back to the Bouganvilla.

Oct 2007, Mr P Owen

Just got back from an excellent 2 week holiday at the Bouganvilla. Out of the 2 weeks we had 7 days of sun and on the cloudy/rainy days there is nothing at all to do. Had to go to Magaluf for things to do but on the sunny days it’s great.
Entertainment at night is 10 out of 10. The entertainment team do an excellent job and made our holiday worth while like a Haven or Butlins but alot better
The pools are excellent and have 2 keen lifeguards keeping a watch on you
We had a 2 bedroom apartment with a stunning view overlooking the pools; we had cleaner come every other day changed towels and made the beds but never actually did any cleaning.
Has a free road train that leaves every half hour to the beach/town centre
Would go back if I was guaranteed sunshine every day, would have been a 10 out of 10 holiday if there was a indoor pool or any indoor activities.

Previous to my holiday at the 'Boogie' I read the reviews on this website some of them scared me! I had a fantastic time, the apartments were clean and adequately sized for the time you spend in them when you are on holiday. Me and my family ate out every night, the staff were polite and very friendly, the food was great and reasonably priced.
We took the free train into Sa Coma and were delighted by it's beautiful beach and fantastic views. The entertainment on site kept the kids happy and I would give the entertainers 10 out of 10 for the effort they put in. If I had to complain about anything it would be not enough sunbeds but that wont put me of going back next year.

Sep 2007, Mrs B Chandley

Went to the Bouganvilla with my husband and 4 kids (10, 7, 5, 1) for two weeks in August. I had read a lot of bad reviews about this place before going. Yes the sunbed situation is terrible, having to get up every morning before 7. Also there was a lot of under-age drinking going on to which the two security men seemed to turn a blind eye. On our last night this problem was addressed by a member of the entertainment team, so hopefully parents will take more care.
Other than that, the complex was great everything under one roof. Apartments small but fine and very clean. Maids work very hard. Take-away on complex very handy and very cheap. Evening entertainment good, kids loved it! Eating out would recommend The Royal Oak and The Mariners. Sa Coma itself is small but nice. The Bouganvilla is a good bit away from the town but you have the train during the day and taxis are cheap. You can take the horse and carriage for 10 euros.
Overall I think I would go back but would keep an eye on reviews to see if people have the same complaints.

Sep 2007, Mr DR Walker

My wife Liz and I booked a last minute deal and after reading some comments on here we were kind of dreading it! It is geared up more for families and it must be great for kids but I really would not recommend it for couples only.
Having said that, the complex was clean, tidy and the drinks were good value. We walked to the fabulous beach each day so avoided the age old sun bed reservation problem (why are people allowed to do this?).
Resort is great with fantastic value eating out. Try 'JJ's'- great food and a warm welcome. Take a walk to Cala Millor, great place. Downside, too much under age drinking being allowed to take place on complex and nothing being done about it. This lead to people jumping in the pool around midnight one night, which could have had serious repercussions. Security way too slow to react.
Would we go back? To the resort yes, but not to Bouganvilla unless we had kids in tow.

My husband and I booked this holiday...
8 / 10
Sep 2007, Mrs J E Richards

My husband and I booked this holiday as a late deal (not allocation on arrival) without doing any research for the two of us and our 15 month old daughter. After handing over the money and looking at reviews we started to regret our decision and dreaded turning up at "Butlins in the Sun"!!
WHAT A PLEASANT SURPRISE!!
Yes it was a holiday resort - please don't be snobbish - we were! And if you are travelling as a family you could not ask for anything more.
The reps and entertainment staff were on hand between 09.00 - 14.00 and 16.00 - 19.00 and were all extremely helpful and very down to earth.
Each night entertainment is provided by the reps and outside entertainers - starting with a mini disco for the kids - our little girl loved boogying - followed by bingo and professional tribute acts.
Kids club and crèche are available - however we did not make use of these facilities.
The hotel is very clean with friendly, helpful staff, cleaners come every other day.
TOP TIPS
1. If you have mobility difficulties this is not for you - hotel is approx 1 mile from resort centre and beach and on the way back a very gentle uphill walk - there are no lifts in the Bouganvilla Park.
2. BUS SERVICE - Make use of the excellent transport network and take a bus to Porto Christo / Caves of Drach or any other destination - frequent buses - reliable and cheap i.e. latter destinations 1 Euro 55 per person.
3. Ask for details at reception (not reps) for any discounts for local attractions i.e. Aqua Park El Arenal - if you hire a car driver goes free!!
4. TAKE YOUR DRIVING LICENCE - A quick cost -benefit analysis quickly shows the benefit of hiring a car and the savings that can be made in comparison to going by coach i.e. 50 mins drive to Aqua Park El Arenal total cost 21 Euro as driver goes free plus 4 Euro food discount, booking through reps costs 42 Euro per adult!!
5. SHOP AROUND FOR CAR RENTAL PRICES - Make use of weekend deals which many of the offices offer - HOWEVER BEWARE - we booked our car through AVIS for 85 Euro for 3 days - when the car was picked up we were asked to pay additional insurance costs which we were not informed about upon booking - excess costs are very high.
6. WARNING - Do not accept / buy any fruit i.e. watermelon or coconuts etc from beach sellers as you will will be charged as much as 40 Euro for a coconut!
7. MENU DEL DIA - Please, please take advantage of this - if you see this on a chalk board outside of a restaurant - try it! We had a 3 course meal of local cuisine for 6 Euro each - the best meal this holiday.
8. CAVES OF DRACH - We arrived at the caves with the intention of viewing the spectacle - however when purchasing the tickets we were informed that there are approx 160 steps in and out of the caves and therefore it is not possible to take push chairs - there is no facility to store these at the caves.
9. The on-site supermarket, although convenient is very expensive. The Caprabo Hypermarket is approx 10 - 15 mins walk from apartments where all essentials and more can be bought at much more reasonable price.
10. If you are taking youngsters i.e. still in nappies please ensure you take sufficient nappies and "Little Swimmers" - nappies can cost up to 25 Euro per pack and little swimmers 15 Euro for 10 at cheapest!
11. ENJOY YOURSELVES!!
Despite our initial snobby attitude to this resort - we had a fabulous holiday - the reps could not have offered better service, we will certainly be returning when our daughter is a little older and able to enjoy the disco and entertainment to the maximum.

Sep 2007, Mrs L Greenan

I was not looking forward to my holiday after reading all the reviews, on arrival I was pleasantly surprised.
The complex was very clean, staff very friendly and helpful, I went for two weeks with my husband, and two kids aged 6 and 14. My youngest had an absolute ball at the kids club where the staff were great entertainers and very nice people, my oldest enjoyed herself and loved the pool.
We chose to eat mainly in Sa Coma opting for the Kings Head, Mariners and Chinese, I found Sa Coma itself a very nice town, maybe a bit on the small side but that suited us as we were there for a family holiday.
The only thing I can moan about was the lack of guidance some parents gave there teenagers at night, they seemed to hang around the complex drinking under no adult supervision, although we never had any trouble. We had a room poolside which was fab, up at six to grab the sunbeds right at the bottom of the stairs at the side of the pool FAB.
We returned home 28 July and booked up again in August for next year, met some lovely people and look forward to seeing them again, wishing the days away until next July ha-ha.

We have just returned from a weeks...

Sep 2007, Mrs R PAISLEY

We have just returned from a weeks stay at the Bouganvilla. I went with my sister and our 2 sons who are 10 & 12.
First impressions were good although the apartment was smaller than we thought, but after a good sleep we were impressed with the cleanliness and upkeep of the apartment. I did miss the balcony sea view type of holiday. The apartments are closely packed together with not a lot of privacy.
We found 2 pools; a really big one and a smaller one which we used most of the time. There was plenty going on for kids, in fact this was a child’s dream holiday. The shops are also well stocked and sell everything you can imagine.
The evening entertainment was in the big top and was varied and we enjoyed ourselves anyway; the staff work hard and are friendly. Their are trampolines, go karts etc for the kids and a huge sand football pitch so as you can imagine we never saw ours! The restaurant on site was excellent the food was fantastic and very reasonably priced we ate there quite a lot.
The walk into Sa Coma is about 15 mins and is easy, there a lots of bars and restaurants in Sa Coma. I would recommend the British Oak where the meals are massive or JJ's where the food is fab and you get a free bottle of wine with your meal. The Cafe de la Mer is also excellent its Spanish run and does bbq style meals although the wait was over an hour it was worth it.
All in all we had a great time the weather was hot, the accommodation was clean and the kids loved it. Couldn’t have done 2 weeks but would recommend to families.
