Ibis Plymouth Hotel

I stayed in the Ibis for one night as I had an early meeting. It was not the easiest hotel to find and after spending a good 15 minutes driving around I was slightly put off by the motel style front to the hotel. As a lone female traveller I probably would not have chosen to be just one door away from the outside world! This said, reception were friendly and helpful, the room was clean and functional and larger than I had expected and the bed (although rested on a chipboard base) gave a great night's sleep. Booked an overnight stay at this hotel at unbelievably low price and can only recommend it to anybody. The room was functional, very clean and comfortable. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Some friends came to join us for breakfast the young lady on reception, cooking duties etc etc was very friendly and extremely helpful and coped admirably on her own doing all the various functions required of her. Would definitely stay there again.

I have stayed at this hotel several times and have to say that although the hotel is unusual in it's style (a bit like a motel) and the rooms could do with updating, the rooms are always perfectly adequate and clean . The staff are great!! Friendly and efficient, nothing is too much trouble. For the price overall very good.

we booked in to the ibis on a friday night after a very long journey and horrendous traffic, so when we got to reception all we wanted was to chk in and get to our room, we had booked on line and asked for a disabled smoking room, at reception, informed we had a double disabled no smoking so we asked if we could be given what id booked, advised room we had was one of the best ? and moving it would be a twin and not disabled. In 20 years of travelling for business I have never had to check out of a hotel, but with it being peak holiday season my usual haunts in Plymouth were full so I quickly found the Ibis online and made a booking. I reguarly stay in Ibis Hotels throughout Europe and am an Accor Hotel card holder so hardly a newbie to the Ibis style of hotels which is functional, spartan but always clean, not so the case here! Stayed here for work the other week, and after asking to move rooms due to the dust in the first room, i realised they were all the same. Three inches of dust around the room corners, and the rooms were like something out of Dad's Army. Staff were lovely though, and the lady chef very good...much to my surprise. Apparently they are building a new Ibis on the other side of town, this one could benefit from a few kilos of Semtex. Booked out after only one night of the three i have reserved.
