The Christopher Hotel

I'd concur with the other reviewers - this is a very pleasant hotel. I had a 1-day stay here on a business trip nearby. The courtyard was both spacious and cosy with a good shower. The weather was awful so I decided not to bother exploring the very pretty surroundings and had dinner in the bar. The menu was interesting, relatively inexpensive and the food well cooked. Despite it being a wet Tuesday the bar was buzzing with other diners while the hotel cat dozed on a seat - definitely not your average hotel dining room! My own problem... more

I have to say that I have a policy of never consulting trip advisor until I have stayed at an establishment myself, that way it gets a fair chance either way. I chose the Christopher for its location to Twickenham, I having a business meeting in the area on Friday, and wishing to travel to a rugby international the next day. We were generally satified with our stay but had a few issues. We booked a junior suite at a rate of £140 room only through booking.com. Check in was fine just had to wait ten mins (arrived 3pm so was not expecing this but hey not a huge wait). The room was in the main house up a VERY steep set of narrow stairs. Upon entering the room, it was instantly noticeable that the carpet was stained and shabby. It did not appear to be a commercial quality carpet and had black marks that looked like trodden in bluetack.. or... more

My wife & I love this hotel. Its in a great location and has a really relexed feel to the place. The rooms in the courtyard are very comfortable and staff are helpful and attentive. Windsor is only a short walk away and the bars and restaurants close by are excellent. You won't be disappointed.

A group of us visiting Windsor on business stayed here. The hotel is very convenient for the area, and for a pleasant evening out in the local restaurants and a walk up to Windsor Castle. We stayed here really because of the location, but were pleasantly surprised with the hotel. We found The Christopher to be a lovely hotel in a great location. Our courtyard room was clean, bright and comfortable with everything we needed. The staff at the hotel was excellent. Everyone was very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. The bar area is a comfortable place to relax with leather sofas and newspapers. Although we didn't eat in the restaurant itself we did sample the menu. The menu was varied and resonably priced. We had a very pleasant and restful stay at the Christopher. We stayed in room 48 which was very comfortable, with a power shower and the luxury of Molton Brown toiletries, coffee making facilities. Breakfast was excellent. We didnt eat at the hotel but their prices were comparable to the restaurants in the town namely EXPENSIVE. This hotel is not suitable for anyone in a wheelchair as it is a 17th century coaching inn and although we saw a room with ramp access the restaurant was only accessible through a narrow doorway and up some... more

Had a great stay at the Christopher, it is in a really good location in lovely Eton, a short walk to the pedestrian bridge to Windsor. The room was clean, had a very comfortable bed and good bathroom with powerful shower and Molton Brown toiletries. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend for a weekend break in Eton/Windsor.
