Parque da Floresta Golf and Leisure Resort

Villa 103 Atlantic View - The property itself is fine, if a bit overpriced, but as you're on a golf resort that is the reason you pay more. Our main problem was with the owner of this villa, who made no effort to contact us regarding receiving our payments, instructions of arrival for keys, then not responding to a problem we had. On arrival on the website it says to go to Reception for keys, which is not the case. Reception said to go to the villa as they do not handle the management of that property. When we got to the villa we were met by the house manager who barked at us that we were supposed to have called him on our arrival. We could not do this as the owner had not given us this or any information!! We didn't even know who this guy was!
On entering the villa it was very clean and tidy, but bare! The owner had left the night before and not even left a bottle of water or wine to welcome us, let alone the basics such as salt and pepper, milk, tea, coffee and sugar! This is a villa which we'd paid £4200 for 2 weeks!!!!! She obviously realises that noone is going back to this villa as its soooo windy during July and August!! It's horrendous, on several nights we lit the BBQ and used it as a fire, but the howling wind in the palm trees was so bad on some nights we ended up indoors unable to shout anymore.
Be very careful if you book this villa as we think it's overpriced for what it is. We stayed at La Manga last year for less so were expecting something a lot grander than we got. (Beware photos are taken with a wide angle lens as the place and pool are smaller than they look on on www.holidaylettings.com website.) If you are used to paying this kind of money for golf resort accommodation then perhaps I am being unrealistic, but I did not feel we experienced value for money. We also did not feel we experienced any form of customer service from this owner.
Only bright spot on the holiday was the restaurant in Salema called Aqua en Boca which has gorgous food. (Even there though it's windy hence blankets on the backs of chairs outside!!)
