Perfectly adequate
We were very happy with our two night stay when all we needed was a bed. No real complaints on any front but nothing stood out either. Location was good for city centre and station but rather a long walk if you arrive at the bus station; a local said five minutes so we didn't bother with a taxi. If I had to specify one bad point and one good point I'd opt for having to pay for internet access as the negative and the friendly, helpfuil staff for the positive..
No parking!
Hotel is easy to find and conveniently placed for the station and city centre. That said there is very limited customer parking of which I was not advised prior to booking, on my arrival at the hotel the few customer parking spaces were already taken and I was advised to find alternative parking by the check in staff - this involved finding the nearest NCP car park and having to pay an excessive amount for overnight parking.
Capable staff, value for money
To be honest i was a bit concerned about staying here due to the price and some reviews i read, this was a one night stay to see a band at the uni. The staff were very helpful and professional, the room was clean. We ate in the bar and found it different to the normal food available at hotel chains. Nothing overpriced!! All in all good choice for our budget and yes!! i would stay there again. The location is fine however we took a taxi.
very nice staff made our trip a good one.
we needed a place to stay for one night in leicester. a room for 3 for £50 was reasonable. we paid extra for breakfast (continental). the guy on check in was fantastic - smart in appearance, very friendly yet professional and very very helpful. i had not booked the right sort of room for all 3 of us but he sorted it out very quickly and got us a family room. the hotel is worn and plain. the reception area was light and clean. our bed was comfy. the location of the hotel is right next to the ring road, so the view is hardly worth... more
Thank God we found this hotel!
After an unpleasant stay at the Campanile Hotel, we moved to the Hotel Ibis. Simply put: it's a fantasic place to stay, and it's not expensive. Located within close walking distance to Granby street, with many restaurants, etc, it is really convenient. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and well appointed. They're also very well insulated - so there's no noise disturbing your sleep. We visited Leicester in the summer - so it was a relief to find that the room was well-ventilated, and that it had air... more
Good budget hotel
Stayed at this hotel for 1 night following my husbands works Christmas Party. I had read other reviews and was put off a bit but this hotel was the most convenient for the price I wanted to pay so I decided to chance it and was pleased that I did. The hotel is 10 minutes walk from the train station and the same again into the centre of Leicester and I would definately stay here again. The room wasn't big but was clean and comfortable with a good shower.
There has to be better places to stay in Leicester
Ok, first off, the location. I needed a place near the station as I had never been to Leicester before so this seemed to be the closest. The hotel is indeed easy to find from the station, just turn right as you come out, then right again and follow the main road, it is easy to see at a distance. The hotel is however situated right between two very busy roads on the very edge of the city centre and you have to cross quite a few pedestrian crossings to get to it. I booked my room 2 weeks in advance on the hotels website and when I got... more
bleugh
I like the general Ibis standard, but the room we had had seen better days as it was quite shabby. I don't analyse rooms for cleanliness, but in this case the floor hadn't been hoovered and there were long black hairs decorating the room and bathroom, which were somewhat off-putting. Sound insulation between rooms was alright, but our room was opposite the lift and we could hear everyone coming in and out. Other chain hotels (and ibis itself) usually deliver better value and cleanliness for the price that we paid. One of the... more
Adequate
It was a little further out of the way to reach from the train station. Food was uninspiring. Room cleand but neighbours noisy.
a tardis of satisfaction.....
whilst size reputidly isn't everything it is something that ius a necessity within the realms of an overnight saty. Fro the outside the IBIS looks like a retreat suitable for gerbils, possibly...yet on entrance its warmth and surround invites satisfaction and the desire to investigate further. the rooms are basic yet offer comfort that is far beyond the expected. teh en suite is an indication that while noit bathed in luxury, you will enjoy and certainly get more than you paid for.
