The location of this hotel is excellent. It is a 2 minute walk from the Albert Docks and a 10 minute walk from the City Centre. They charged us the 'Event Rate' which was £75 for 2 nights in a twin room per person. I was not impressed with the standard of the room for... more

good value
This hotel surpassed our expectations for the price we paid. The room was clean and comfortable, the bathroom being unusual but functional, in that it resembles a space capsule. Staff were very pleasant and helpfull, if we needed anything we only had to ask , i.e extra pillows or tea and coffee. The added bonus was that we had a superb view of the up and coming Albert Dock. This was our first experience of an Ibis hotel , we will definitley use them again if this is their usual standard of accommadation.
poor service and expensive
I stayed here for one night, I booked it in March and when I rang to confirm in June they lost our booking, I had to speak to the manager and get it sorted. When we arrived they tried to put another £10 on the room, but reduced it when I said they made a mistake. She just said sorry that's £59.50. When we went back to our room after a night out we couldn't get back in and had to get the card fixed in reception. It was ok for the rest of the start but I found it very expensive and lace of service. The room how ever was clean and view was ok.
Did we stay in the same ibis?!
We stayed for one night in the Ibis as part of a football package. The location of the hotel is nice - albert dock is probably its prettiest part of the city. It's also very close to the city centre which is useful and its also possible to walk there from Anfield (although it will take about an hour). The room itself was clean and fine, if a bit basic (you have to pay a £10 deposit to borrow the hair dryer). The leaflet in the room tells you that check out is at 2.00pm at weekends but we were later told that this was wrong, its at 12.00pm. Breakfast (included in our rate) was ok - the pastries were lovely, the cooked breakfast was inedible - avoid. This is a hotel used by people going to matches or groups of lads/girls going out on the town for the weekend. This does not make for a quiet nights sleep and we had to phone reception about the noise coming from the room next door at 3.00am. Credit has to go to frontdesk who settled the matter quite quickly. All in all, a basic enough place which would be improved by more staff on the front desk with a more cheery attitude! I definitely wouldn't be as positive as previous reviewers!
Reasonably priced -great location
Stayed at the Ibis in September and found it to be clean, the rooms a decent size and the staff very helpful. It is in a great location opposite the Albert Dock and a ten minute walk to the city centre. There is a lounge area,a bar that stays open reasonably late and a restuarant that serves standard fayre at reasonable prices, and ample car parking. All rooms have sky t.v.and are very comfortable. There is internet access in the lounge but at a pound for 9minutes it is a bit pricey. My main gripe is that on 2 of the 4 nights that I spent there I was woken by a siren that I later discovered was a smoke alarm going off by someone smoking in a no smoking room-and the noise is horrendous. This is a situation that really does need to be addressed, and slightly spoilt an otherwise very pleasant stay
Not bad at all
After reading the reviews on here I was a bit nervous about what to expect but this hotel is not bad at all. I was charged a tenner more than usual due to it being the Liverpool Pops weekend, which was a bit of a bummer, but apparently all hotels in the area were doing the same. The staff were pleasant and friendly, both on the phone when booking and behind the counter when we checked in. The rooms are small but adequately equipped, clean with a nice big shower. I've heard complaints about the firm beds but personally I like a firm mattress and I had a very good night's sleep, and was unable to hear any rowdiness outside despite it being a Saturday night. I would avoid staying in a room near the corridoor fire doors as we could hear them slamming faintly in the distance, and there were a few hen night gangs staying there too! A full cooked breakfast was provided for about 7 quid more, it was on until 12 when I stayed so nice for a lie in, though everything had been stewing for a while by that time and was a bit leathery. Still, the breakfast area is airy and pleasant. The location is excellent for the Albert Dock and surrounding area, you are literally 2 mins walk from it all... be prepared to go a bit further if heading to the main city centre.
Nice Hotel but the bed !
The Hotel is situated opposite Albert Dock and provides easy access to Central Liverpool attractions. There is a free car park which is securred by a key code exit (it's supposed to change daily but didn't change at all while I was there). The rooms are okay, liked the design of the shower which gave good freedom of movement (I'm 'big boned' :)). The bed was poor. The mattress was thin and felt like it was just resting on a sheet of plywood. The staff are friendly and the hotel food is fine. Breakfast is pricey and with a large number of eatting options with a few minutes walk I recommend the exercise.
Warm, Friendly Welcome!
Recently stayed at the Ibis for 4 nights and have previously stayed there on a number of occasions. Have always found the staff to be extremely courteous and helpful. Rooms are always clean and bathrooms are lovely. Reception is spacious and comfortable with separate smoking area. Ideally located for access to the Docks, Paradise Bus Station, Ferry to the Isle of Man and Ireland, City Centre and many scenic attractions. Only minutes walk from main shopping area. Would highly recommend!
