Ibis Sheffield South Hotel

We booked 5 rooms at this small but immaculate hotel to attend a wedding in Chesterfield. Very friendly owners, spotlessly clean and attractive bedrooms (single rooms were small but contained everything you needed), first class breakfasts. We also enjoyed a delicious evening meal with visiting family. Good-sized car park within easy walking distance to the town centre. Wouldn't stay anywhere else if returning to Chesterfield - which is a very good centre for visiting Chatsworth, Hardwicke Hall etc. Lovely area to holiday in.

I have been going to the Abbeydale mostly on business for over 15 years and have seen 3 different proprietors, all very welcoming. The current owners, Fin and Else, are very friendly and always take time to have a chat. Fin does most of the serious cooking and of all the times I have stayed there I have never once had cause to complain about the quality and variety of the menu. We booked this hotel as we were attending a wedding at a nearby church the next day. This turned out to be a short stroll away and Else and Finn let us leave our cars in the car park when we checked out to go to the ceremony. We had a relatively small doube room but there was plenty of space to set up out baby's travel cot. I can't recall if they offered us a cot as we were using a travel cot on this trip. Homelike and comfortable, great to come back to after a long ‘stressful’ day at work. Else & Finn are incredibly hospitable, friendly and attentive. A definite recommendation, rooms are great and food is fantastic, overall a very friendly atmosphere.

Comfortable rooms, all different in style and layout. Excellent food. Finn and Else are very friendly owners. Informal and relaxed, but everything works!
