Ibis Chesterfield Hotel

Chose this hotel as it is closest to the Chesterfield Royal Hospital where a family member was a patient. Standard budget hotel. Room was clean and functional if a bit dull. Staff at Reception were very helpful, even taking me out of the hotel to show where I could catch a bus to the hospital. A broken bedside light was fixed promptly. The Ibis has always provided me with a good, clean room. The showers are always clean and hot. The rooms are always warm with the basic facilites you need for a short stay. Granted, this is next to a very busy roundabout and dual carriageway but wiht the windows shut there is never an issue. Adjoinuing rooms availble for family use. Staff have always been helpful and friendly. Even sent on items ihave left behind without charge. Have used it for Business and pleasure. Good resturaunts and pubs within 5 mins stroll. Stayed at this place,checked into my room and walked over toe nail clippings Sat down on filthy stained chair Attempted to escape to the bar area and was surrounded by yobs swearing Just plain BAD in all areas,try Ringwood Hotel at a similar price

Despite being desperate for a place to stay after a long day of driving, we left this hotel less than a minute after entering our room. As wary travelers we always check the beds before settling in, and were horrified to see a proliferation of bed bugs on the box spring. I can't imagine how cleaning staff could not notice such a huge problem. Beware!
