A beautiful country house in landscaped grounds, the interior is extremely elegant. The staff couldn't be more helpful. I asked in an email before we arrived for a room near the spa, and we were the second closest room.
Our (standard) double room was a generous size with a large double bed, armchairs, and a desk. There was a TV but no tea and coffee making facilities.
The bathroom was very clean and the towels soft. We were each provided with a bathrobe which we wore to the spa.
In the spa there were fresh towels, robes, and slippers. We spent a lot of time at the pool area - it's ozone-cleansed rather than chlorine so you don't end up smelling of bleach! We didn't try any of the spa treatments as we filled our time with the pool, Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna.
All the toiletries are Molton Brown - lovely!
Breakfast is fantastic, but be aware there is an additional charge for any hot food. The eggs Benedict was amazing at a cost of just over £6.
We ate in the Oak Room on their Taster Menu - amazing food but pricey at £75 per head. Lots of tiny courses of exquisite flavours. A real special treat.
Highly recommended for a fantastic special weekend.
