Holiday Inn Farnborough Hotel

Stayed here from Thursday 8th June to Sunday 11th June 2006.
Thursday/Friday No real problems
Saturday morning........Husband went to have breakfast had to make three efforts before finding clean plate. I had room service bacon was covered in what can be described as white bits of fat and seemed to have just been thrown on to my plate.
Saturday night...about 7pm heard musical instruments being tuned up lound pitching noises....later got worse eeven telephone was vibrating from the din
........called reception they told me a band was booked for a function until midnight! no mention of this when we booked. We were booked in rooms 35/36 the band sounded as if they were just below us. We had to endure this nuisance of so called music for over 4 hours! until midnight all we had was an apology from the reception desk! if this had occurred at home I would have called the Police and they would have treated it as disturbance of the peace. Holiday Inn Farnborough only offered an apology and there was nothing they could do. We will n ot use this hotel again.
Holiday Inn should allocate rooms more professionally..guests attending noisy functions should be the ones whose rooms should be above their functions NOT guests who just wanted a quiet peaceful weekend break! In alll it costs us over £400 NEVER AGAIN!
