Bit of a rathole
Booked a room (number 130), for one night only, (thank god) at this disappointing hotel. Upon check-in, I was greeted by a young girl with more cleavage on show than Jordan and totally lacking any spark or personality. As soon as I started to walk towards my room (down the dated corridors) I started to feel uneasy. The room itself at first glance looked okay but upon further inspection it was pretty shabby. The net curtain, on the window, was hanging off at the edges, the bathroom ceiling was mouldy and the shower curtain pole was RUSTY! The... more
Needs Big Improvement
It is many years since I have been to this hotel and the first time I have stayed. I was there as part of a team event so we had many rooms booked. I believe Park Inns are starting to spend some money on the site and it sure needs it. The front of house is actually very nice and reception was swift and accommodating. The meeting centre is good although the carpets are looking worn. We had a bbq in the evening and this was excellent and the staff were very friendly. The Sports Bar we retired to later is very good and very... more
Nothing special
A few of us stayed at the Park Inn on 22-June-07. We booked several weeks in advance but there were no doubles left so my husband and I had a premier room whilst the other 2 couples had a standard twin. All the rooms were very basic. Our premier room was in the "Garden Suite". It was on the large side and we had tea/coffee making facilities, biscuits, a free small box of chocolates and a free drink each at the bar. This type of accommodation also entitled us to the use of his & hers fluffy dressing gowns - really spoiled us! The... more
Good Value for Money
Found hotel Ok, Check in was a little slow but eventually got into our room. The room was nice and clean, but a little on the small side, but couldn't complain at the price. It had its own pub attached to the hotel which was nicely done out and we watched the England game on a large screen in there. The breakfast was superb the next day. All in all very good value for money, and would stay again.
Let down at Lakeside
With a very limited choice of accommodation in this area I stayed at this hotel with my mother whilst visiting family. First impressions were not great as on entering you are hit by the overwhelming smell of smoke from the sports bar adjacent to the reception. Next thing was that although I had booked an executive room (with confirmation) I was informed only a standard twin was available. There was no offer of help with the bags even though I was with someone elderly. The rooms have certainly seen better days. Our 'twin' room consisted... more
Friendly Place
I stayed at the hotel while with a conference and found all the front desk staff very friendly, although there were a number of them behind the desk. I was even asked if I wanted help with my bags, a question I had never been asked in a small hotel before. The room I had looked over a patio area, it was very peaceful which helped with my studying. Although the decor in the room seemed a little dated it was always clean and the bathroom was bright and well laid out. I would recommend this hotel to my famliy and friends who wanted to... more
Great Location
We Stayed at the hotel in Late June early July to help some family move to the area and have a lovely time. We were very impressed with the hotel location, so close to the M25/A13 yet you cannot hear a thing. It is also close to both Lakeside & Bluewater shopping centres, and only 20 mintues to the City Of London. Although the hotel in general needs some updating, it was clean and welcoming. The rooms are a good size, with all the amenities you require. The restaurant is beautiful with a good choice of menu for both lunch and... more
Noisy
The hotel its self is lovely, however we were given a room which seemed ok until we came to go to sleep.Underneath our room was a door which was slammed all night by staff,we got no sleep at all. When we told the staff, they just said yes we know.We had a few problems that were greeted with the same response, would not stay there again!!!
oh my god
Oh dear, don't rely on the website to give u any idea's bout this hotel. I had the misfortune of staying here thru work and picked it as the website made it look ok. I thought it was a dump, I am used to staying in nice hotels but can put up with most things if I have to, but I paid over £100 to stay here. The place has a funky smell about it, food was overpriced with staff more interested in giggling with each other and being generally "not bothered" then giving a service. Room was smelly with no tea, coffee milk for tea, etc gave up... more
Lovely Hotel
I have recently stayed overnight at the Park Inn Lakeside. I found all the staff to be very friendly and attentive. My bedroom was very nice and had views of the lovely gardens from the window. The restaurant was beautiful and I enjoyed both dinner and breakfast in there. Overall, my stay was very enjoyable. Good place to stay if visiting friends/shopping in the Thurrock/Dartford area - as close to Lakeside Shopping Centre and Bluewater Shopping Centre. Only a 5 mins drive from Grays Station which has a direct link to Fenchurch Street... more
