The worst run hotel I have stayed in Canterbury. I stayed here for about 3 months during the week whilst I was working away from home. On several occasions my room wasn't cleaned or the bed made.
On two occasions I checked in and when I went to my room it looked like someone else was using it, bed unmade, TV on etc. If they have more than a few guests for breakfast they ran out of orange juice and fruit. This hotel is understaffed, some of the staff are very poorly motivated. The evening barman is the sole waiter in the restaurant, room service was abandoned during my stay and there was frequently no-one on reception for long periods in the evenings.
Some of the rooms are on the ground floor and/or looking out on the pavement and taxi rank, there is a pub right next door with loud music and a Chinese takeaway and kebab shop on the other side. There is currently (May 06) a bit of sprucing up going on, the outside is being painted, but this won't, in my opinion make up for the very limited choice in the bar, the restaurant closing at 9 or the manager going off duty at 6pm.
