I had an incredible time. Came back ready for everything. I only went from Friday 21st - Monday 24th Octobe, hoping to catch a little sun before the UK winter hits.
THE BEACHES ARE FANTASTIC - ALMOST EQUIVALENT TO SOME I'VE SEEN IN THAILAND
The GLASS BOTTOM BOAT is the best experience I have had in a long time - one of the best in my LIFE
There is BEACH after BEACH of island paradise waters. Blue, turquoise, clear waters that make you not believe these places are only 2 hours from the UK - and not somewhere in the Carribbean or Bali or somewhere exotic. Wonderful. There are some jellyfish but these do not matter after a few beers :D:D:D
The hotel is a GOOD PRICE - with GOOD food, FANTASTIC staff, and THE MOST AMAZING VIEW I COULD EVER IMAGINE. The whole harbour, turquoise water - you are METERS from the waters edge. WONDERFUL.
The TV plays ITV SO I EVEN GOT TO WATCH X-FACTOR
The weather - Saturday was wind/rain - SUNDAY MY FRIEND GOT BURNED FROM THE HOT SUN. In October.
The only critcism I have is that the pillows in the hotel are rubbish! Pack your own!
Really fantastic holiday, would love to go for longer and explore some more.
THANK YOU BELSANA

just returned from hotel belsana where we stayed for 5 nights. hotel spick and span rooms cleaned every day as were towels, food was good plenty of variety, staff very friendly and helpful, the pool barman was a great character a bit mad but good fun, could not fault anything. if you want a cheap getaway and are not expecting the ritz would recommend belsana. porto colom is lovely not spoiled by tourism with a large marina nice walking if you like. nice bar just down the road from hotel open till 3am. bus stop 5min walk buses to palma and all resorts along coast. we will be returning to the belsana next year for another peaceful relaxing break. also all the holidaymakers were very nice and friendly

After reading the comments posted on here I was semi dreading it expecting Belsan rather than Belsana, however nicely surprised. Reception staff helpful and friendly on arrival. Apartment huge, especially as there was only 2 of us. Clean towels every day, bathroom mopped, bath and toilet cleaned daily. Beds made daily, not changed but then I only change my own bed once a week!
Food ok never left feeling hungry. Only serve wine and water in dining room however if you stopped at the bar on your way you could take in a drink of your choice.
Evening entertainment a bit dull, except for the girls v guys which was hilarious, take a pack of cards. Drinks served in plastic cups not very eco friendly and soft drinks served in tiny cups which meant more trips to the bar, to work off the evening meal!!
Beach 10 mins away and lovely very clean - watch out for jellyfish, didnt spend much time by the pool as my partner snorkels, but the guy on the bar is nuts and very busy - please be patient with him.
The staff overall were fine, if you are rude to them they will be rude back, obvious really.
I had a lovely holiday, paid £380 for a week all inc, came back fully rested and would recommend hotel Belsana to anyone

On the whole my wife and I enjoyed our stay here.
The room was clean, although the beds were not made very often except by our selves.
The food was better than expected and reasonabley varied.
The night time entertainment was virtually non existant except for live acts on Saterday evenings.
Day times were spent around the 1st floor pool where the best entertainment came from the over worked bar man who never had a day off in the 2 weeks we were there. He made the days pass with lots of fun.
This is in contrast with the evening bar staff who hardly ever smiled and did not seem to like filling the glasses with your drink without porompting.

We arrived at the hotel close to midnight our room was not ready and we were given an alternative room the room was small very musty and had 2 single beds pushed together against the wall and a camper bed right next to it. With no cot for the baby. if we stayed in this room we would have had to to climb over eachother or make our way to the bottom of the bed to get out. these rooms are obviously double rooms but there cramming more in. Ok if your with family but we travelled as friends with our children. The next room we were given was abit better that was in line with the pool. Still very small tho. The only advantage of this room was that you could climb over the balcony to the pool area or we would have to of struggled up the 20 steps with a pram.
No disabled access at all! There was one lady in a wheel chair that could not walk and the hotel expected her to climb over the balcony appalling.
entertainment was pretty much bingo every night and if you didnt save the ticket that u paid for u didnt get to play the free games when that was all that was available. when we asked if there was anything other than bingo the awful entertainment women said its september what do you expect???? we had paid august prices so you expect abit more. there were afew things organised for the kids that was would come back from the beach ready on time for football there were afew kids there at the set time and the women would turn up 30-40mins later when everyone had given in and gone to do something else. they offer a service to take the kids to the beach for 2 hours on the friday again 4-5 kids and she didnt even turn up that time. even the mini dicso for the kids was supposed to start at 8.30 and she would turn up dressed up to the nines at 8.50. there was not alot of involvement from the entertainer where they would normally teach the kids the dance moves through out the week. Can I have her job please???
drinks were given out 2 per person in the smallest of plastic cups you were only allowed 2 at atime and wouldnt give you any extra spirits or anything the qs were so long all the time by time you got back to your chair the drink had nearly evaporated and u had to go stand in the q again. u would think the staff have to pay for the drinks themselves and it was coming out of there own pockets. no pint pots for the boys.
the area is gorgeous and you can see the sea and the lighthouse just need to remove the belsana and put something abit more decent in its place. i heard that a women got threaten by the staff that she would be arrested if she complianed any more thats nice isnt it?

Ive not long been back from this Hotel and really dont understand what all the 1/10 reveiws are about!! We are a young couple with a 9 year old daughter and thourghly enjoyed our 7 night stay. Ive stayed in 5 star accomodation before and payed 5 star prices and true this is not 5 its 3 star and as such you get what you pay for. Hotel was very clean rooms cleaned everyday towels and bedding also changed daily! Pool cleaned every day I know this because our room faced the pool and the sea and i watched the guy do it every evening. Our room was an average size not big but very comfortable for 3 and modern bathroom was fine as was the decor and too the person complaining that the tv was too small!! "do you really go on holiday to watch tv"??
Only minor complaint was the plastic glasses for drinks they were small but who cares when you can keep going back for more! longest we had to que at bar was 5 mins and thats nothing. Drinks were fine coke was proper coke and larger is san miguel vodka is not smirnoff but tasted fine. All in all if you want a cheap holiday in a quite resort with a lovely beach and clean hotel then you wont be disapointed with this place or least you shouldnt be. A holiday is what you make it met some great people and really were gutted to be coming home!

Entertainment virtually non existant, cheap and very very nasty.
One barmaid on virtually all night, plastic glasses, very poor quality drinks.
Hotel room is cleaned to a bare minimum ie,mirror not cleaned at all, bath not cleaned.
Pool area, floor not cleaned, constant drink spillage results in sticky floor.
Food ,plates and glasses dirty"food still stuck to plates" from previous wash, food itself is predictable and limited choice.
Since we arrived the toilets which have only two urinals for the whole of the entertainment, reception, restuarant area has had only one urinal working, graffiti litters the toilet doors, very poor.
The reception decor is tired, settees are tired and dirty, lighting is harsh overall a bit of a dump.
Location wise it could be fantastic, views are the best I have seen some of the staff are quite nice, but unless you are on a basic budget you will like my family has done have to go out EVERY night to have a decent drink and find entertainment.Everyone we spoke to feels the same.USE WITH CAUTION AND DO NOT RE BOOK.

Flight was fine, kids all excited, arrived at Palma and was told they only had 1 person down for transferes, 4 people in party!!...After a short conversation where i told them iv paid, they agreed to take us.....arrived at Hotel, lovely, friendly man on reception,(name jesus) however we had no room booked according to them, thank god i printed reservations off, room was basic but its just to shower, change and sleep so didn mind...kids and mum were happy apart from damp smell that we told the cleaner about, she came in, had a smell and walked away never to be seen again!!
Food was ok, kids always found something to eat (chips) and i lived off salad and fruit....poolbar was the best an the barman was very funny at times when he wasnt shouting numbers at you that you couldn understand!!......Always a queue for everything which annoyed me alittle bit but meet some nice people whilst waiting!
More than enough sunbeds but not enough parasols.
We where able to keep our room till 6.30 at a cost but made life alot easier with the children.
Transferes back where a nightmare, again just 1 person on list, spent most of last day on phone trying to sort it out as the emergancy number Suns4u provided didn work!!
Reception let me use phone for free whilst i rang the UK a million times, finally a woman in Spain sorted it for me and i was able to relax and enjoy the last few hours before i flew home......Overall, fantastic view, made some nice friends and got a lovely suntan, i would have liked more variety but kids had fantastic time, they made friends and it was a nice quiet holiday, just what the doctor ordered...would i go back, not their but cala d'or, maybe...more to do and alittle bit more variety for all of us.
Holiday lovely, tour opererators craps...lots of people had problems with Suns4u, would NOT use them again even if they where giving away holidays!!

The worst holiday I have ever been on.
When we arrived and went in the check in area our first impressions were good. It was nice and clean and tidy and a full board to tell you about the entertainment and 2 computers. They immpressions went away very soon when we went in our room.
The rooms are absoluetley tiny one slide cupboard at the door and 2 very small drawers at the side on the 2 single beds pushed together. A very small television sat on a desk next to the single beds. A couch bed and been fitted in a small space. The bathroom was horrible the toilet stank of urine and there was lots of damp at the bottom of the shower curtain.
We went out to find somewhere to eat as we arrived just after dinner had finished. The streets stink of sewage which wasn't very pleasant.
When we came back and went to bed the beds were really uncomfartable.
The poolside looked as if it had never been cleaned it was practically black. The pool bar opened at 12:00 and closed at 16:00 so I don't know why in the website they say snacks served all day. Habbee who is the crazy barman is the best staff member there. Asun (staff member) would only let you have 2 drinks at a time so you would have to queue up again.
Nothing in Porto Colom to do during the day. Bar Citrus is the only thing and that was great. Owned by English people who have a play area for little kids, air hockey,a pool table,a parrot that amused the kids, a PS3 and PS2 with more than 10 games and a laptop that you can use anytime and the electronic stuff is for free the only things you have to pay for is the Air Hockey and Pool Table.
On the day we were going back we had a slot for the courtosy room which wasn't the room it was the indoor pool. The entrance is next to the tiny stage and when your going through the corridor to the "courtousy room" stinks of damp in the room you can't breath there is no windows that open or ventilation you couldn't use the pool because you couldn't breath. The jucuizze and the sauna don't work the showers are disgusting and there is damp all over the walls and we were as quick as possible to get out.
Cala D'or is next door to Porto Colom which is much better and we would definitley go there for a holiday much better than Porto Colom so I advise you not to go Hotel Belsana.
Also two of the receptionists which were both ignorant people were an older English woman and a younger blonde woman were very bad at they're jobs. We had complained about the courtesey room which was stinking of damp the younger woman who we complained to her words were "Sorry I did not know that" of course someone knew that or that just shows that they don't clean that room. Later on they were clearly talking about us about us on what we had said earlier which we are really annoyed about.
In the aparthotel which is next to the hotel there was a theft. Which they don't know who it was.
The maids just make your beds. If you want clean towels or clean bed sheets you have to dump the on the floor or they don't change them.
So i think you get the just of it don't go to Hotel Belsana in Porto Colom.

We stayed in the Aparthotel, about 50 yards from main complex. This was fine and had the most splendid views across the bay. Quite basic inside, uncomfortable (no back syupport at all) beds but clean enough.
Food was OK to begin with but we soon got fed up with the choices and odd combinations on offer and the very poor quality meat used, I don't recall seeing tripe on the menu anywhere else I have stayed. Not helped by Basil Fawlty's Spanish love child running the restaurant (looks like Manuel, acts like Basil... whats happening there?) who was trying to move my sons table away while we were all eating our meals (3 tables for 2 pulled together, do you remember the Lord Melbury episode? Fantastic).
The guys who runs the pool bar is a real character (described elsewhere on this page a a pshyco, reminds me of the Spanish Inquisition torturer from Black Adder 2) anyway we liked him and less stressful than the restaurant, the other bar staff were also nice.
Pool is OK plenty of sunbeds but a depressing queue waiting with their towels at opening up time, all brits...come back you Germans all is forgiven!
In fact the queing is what really got to me most, you have to queue for all cold drinks! Other places I've been to just let you help yourself to all but the booze but here it was literally everything so there is always a line of kids wanting pop of various kinds.
Very quiet resort, not much to do but no loutish nightlife to keep you awake either.
Long ride on the resort hopper made all my kids feel sick, I'd hire a car to this location.
Very poor facilities for the last day after being promised a courtesy room.
On balance I wouldn't go back.

Having recently come back from the Hotel Belsana, I can say that, although on reading some of the reviews before going and being a little apprehensive, the hotel on the whole was good enough and most of the staff were very polite and helpful, particularly the reception staff, there was ample food for all and plenty of sunbeds around the pool area, although you still have to get there early as the parasols are very limited, however, in saying that you have to get there early they now keep the door locked to the pool area until around 9.00am.
For anyone liking a pint, beware, all drinks are served in small plastic glasses and only 2 per person, which is ok for couples, but not very good for families or larger parties. Also beware of the bar manager "Miguel", get on the wrong side of him and he will try to make your holiday hell. There was a war of attrition between my husband and miguel every night . Although it stated that the All Inclusive ran to midnight there was a notice in the bar that said "All Inclusive drinks finish at midnight, last orders 11.45pm - this is misleading as the staff are sent out to do the clearing up making it difficult to get a drink and you could not get a drink after 11.45. If you were prepared to pay you had to wait until 12.01 to be able to get a drink. The prices after 12.00 were also rather steep, two vodka & cokes were 14 Euros. Before we left the management did change the notices in the bar to clarify the point thast All Inclusive finishes at 11.45pm.
Porto Colum is very pretty and I would certainly return, but not to the Belsana.

We booked this last minute and was really pleased with everything for the first week of our stay. The pool is great for little kids and older ones as the childrens area is like a paddling pool depth and separated from the main pool by a barrier. The pool area was clean and tidy and the food and drinks from the pool bar are great. The restaurant has lots of choice of food and the breakfasts are great. Even had Assam tea- my favourite!
The second week was the start of the school hols and the hotel was full. The pool bar couldn't cope with demand for food etc as there is only one guy working on it as best he can. The restaurant wasn't always cleared or the tables relaid in time and had to wait for a table. The food was very repetative after the first week and there is always chips pizza and a meat choice covered in garlic! Veg was lovely though and so were the ice creams.
Very helpful staff all round the hotel. Those that complained that the staff were rude were some of the rudest people I've met! The noise of people banging their doors late at night was a bit troublesome but nothing a couple of earplugs didn't fix. All in all a good place to stay and a lovely quiet resort with a fab beach.
