We have been to this Hotel 4 times now and also to the Apartments twice. If there is another Hotel that has a better view than the belsana then i would like to see it. I get fed up of reading the bad reviews on this hotel, ...the food is fine and if you cannot find enough to eat from something like 20 different dishes then you should stay elswhere. There is always different choices and i have never once come away from the restaurant feeling hungry.Breakfast is full English /cereal/fruit juices / yoghurts / tea / coffee etc.
The pool is lovely and the surroundings are a sun trap for sun bathers. The guy behind the bar is called zavi and is a crackpot having a laugh with all the guests and i have never found him to be rude or offensive. The only down side to this hotel is that it is in a very quiet position and there is not a lot going on in the evenings, ....but this is what a lot of people want from their holidays. The holiday is what you make it, many friends to meet and there are other bars nearby but not the big noisey ones like in magalluf etc.We hire a car an drive about in the evenings and stay by the pool / or nearby shops etc during the day......try it you will like it. and take no notice about the negative reports, some people want 5 star for 3 star hotels.going back in july for 2 weeks again!!!!!!!!

  • Advice: plenty of beaches nearby and enough to amuse yourself even if you just want a quiet time.

A great holiday and good value

Our first venture into an 'All inclusive' holiday was met with great trepidation after reading many of the reviews.
We need not have worried, Jesus, the friendly guy in reception made us most welcome and checking in was very fast particularly as we arrived 0130 hrs; we were settled in our room in no time at all.
The room was clean, beds clean, bathroom clean, towels clean.. nothing to grumble about at all.
The food was varied and plentiful and of high standard. Even loads of choice for vegetarians. Chips were served with all meals but there were other potato options to choose from. Being on chip free diet at home the choice of chips with every meal was a joy.
All of the staff were a delight and so friendly.
Javier who ran the pool bar was a fab character, funny, sang a lot but was attentive and helpful. Not too sure why some of the reviewers had such a down on him, he was brilliant fun.
We had a wonderful time and even i could not find anything to moan about ... I could usually could give Victor Meldrew a run for his money.
Thank you all at the Balsana

The worst hotel ever

My experience of living on this hotel, is the worst ever, for 2 days I did not get my room cleaned, the furniture on the balcony was dirty and so was the floor I cleaned it myself with a towel that did get black, and towels I did get myself in the reception between Monday and Friday, because the cleaning-lady did forget to leave any to me. I ASKED FOR A COMPENSATION, and did after much struggle get a small bottle of soap/gel, and the day before I was leaving I did get the checking out time 3 hours later, I asked for 21 euro but the Manager Mass owner of this hotel said no! IF YOU WANT TO LIVE ON A DIRTY HOTEL THAT NEVER GIVES A PROPER COMPENSATION NO MATTER WHAT MISSTAKE THEY HAVE DONE- CHECK IN ATT HOTEL HOTETUR BELSANA. There food was boring and the same to 95%= I did get out of the hotel to eat on resturants instead

May 2010, sunny

from the moment we got there even the kids wanted to go home, the scary man in snack bar who shouted at everyone terrified the kids, entertainment was none, rooms were stinking, food was discusting, even put my kids off chips as they were sick of the sight of them!! very boring, staff were rude and ignorent ALL OF THEM, WASNT ONE NICE MEMBER OF STAFF!! we met some lovely people who had same views and we all thought same, my daughter actually came down ill so when i asked member of staff on reception desk if any doctors or chemist around they just shrugged shoulders and walked of, lucky it wasnt anything serious, we all couldnt get home quick enough, it actaully put me of goin abroad for a while and this holiday wasnt even cheap!! now i get lots of reviews and recomendations before i book as this plaace put us off going abroad

ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!!!

When i was booking my holiday i was taking a toddler and teenager so wanted a variety of entertainment, We got non, even after reading good reveiws about their entertainment there was nothing. First impressions of seeing the reception area was really nice. Entering the room soon changed our minds, When we enterd the room we decided to take a look around, took one glimps at the toilet and what only can be described as POO!!! was on the actual seat, luckly there was a member of staff out side. We showed her the problem, but we had to intureupt her using her mobile whilst working to clean this for us, she asked up why we were complaining and left the room. We had to go to the shop to buy cleaning essentials and clean it our selves. The FOOD!. Food wasn't up to much with a choice of the same meals everyday (CHIPS AGAIN WHIPPPEEE). The drinks were served in plastic cups which were spilt very easily. The aparthotel pool was on a cliff which was a nice veiw with lots a sunloungers, however the fencing around was all broken and so near the cliff this didnt feel safe especially with young children around. After the lack of entertainment in the hotel we decided to visit the nearby places and found nothing apart from the beach which was lovely but that isnt exsactly what i would call entertainment.
so all in all a bad hotel like i said ENTER AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!
Ohh one more thing don't be taken in about the crazy man upstairs he's not fun he was really annoying, and actually scared my toddler with all the shouting he does..

welll i have one thing to say first of all the mini toaster was great i mean it had two revolving platforms. who does not love rotating toast. the pool there was fantastic and if you stayed in an apartment there was a seperate pool just for you. the views were lovely and so was the crrazzzy bar man habbee he was all the entertainmnt we needed. there was a cool beach near bye and all the people staying at the hotel were friends you should keep forever. and to all the people who are leaving negative reviews haha because the hotel is pretty much fully booked!

We have just returned from the Hotel Belsana, 2 adults and 2 children (11 & 9) and have to say it was great. We arrived at 0200hrs and were welcomed by Jesus, lovely man and very helpful. We were at check-in for about 5 mins and then up to the room. The room is basic but good enough, cleaned daily with a view over the tennis court. We were hoping for a sea view but as it turned out our room was better as we had no noise from the pool or the nightime entertainment. We had no noise from other guests at night and all got a good nights sleep every night.
The breakfast/lunch/dinner buffet was basic but we never went without something to eat, just hope you like garlic!
The beach is fabulous and about 10 mins away however the pool is good for most people. The sun shade umbrellas are at a premium though so make sure you get to the pool for 9am or you may not get one. Javi works behind the pool bar and is friendly but not overly so.
As in all Spanish resorts the locals appreciate it when you try to speak their language i.e. un cerveza pour fa vour (1 beer please) (sorry about the spelling there) and I thought we were better treated as a result of trying. There has been a retail expansion recently in Porto Colom in that there are now at least 4 shops all selling the usual inflatables and trinkets etc.
All in all we loved it, it is quiet, no night life to speak of, just a quiet relaxing family holiday.
We will be going back asap.

  • Advice: Small, quiet and unspoilt.
  • Activities: The beach is lovely and the views postcard-like.

having read previous reviews we wern't sure what we were letting ourselfs infore. We did not have to worry staff helpful apartment very clean towels changed daily linen changed weekly. The food and choice was superb we never had the same thing twice. The hotel is in a fabulous location overlooking the bay and the lighthouse beyond, the resort of Porto Colom is very quiet and lacks the sophistication of nearby Cala D'or but the beach (cala masala)is the twin of cala gran beach at cala d'or but without the crowds.
If you want a quiet relaxing holiday the belsana wont dissapoint we arrived back 26-05-09 and i would have rated this hotel 10 if there had been more entertainment but the season is just starting, and also parasols are sparse at the rooftop pool area but all in all great value for money and no problems getting a drink last orders 11-30pm

We arrived and was initially in a hotel room, we then moved to one of the apartments, great space, but it was never cleaned at all the whole duration we as a family was there. We asked for this to be done and complained more than once, the recpetion said "This sometimes happens, they forget to clean the rooms and empty bins" Not the bestest of answers with a two year old in nappies.
Food Crap, cold, everyday nearly the same, what was left at breakfast was at dinner, that was then disguised at team time, and then again the following morning at breakfast. No drinks other than water and beer to drink, staff miserable to say the least, bar horrendous, stupid plastic glasses and whilst we was there, only one serving at the bar all the time we was there.
No entertainment for little ones at all, day or night. Beware of the outside of the hotel looking onto the sea, this is used by the locals to walk there dogs, the remains stayed there once the dog had gone!
We complained about the noise from the apartment above, full of young lads, nothing was done, nop sleep the week we was there either.
My husband slipped on a wet slippery floor in the dining hall, and has been in and out of plaster ever since (8 months ago, and still ongoing).
We have never had a bad experience in visiting all areas of Majorca, on all board basis's, but this is the worst we have ever encountered, venture to this hotel at your peril!

BRILLIANT

I had an incredible time. Came back ready for everything. I only went from Friday 21st - Monday 24th Octobe, hoping to catch a little sun before the UK winter hits.
THE BEACHES ARE FANTASTIC - ALMOST EQUIVALENT TO SOME I'VE SEEN IN THAILAND
The GLASS BOTTOM BOAT is the best experience I have had in a long time - one of the best in my LIFE
There is BEACH after BEACH of island paradise waters. Blue, turquoise, clear waters that make you not believe these places are only 2 hours from the UK - and not somewhere in the Carribbean or Bali or somewhere exotic. Wonderful. There are some jellyfish but these do not matter after a few beers :D:D:D
The hotel is a GOOD PRICE - with GOOD food, FANTASTIC staff, and THE MOST AMAZING VIEW I COULD EVER IMAGINE. The whole harbour, turquoise water - you are METERS from the waters edge. WONDERFUL.
The TV plays ITV SO I EVEN GOT TO WATCH X-FACTOR
The weather - Saturday was wind/rain - SUNDAY MY FRIEND GOT BURNED FROM THE HOT SUN. In October.
The only critcism I have is that the pillows in the hotel are rubbish! Pack your own!
Really fantastic holiday, would love to go for longer and explore some more.
THANK YOU BELSANA
