Kas is a fantastic little place. From the moment we arrived I had a great time. We went on a diving break, and if you want a fantastic dive company to go with look no further than Sirena Dive run by Hakan Nalcaci. The team that he works with are all very professional and friendly, the boat was clean and tidy at all times, and the dives they took us on were great, especially the Canyon, which is more for advanced divers.
Where we stayed, the hotel begonville, the people running it didn’t speak loads of English, but the rooms were very cute and original, actually felt like I was in Turkey not just an identikit resort. Lovely traditional Turkish breakfasts each day too and only a 10 minute walk into the town square.
Kas is great for relaxing, the tea gardens in the centre of the town are really chilled and you can sit there for hours over a drink.
Day trips are really easy to go on from Kas with the local Ottogar (bus stop) within walking distance and the cost for taking a trip on the shared dolmus was only a few £s.
Trips that I'd really recommend are - taking a Dolmus to Patara for the amazing 18Km white sandy beach and interesting ruins. And you must go to Kekova and visit the ruins of the castle, a really nice guide took us right to the top and insisted on showing us every single feature in the place.
The only thing I would say is watch out for Thomas Cook who took us there, we flew into Antalya which is 3 hours drive from Kas each way. On the return flight they didn’t bother to tell us the flight time had changed and we and about 80 others ended up spending 5 hours at the airport. Not happy!
Go to Kas, its great, a weeks break including diving and all food and excursions was less than a grand for 2. Bargain!
