Friendly Staff - Avoid this tired travelodge!
from happyguzzlers
The extremely friendly staff are the only positive point about this Travelodge. If anyone is unfortunate enough to be offered the full £55 rate for this room - forget it! No glass in the corridor fire doors, broken safety catches on the first floor windows, slippery and dangerous bath areas sum up our experience here. Even if the £15 rate is available at this hotel I would not stay again due to the lack of regard for basic health and safety. Find another hotel and avoid until Travelodge decide to re-furbish.
Still awaiting refurbishment!!!
from kmkuwap
We have stayed here quite a few times and each time it seems that there are a few more problems. We have stayed in the room with the hole in the wall, had a TV that didn't work and this last time noticed that the glass was missing from a fire door. The staff are always friendly in trying to assist but the hotel is really in need of some investment. The Little Chef in the service area has now closed down and there is a 24 hour Costa Coffee instead. The outdoor play area which was OK a few years ago has been neglected and might as well not be...

good overnight stay
from A TripAdvisor Member
stayed again at the medway travelodge for a bargain £15 for a family room.i agree with previous reviews.place is starting to look tired.but is ok for a nights stay only.room we were given was clean, did not smell of anything .and we had a very quiet night.which is rare for a travelodge.breakfast which is offered is better avoided .not worth the money.find your nearest supermarket and have breakfast there,a lot cheaper.there is a vending machine in the foyer and public phone.the staff are the best part of the travelodge.always friendly.if...

You can definitely do better!
from chickaroonee
Paid £50 for 1 night stay, booked directly on travelodge website. Now I know these are basic hotels, but this really isn't the usual travelodge standards which are no-frills, but good for a (cheap) bed for the night. This hotel is tired and in need of a good clean. The first room we were given absolutely stank of smoke, even though it is a non-smoking hotel. We asked to be moved and were given another room. This room had its own problems: hairs in the bath, a shower that I couldn't get any hot water from and a generally tired room....

staff great but directors hang your heads in shame!
from bird-fan
i have stayed at the medway now for 3 years and will stay again at £26-£15.at £50 its not worth it.the staff are working under a lot of pressure caused by head office.the previous *bagged* breakfast was good, now its a kelloggs (cheap and nasty ) one with the worst orange juice ive ever tasted! plus a couple of *grainbars* instead of croissants and jam.some bright spark at travel- lodge uk has also decreed that 2 people only need TWO tea bags for a nights stay! do they limit themselves the same at the head office?.the extractor fan didnt...

At 15 GBP a bargin, but would not pay more
from lled2
I booked a couple of months in advance and got the room for 15 GBP per night. I would say that that is all it is worth and would not pay more. This Travelodge really does need a refurbishment and considering the fact that the car park was full every night I am sure Travelodge should consider doing so. The room was a good size and sufficient for two adults and one small child. A larger family would need two rooms. The rooms did look very "used" there was a small hole in our wall leading to the bathroom which was just filled...

Oops - far from their best hotel but staff helpful.
from BluecloudUK
Stayed here last weekend of April 07. Arrived quite late and found the car park almost full. We had booked a family room but as there had been a change in plans and we were kidless, we asked for a disabled friendly room. There was one available very close to reception. The room was okay, apart from the crusty sock left on the floor next to the bed. The bathroom sink had small traces of toothpaste in it from the last customer. On the whole, the hotel is starting to look a little tired and in need of some renovation...

Dreadful, Dreadful, Dreadful
from KentKatie
Dreadful place to stay. The room was filthy when we eventually got a key to it - check-in very slow. Expected cheap and cheerful as we pre-booked it on Internet for £26 but got cheap and woeful. Family room was tiny and when all the beds were out for the kids there was nowhere to walk in it. But the worst thing was the dirt. When I told the receptionist that the room wasn't clean she came down to inspect it and agreed that it was dirty. She then took us to two other rooms which were worse !!!! She then said she would clean the room for us...
