Comfortable and pleasant hotel
We had the four poster room which was a good size, clean and quiet. We were pleased with the overall cleaniness of the hotel, the helpfullness of the staff and the location next to the Leas.
Lovely building, patchy hotel
We stayed at the Burlington for one night in a standard double room as part of a short break. The building itself is a very attractive, grand old seaside hotel and the ground floor and public areas are impressive. Our room, however, gave a different impression. Situated on the top floor (3rd) at the back of the hotel it was very small (think small guest house room) with tired, cheap decor, a little tatty and in need of redecorating. Someone had had the bright idea of painting the relief details and beading of the fitted wardrobes garish... more
In need of modernising
We stayed at this hotel as a family member used it for their wedding. The hotel itself is quite old and showing it's age. We booked a family room and where given a large room with 1 set of twin beds and 2 single beds. The room was clean and tidy but the decor and furniture was extremely dated and looking a bit tired. The bathroom was massive, but again looking a bit dated. It is probably one of the biggest hotel rooms and bathrooms I've stayed in, but like they say, size isn't everything. Breakfast was included in the price and was... more

Lovely old building in a convenient location. We had a comfortable room with a good size bathroom (first floor) and paid £79 per night bed & breakfast for two. Weather was dire over Easter so we were glad the hotel was well heated. All the staff were nice and the food was very good (we ate in the bar every night because we'd already lunched out). Only tip is not to park by the flag poles (which the Big seagulls love to perch on!). We stayed four nights but it was never warm/dry enough to venture into the garden nor to walk on the... more
Overnight stay on route to and from Disneyland Paris
My husband and I along with our two boys (10 & 13) stayed here after a very long journey from Scotland on our way to Disneyland Paris. The staff were very welcoming no matter what time you arrived at, on our return journey from France we arrived at 11pm and the staff were just as cheerful as they had been during the day. We sampled evening meals from room service and breakfast, all were delicious. Beds were extremley comfortable and rooms were spacious and well stocked with tea/coffee. Overall an enjoyable experience and we would... more
Fine for one night
Given some of the dire reviews for other hotels in Folkestone, this seemed a reasonable option for a one-night stay - which it was. The public areas looked very impressive in a slightly faded Edwardian grandeur kind of way. This style really fits in with its location on the clifftop. It's a very pleasant 5-10 minute seaside walk to the Lees Cliff Hall - it would be quite a bit further to the harbour and main shopping area. The room was up on the 3rd floor. It was a very compact double and would have felt claustrophobic for a... more
Fantastic!!!
Stayed for weekend for a private party. Everything was wonderful!!! Nice staff, well organised. Good food & service. Pleasant rooms. Overall very good value for money! Thanx for memorable weekend.
Excellent
I have to say this is one of the best hotels I have stayed at it terms of customer service and value for money. I found the management (TA) to be extremely professional contributing to a hassle free stay. My room was excellent and outstanding value for money.
Bad service - gone bad!!
I cannot express the horrendous service I received from this hotel. Firstly, I have to say that it had nothing to do with the cleanliness/food or facilities the building offered, and to a level, the staff. BUT the management team were appauling. After completely messing my booking up and putting me in an alternative hotel which was absolutely filthy and was worth half the cost, I was treated with total disrespect when making a complaint about it. The Manager responsible made himself scarce every time I tried to talk to him and to top the... more
Quality Hotel is a joke
I have stayed at many hotels over the years but I have to say this is the WORST hotel I have ever stayed at! The management were a joke who did not have the first idea about customer service. Everything was too much trouble, from room service to actually speaking to the guests. We were so unhappy with the service and attitude of the staff we asked if we could check out early and have a refund for the fourth night, which we were told would be fine. When we did check out (having cancelled trains to accomadate our new arrangements) we... more
