Ola Aparthotel Cecilia

me and my wife stayed late september to early october 2010 had a really good time yes appartment basic but we where out all day no ants clean sheets and towels regular very quite and the cockrel never botherd us we have one at home so used to it nice pool area close to the beach and plenty of places to eat ideal for the bus to the markets and bus fares very cheap we have already booked to go this year.

Everyone always seems to down these apartments, but at the end of the day if you want 5+ star accommodation you have to pay for it ,because every negative comment relates to service.The accommodation is basic but clean and is *** (3 Star) I have stayed in Cecilia many times and the staff could not be more helpfull,happy & always very courteous,people have to remember that you are in a different country (with lots of sunshine) and cultures are different.The only downside i have of Cecilia is the pool is not very safe for children of the age 5- 12 if they are not confident swimmers.The beach is stunning and the surrounding area also, its a taste of real Spain so if your looking for a Magaluf, Santa Ponsa , Falaraki ECT dont go,There are many people who return year after year and yes there are changes since the economic downturn but still the same nice friendly local people and tourist if you take the negative head off and try to mingle. Resteraunts around the Cecilia are very good Vista Sol opposite the Cecilia is very cheap and has a good freindly atmosphere, if you want to go more up market there are plenty of expensive resteraunts at the old harbour.At the end of the day a holiday is what you make it.I take my hat of to the hard working staff of Cecilia for building up many repeat and happy clients.

after reading the reviews i was really worried about where we were going, but when we arrived i was pleasantly surprised, our apartment was basic but clean no sign of any ants, didnt hear the cockerel once, apart from in the day time not early hours of the morning, the pool was clean although deep for younger children, the staff were very friendly. the only thing i would say is that the evening meals were not really catered for around children.all in all we had a great time, we went for a quiet relaxing holiday and that was what we had.

entertenment a joke 8.30 to 9 kids entertement if kids were there then bingo 9.30 to 10.30 if thy got tickets if not nothing, 10.30 to 11 entertenment if you did not wont to play then no show, bar closed at 11 then by 12 all locked up nothing to do in town so you went to bed some holiday

we arrived at 9pm and checked in and went 4 lovely meal over road at solvista so friendly and meal lovely!room on 2nd floor {ant free and vry clean} ok basic and cud do with a kettle and toaster but large balcony andclean beds we upgraded 2all inclusive after buying a one day a/inc ticket 2 try food great value!we enjoyed the food (loved the late breakfasts !]EVERY AREA IN AND AROUND HOTEL VERY CLEAN our towels were changed 4 times and bedding 3 times during our 10 day stay loved pool beach trips out[service buses cheap and frequent]hired a car for a day and went 2 palma[expensive 2park tip go by normal bus everywhere and avoid excursions]hotel staff work tirelessly!did not meet with ANY rudeness at all didnt queue long at bar evening entertainment fun!all in all we had a very relaxing holiday met some lovely people and after all your holiday is what YOU make it!def give this holiday a try

came to this hotel aug/sept all inclusive to find that the management here have got no idear how to run a hotel they oviously havent got children as they do not like children definately the wrong business to be in i would say.the police was called out on a number off occasions for children dive bombing in the pool/spilling drinks/ basically being children they use to be questioned if they needed another all inclusive band and was told they are going home, told off for seating on massage chairs,ignored drinks at the bar also stopped from using the pool after the lifeguard pulled them out by their hair.the bar staff/activities team was great they made the holiday. food very competitive, rooms ok, area was ok close to beach. maybe if the management was to change would be a good place, but at the moment definately dont recommend it.

After a 1 and a half hour coach journey, we arrived at the reception with 30 minutes for diner to finish. We then went up to our hotel room, VERY basic. We checked the room and the bathroom was swarming with ants. We trecked down back to the reception to inform about the ants and the receptionist was shocked. So we moved room and the very next day, they moved someone new into our old room and they had the same problem with the ants! The bar was a joke, 2 small plastic cups per adult and only 1 per child. Again, the bar was crawling with ants. In the restraunt, we spotted ants actually on the food, crawling up the walls and all over the floor. The minimal selection of deserts were left for over 5 hours and sometimes left for evening deserts. The little pool for children was only just big enough to fit one child in and in the big pool, an adult could only just reach the bottom in the shallow end, NOT a place for children. The "chemical cleaning" of the pool was a man with a net with 5 minutes. The satelite telly that the website boasted was sky news or BBC world news, this was pathetic. The entertainment was loud and lasted until 1am EVERY night. A "fun team" member came round the pool asking children to play ice cube spitting, how higenic! Water polo was played every day and hit many people and the staff didn't even have the decency to say sorry. On our day of departure, we were waiting round for 2 hours, trying to waste time. A reporter came into the hotel trying to get people to report about the hotel and it was going out live on spanish TV that night. The maneger came stropping out pushing the camera away, aware of the bad pres the hotle has. DO NOT stay here, unles you want to be on holidays from hell. Definitaly the worst hotel we have stayed in.

I booked a week holiday for my husband and I as it was his birthday. On arriving at the apartment I informed the staff and asked if they could arrange any thing special for my husband. Heard nothing. We booked all enclusive, DONT, its a complete waste of time. Accomodation very basic, ants every where. Fisrt day no water or electric. Second day hired a hairdryer from reception, but every time you used it it tripped the electric! Pool very small full of inflatables not for swimming. Beach nice but dirty, bits of rubbish every where. Food was ok if you like chips and beans, very basic. Drinks are awful , served in plastic cups, small plastic cups. Even the coffee was in plastic cups. Guests were made to queue up if they were all enclusive which was very poor service. I will not be returning, very dissapointed as this was my husbands big birthday, sounded much nicer than it actually was.

Stayed at these apartments in July 2010. Apartments were infested with ants, even in the bedding. You will need to buy an ant spray at the local supermarket. Spray every day to keep the ants away. Also saw a rat in the gardens beneath the balcony. Chickens and cockrel were ok, apart from the early morning wake up call.
Would not go to these apartments again.

OK positives first:
The resort itself is really nice, the beach is excellent and the sea is lovely to swim in. Juan the barman was a top guy, very friendly and always cheerful. The Funteam are very friendly and good with the kids. The reception staff are also very friendly. The room was basic but served it's purpose and the air con was very welcome too!
Now the negatives:
The queue for all inclusive drinks at night is LONG!!!! and when I mean long i mean it stretches from the bar to just outside. After you've queued all that time you only get 2 drinks in small plastic cups. There's only one member of staff on the bar ALL night which conveniently increases to 3 when all inclusive ends and you have to pay, funny that. Some of the bar staff are quite tetchy too. Oh and even if you have been in a queue for ages, the memeber of staff will ALWAYS serve a paying customer before you even if they have just arrived at the bar.
The bar snacks, keep an eye on when they put them on the bar and get some straight away as they leave them to go soft.
The food is OK, get's a bit repetative after a couple of days, if you like pork, you're laughing.
There are 2 swimming pools, one which is 0.60 metres deep which is ideal for infants. The main pool is too deep, at it's shallowest adults can just about put their feet down so not really ideal for older kids, they basically have to cling on to the edge!
The entertainment. At night this was OK, you know the usual mini-disco followed but the bingo that drags on like the 100 year war followed by some kind of novely act. I don't know about anyone else but we didn't see anyone go round the pool mentioning daytime activities untill 2 days before we were leaving (1st August)
Some people mention the quiteness of the area, I'm not sure I agree with that, from our appartment you can here the fun team in the bar who carry on sometimes until midnight plus the kareoke in the Irish bar down the road all can get quite noisy. The walls in the apartment are paper thin so you can here you neighbours cough. The satelite TV, yes I know you're not going to spend all your holiday watching TV but only having Sky News and a view Spanish channels is a bit of a poor description of "Satelite TV" in my view.
All in all, it was OK at best, yes we will be returning to Majorca but not to the Ola Club Cecilia. I know you get what you pay for and all that but even so you should be made to feel like their not bothered about you because they already have your money. Must do better!
