The hotel is excellent. We stayed in a Junior Suite which we thought was more than adequate. The room facilities included TV, telephone, hairdryer, fridge (but ours was faulty), and a safe which cost 14 euros for the week.
The room also had a huge whilpool/ jacuzzi bath- which we used a couple of times. However the first time we used it the bath started to fill with scum which we put down to lack of use, or old water in the pipes, so you may want to rinse it out first! There was also a large jet shower.
We had a large balcony with a fantastic view overlooking Santa Ponsa bay; which had a table and 2 chairs. The room was cleaned every day and kept nice and tidy.
The restaurant was very nice, you could choose a table inside or on the balcony. The advantage to eating inside was the air conditioning. There was a good choice of food on offer to suit all tastes; including soups, salads, pastries, pizza, stews, steaks, rice dishes, vegetables, ice-cream, desserts and fruit. Drinks bought in the restaurant could be paid for on leaving or charged to your room account.
The hotel staff were very friendly and attentive; from the cleaners to the restaurant staff, to the reception desk. We were locked out of our safe one morning and a member of staff came to fix it within 15 minutes.
The pool area was nice and kept clean. Although there were more beds than I had thought there would be, it still did get quite busy. Next to the pool was the bar and snackbar area; which was also very nice. Occasionaly the hotel has entertainment on in the evenings, and when we were there we saw a Tina Turner tribute act who was very good. She got the whole audience involved.
The hotel is a good 10-15 minute walk into the centre of Santa Ponsa; and about 5 minutes from the square. The beach is quite large and can also get crowded. The usual watersports are available for hire including pedalos. We had a walk around to Little Beach as well, which is exactly what it says on the tin- it is a little beach! Just back from the main beach is a nice wooded area, where parrots nest. In the evening its worth a stroll down to the beach front as there are various street artists, from musicians, mime artists and even a sword swallower!
It depends on what you like in a resort as to whether you will like Santa Ponsa; for me it is a little too commersialised and very much geared up to the Irish/ British tourist. (There were loads of Irish owned bars, and lots of Irish tourists). There was little in the way of anything remotely with a Spanish theme. In many ways, its very much like any other resort in Spain!
If you could pick this hotel up and put it somewhere with a bit more character and history, I would definately go back, but Santa Ponsa wasn't exactly to my liking so I don't think I'd be returning.

Just returned from week at this hotel. I have stayed in many hotels in many countries but never had the bath and hand basin in the living area, at least not for a 4 * hotel.
Unfortunately the suite had an unpleasant smell on arrival and lingered on and off during the week. The aircon did not work but was fixed the following day. The whole room was in need of refurbishment with marked and chipped furniture. The towels were supposed to be white but were grey and very thin but clean.
The bedroom was dark and gloomy.
Sun beds were quite hard and no mattresses available. The view was pleasant.
On a positive note, the food was excellent, the dining room very attractive with pleasant outdoor terrace. The Spa facilities which is why I chose this hotel, were superb and the Thai girls excellent. However no other guests chose any of the free sessions of yoga, pilates, healthy back etc so as I was the only one these did not happen!
At least the sun shone but I would not return to that hotel.

My husband and I have just spent a week at this lovely hotel.
Our senior suite on the 7th floor was superb, with a large walk-in shower and Jacuzzi, which was fun! The food was good, breakfasts were excellent.
The glass balcony was perfect, with fabulous views of the bay both during the day and night.
The Spanish Square gave entertainment for us after Dinner, which is a ten minute walk away. We sat and watched the various tribute acts and then slowly walked back to the hotel and sat on the glass balcony, had a drink and watched the bay by night! Perfect.
I would certainly recommend this hotel to anyone and would love to go back sometime soon.

This was our 4th time we have stayed in this fantastic hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
We always upgrade to the honeymoon suite, what is fantastic. Have booked up again for 2007.
There is a fantastic dining room with fantastic views over the bay.
This has got to be the best hotel in Santa Ponsa. As we have stayed in others and had terrible troubles.

My husband and myself, my sister and her husband stayed in the terrace suites from the 14 till 28 August 2006. We paid over 2000 pounds per couple, it was room only.
Basically, the only good thing was having our own sun beds and shower on our own terrace. You’re living area was very basic and we had no cooking facilities or kettle.
We had 2 cups 2 saucers 2 tea plates, we had to buy a kettle so as we could have tea or coffee. We had a small fridge if you call it a fridge, it did not even keep our drinks cool. You had a table, 2 chairs, another small table with 1 chair which all needed a good coat of paint.
We had a separate bedroom which was very dark and dull, a ceiling fan which did not work properly and the air conditioning was a joke. I also had to go out and buy coat hangers, 30 of them so as I could hang the rest off my clothes up. Anyway, overall I did enjoy my holiday.

This Is a Beautiful hotel, perfect for a relaxing break. This hotel does not take bookings for anyone under the age of 14, so you are guaranteed a rest while lying by the pool instead of the usual screaming and dive bombing.
All the staff were very accommodating nothing was too much trouble for them the only down side was that the hotel is geared a lot towards its German clientele, so the television stations in the room and some of the foods are German. Although there was always something very tasty on the buffet and I really can't complain about the quality of the food at all it was superb.
The hotel room was nothing short of stunning, with a Jacuzzi placed in the living area so you can have a view of the Med while relaxing in it. Everywhere in the hotel was spotlessly clean and it was well worth paying that little bit extra for.
If you like the Irish pubs in Santa Ponsa you are about a 15 minute walk down hill to them, we didn't attempt the walk back up we choose to jump in a taxi (about 3 Euros) although if you prefer more family entertainment the square is a 2 minute walk away with entertainment on each night.

I have recently returned from Santa Ponsa, I stayed at the JARDIN DEL SOL SUITES & SPA and let me tell you it was excellent. I got a cheap deal booking with HOLIDAY HOTELS & a cheap flight with AIR BERLIN.
The hotel as I said is lovely, you enter the hotel on the eighth floor & all the rooms are below, the minute you enter the reception the view hits you, you overlook the bay of Santa Ponsa as do all the rooms. We had a honeymoon suite but we looked at the junior suites & they were lovely also, all the rooms have a Jacuzzi & air con.
The staff were very friendly & welcoming from the headwaiter to the cleaners, the choice of food in the restaurant was good you had at least 4 choices of fish the same with the meat, veggie options, fruit, you name it they seemed to have it, the desserts were to die for.
The pool is big and you had no trouble getting sunbeds, we would have breakfast & go to the pool about 10 o/clock, there were plenty of Germans & Spanish staying at the hotel as well as English. The resort itself is about a 5-10 minute walk in fact you can walk right around the bay in about 40 minutes & there is something for everyone. All in all I would highly recommend this hotel & resort, we stayed there in September & the weather was great & the resort was not over crowded, the beach is nice as well, you can hire all sorts of boats from peddloes to big motor boats.
Downsides to this holiday are hard to find, no runny eggs, no smelly or dirty rooms although the couple in the room next to ours did say their room kicked up a smell but they put the plugs into the sink, shower & Jacuzzi & it went away, we did notice they were right above the toilet by the pool so that might of had something to do with it, that was room 1101 in case your interested, no stroppy staff either.
Anyway if your thinking of going here either the hotel or the resort then stop thinking & go, you wont regret it. Any more info required about this hotel or resort send in a post and if I can help I will.
