Well, having stayed at this Hotel twice before, after reading rave reviews about the place, we found that is was VERY expensive for what it offers, and really does not offer good value for money at all, BUT .....having been given a Virgin " Classic Break " for Xmas, we... more

Absolutely brilliant! It was slightly pricey because me and my boyfriend stayed there from the end of December, through new year, into January but it was definately worth every penny. The staff are amazingly brilliant, it is decorated to such a high standard - very modern... more

What a fantastic hotel this is. We were booked into the Kensington Close but a burst pipe meant we had to move hotels and were fortunate to be moved to the 'Park City'. The rooms are spacious, superbly presented from the LCD TV to the BOSE Wave Stereo and the bathroom was... more

A fantastic hotel - a hidden gem. I had a standard room and I was very impressed with the comfort and style. The room was a good size and the bed was very comfortable indeed. The bathrooms are also spacious with a superb shower (bath also available). I had a relaxing... more

Made my birthday special!!
We stayed at the Park City for 4 days at the start of june to celebrate my 40th birthday. After choosing the hotel from reading other peoples reviews i thought i better now add my own. This hotel is faultless and was a pleasure to stay in. The hotel is located 10 mins (flat) walk from gloucester road tube and is in a quiet residential and hotel lined street. The entrance is very pretty (see attached pics) with topiary trees and a fantastic modernist reception area with unusual chandeliers. The check in staff were very pleasent, quick and informative without being pushy. We were then shown to our room. and it was just as you see in the photos very clean, loads of drawers and hanging space if, like me, you dont travel light..ha ha! The remote for the plasma t.v. was never out of my husbands hands and he loved playing with all the rooms gadgetry...very trendy throughout...from the marble bathroom, fluffy robes...throw on the bed...feather pillows...to the beautifull linen..the bed was to die for as was the air conditioning which was devine blowing on hot feet after trampling round London all day!!.. But what made my holiday was the staff and there kindness to me. We went out to a show on my actual birthday to return to a birthday cake and a card with best wishes from the staff..i mean where in London would you get such kindness??..i was very touched by the professional attitude of all the staff...the cleanliness of the rooms and ..oh..just EVERYTHING!!!...STAY HERE!!!...I PROMISE YOU...YOU WILL WISH YOU HAD IF YOU DONT !!!!
Lovely, lovely time
Excellent hotel! The room was spotless and the hotel staff was very very nice. Amenities were indeed high end: frette linens, hansgrohe bathroom fixtures, bose cd player and well-equipped gym. Air conditioning was whisper quiet and easy to adjust. My husband and I stayed for 8 nights and the service was consistently excellent throughout our stay. Breakfast (included in our rate) was delicious with such an array of choice - both as room service and at the restaurant. Our room faced Lexham Gardens and was very quiet and roomy. We felt like the only guests in the hotel. We felt lucky to have booked here based on TripAdvisor reviews. This time internet research paid off!
This is the place to stay
I stayed at the Park City over the May bank holiday. If you want a lovely hotel to stay at then this is the place. The food was excellent, the service was great and the rooms are better in reality than the pictures on the internet. I paid £80 per night (Holiday special). If the room had a kitchem and a sofa I would move in for good. There are shops near by and the tube (Earls Court) is not too far away. I would stay there again if I was in London. If they were full I would go to the K+K George (Same sort of location, much closer to the tube). But is not quite as nice and was more money. Just do it! You will not regret it.
Great find!
Stayed at the Parkcity after searching for a last minute deal for the Bank Holiday weekend for one night (May 28th-29th)to celebrate our 4-year anniversary. Arrival Very attentive and courteous concierge (Sofian?? we think his name is)and staff at reception were also very polite too. Good start. Room Well appointed modern amenities. The LCD TV and Bose stereo are both nice touches. The room was not particularly spacious (probably because of the great king-sized bed that took up most of the space), but was a good enough size. Nice sheets and bed linen. Bathroom was also well appointed with great power shower and Molton Brown toilettires! We loved the big fluffy bathrobes too! Restaurant/Food Didn't eat in the restaurant although previous reviews suggest that the food is good. The breakfast was certainly plentiful and tasty, although had we not got breakfast included in our tariff, we probably would have had breakfast elsewhere as it's quite expensive in the hotel.Good continental selection. We were quite pekkish in the morning so we also ordered English breakfast as well(!) which didn't turn out to be as expensive as we thought. Was nice to have breakfast brought up to our room at a minimal additional charge. Bar Ruby's bar is a nice place to have a drink and relax after an evening out in London. Professional and attentive barman. Negatives Just a few gliches during our stay such as a blown fuse which meant loss of power to the TV and stereo - but sorted very quickly by Concierge (who seemed to be doing the job of 5 people that day!). Restaurant forgot one or two of our breakfast items, but once again, after a call down to the kitchen, this was rectified within 5-10minutes. Price Great deal over the internet at £99 per room per night (Standard, Double room) INCLUDING continental breakfast! All in all, a very nice stay in a nicely furnished hotel with good quality staff. Great location, within easy walking distance from Gloucester Road tube station in particular and the hotel is on a nice quiet road. Would defintiely stay here again!
Everything in its right place
We stayed at the Parkcity for one night while visiting London to go to a Radiohead gig. I chose the hotel based on its glowing reviews on TripAdvisor, and I wasn't disappointed (a relief as I have used the same method to pick hotels for an upcoming trip to Crete and Santorini). The hotel felt brand spanking new ; all other hotels I have stayed in in London seem just a bit shappy or frayed at the edges -- not here! Hotel, especially corridors, seemed a tad overheated but this was not a problem in room due to the whisper quiet and very effective air conditioning. Room was a decent size, though not huge. LCD TV had us sat up late watching live Big Brother, and had a very dinky remote palm sized keyboard for web browsing/email. Bathroom was great! Pretty big in comparison to rest of room, huge tub with fantastic power shower, bathrobes, nice toiletries etc. Hotel is in a good location, on a very quiet side road. We didn't eat in the restaurant, though the menu looked nice (same food can be ordered as room service). Very pleasant cocktail bar with piano player. We were the first in the bar and the waiter nudged him to start playing as we approached, which made us chuckle. When we left (still the only customers) we hung around out of sight to see how long he continued playing -- think he must have seen us as he did continue! We had amaretto sours and they were pretty damn good -- though at 7 quid a pop so they should be! We decided breakfast was similarly overriced at nearly 15 quid, so we found a cafe for breakfast -- plenty around as you head towards either Earls Court or Gloucester Rd tubes. (Earls Court is the slightly closer tube station -- cut up Hogarth Rd almost directly opposite the tube station and it brings you out opposite Lexham Grds and the hotel). All staff were very friendly and polite. The best price we could find on the net was £99 excluding breakfast, and after staying there I thought this was a very fair price. I have paid more in London to stay in worse hotels. I would certainly go back to the Parkcity the next time I find myself in that neck of the woods.
Great Hotel
My girlfriend and i visited the park city hotel 28-30th April a long weekend for my birthday. We chose to stay at the park city hotel after reading the numerous good reviews and was not dissapointed.the hotel is a 4 star and looks to have undergone a refurbishment recently all done very well.We stayed in a standard room we managed to get for £100 per night (not including breakfast). It had a great big modern bathroom large lcd tv and the best bit an absolutly massive bed that has got to be the most comfiest ive ever slept in, which is what you need after a tiring day around london.the staff are friendly but not intrusive. the hotel is aprox 10 minuets from earls court tube station which gets you any where you want to go. its also cheap to eat round earls court if youre on a budget. All in all a brilliant hotel and when we rturn to london we will stay here again. would recomend this hotel highly.
The Parkcity - Solid Choice for Business or Pleasure
My organization recently required a last minute venue for a series of central London meetings the week of April 24th. We were at crunch time with limited availability at the big chain hotels and fortunately found The Parkcity here on Tripadvisor. We then inquired with the hotel directly. Given the fact that we only had a few days notice for the hotel, Debbie, Sarah, and the rest of the senior management team at The Parkcity went out of their way to make our meetings happen at VERY reasonable rates for London. Breakfast, lunch, and three midday snacks were all included at an attractive per delegate rate. Upon arrival at The Parkcity, our delegates found very good 4 star accommodations and very attentive service. The staff (mostly foreign, which doesn't matter to me and were obviously very well trained) was fantastic and the food for our event was excellent and plentiful. The main meeting room itself was a bit on the small side, but easily can handle a party of 8. We required a second meeting room, and were pleasantly surprised with the suite/apartment we were given for the second meeting. This is a particularly unique spot to have a small casual business meeting, with comfortable couches and plenty of space to roam. We actually preferred this space to the main meeting room. The only downside to the meeting rooms was a lack of consistent wireless internet connectivity. It was on and off in the main meeting room and non-existent in the apartment. In fact the only decent wireless in the hotel is in the lobby. This would be an important upgrade for the hotel in my opinion. The standard hotel rooms all had working wired internet, but not in the meeting space. Despite this one setback, our company will certainly be back for the service and value for money. While the hotel was nice for business, I suspect it would be even better for pleasure. The Parkcity presents a nice blend of modern amenities (great bathroom/shower, flat panel TV, ethernet internet in the rooms) with a good dose of small hotel London charm in a traditional building. Many will find it romantic yet comfortable. One minor downside would be the workout room, which is small. The hotel garden could possibly also be better landscaped but is still nice. I must emphasize again that the service is fantastic. Everyone seemed to be having a good time. The smallish but modern bar is fun with good drinks and live piano music. The Parkcity is close to three tube stops (convenient especially for those arriving via Heathrow and tube to Earl's Court) and is quick travel to any major sites in London. Harrod's is walking distance for the shopaholics, as is Kensington Gardens, and in general this neighborhood is very nice, safe and quite beautiful. I would highly recommend this hotel for travelers seeking 4 star accommodations at a 2 or 3 star price. hard to find a better deal in London. This is currently a hidden gem and I hope it stays that way. I plan to bring my wife soon just for pleasure this time! In summary, book this before it's discovered and the prices go up... Matt
The Parkcity pure pleasure
My boyfriend and I stayed there end of April for his birthdday. This was the nicest hotel i have stayed at in london by far. The staff was friendly helpful and welcoming. The room itself was much larger than expected. it was clean and luxurious. The bathroom was a good size and well decorated with a great shower and bath facility. i would stay in this hotel again without question; and with a discount fee of £99 for the night it was a bargain. the breakfast was delicious and next time i come i will eat at the resteraunt as it is meant to be fantastic as well. this hotel gets 10/10.
Top Notch!
My partner, daughter and I stayed at the Parkcity for 2 nights, and wished it was for longer! We were interested in visiting the Science, Natural History museums, and the V&A, and the location was superb – all just a short stroll away. The hotel is just a short walk from the nearest tube station (South Kensington), making it very easy to get in and around central London. The staff were all very friendly and efficient. We had an executive room, so we could have an extra bed for a child, which didn't cost any extra. The room (flat screen tv, Bose stereo, safe, complimentary water, robes, table chairs, pleasant view of gardens) was spotless, as was the bathroom and the breakfast was terrific. We cannot recommend this place highly enough and are eagerly planning a return trip. Gorgeous, a real find!
Superb breakfast - I think not!
We really liked this hotel. We stayed there to go to a concert at the Royal Albert Hall which was within easy walking distance. The rooms are excellent and the staff on the front desk exceptional. But breakfast was atrocious. Either we got a bad morning, a Sunday, or someone on the staff is writing the postive comments on breakfasts. The English breakfast served in the restaurant was no more than a hot buffet and there was nothing on the buffet table which would distinguish breakfast here from any lesser hotel. And that really irked because the choices on the in- room breakfast menu looked great but were not available if you went down to the breakfast room... which we did because of the postings here. We thought it so bad that we thought that the hotel must have had to cut costs when we remembered the so many positive comments on the breakfasts here. Furthermore the breakfast staff struggled to understand English which meant requests for butter and English breakfast tea had to be repeated several times. We weren't offered toast and were too fed up to ask again. We would definitely recommend this hotel, and we will use it again for leisure visits to London , but next time we'll try the in room breakfast. The menu promises much!
