I stayed here for 2 weeks with my boyfriend last year, and I loved everything about my holiday- weather, hotel, food, excursions!!!
The hotel was gorgeous, lovely, clean, and we got a free upgrade because they had over booked the normal rooms! The maids worked really hard, and we were happy to leave a tip! There was plenty of English channels on the telly as well. A massive bathroom with walk in shower. A balcony over looking a beautiful garden. There was a lot of wild life too... mainly iguanas roaming freely around the grounds. This was a bit scary at first, but you get used to them!
There was breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets every day, with a good variety of food (proper food!) and also you could book into one of the a la carte restaurants (included in all inclusive!) which were delicious, and nice if you fancy a change from the buffet. There is also room service til late at night, which was great when we accidentally slept through dinner after a busy day!!
There were two pools, then a stretch of beach only for hotel guests. A small bar/night club which was open most nights, and did karaoke some nights, which was fun, but not for everyone.
There were plenty of bars, and one beside each pool, to get drinks/cocktails throughout the day. The bartenders are friendly (even though they don't all speak English) and will walk around the pool and ask if you would like any drinks while you just lay there sunbathing.
The evening entertainment was good, from musicians to fire breathing! They did plenty on the site of the hotel, there was some stalls set up one day, and there is pottery painting every day on the beach, you can go on the net, play games, borrow films etc. In the rooms you get a safe and a fridge, which is re-stocked every day with water and fizzy drinks. There is a small shop on site too which sells snack and souvenirs.
The excursions were great too, not all that cheap- but as you are there, you may as well do them. Dolphin discovery was my favourite- getting to swim and do tricks with the dolphins... we did quad biking, down in a submarine and lots of snorkelling. All of these can be booked from the hotel. They will also call a taxi for you aswell.
The one down point to the whole holiday was that the sea was quite rough the entire time, and we didn't once go in because they had the red flag up on the beach... yet when we went across to Mexico mainland for the day, the beach was stunning and the water was lovely... but it didn't really matter, because there was always space at the pool.
