Tulum was great...the hotel was not
from lovethescents
4 stars!!! More like 1. Yes the staff was friendly and trying hard to please us but that was not what we paid for. The food was not good, I lost weight while there and was not overweight to begin with. There were bedbugs in my bed and the manager gave us a hard time when we wanted to change rooms! The web site said entertainment of which we had none. Drinks were supposed to be until 1 a.m. but the bar often closed at 11 p.m. When we requested music at the bar, the staff said they were not allowed to play any as some guests were...

Could not wait to LEAVE!!!
from A TripAdvisor Member
I just recently stayed here and thought it would be a nice place. When I first got there my friends and I had to wait a while for a room which we had booked ahead of time. Almost all of the employees did not speak English or very little. There store in the hotel sold out-dated snacks, which I happened to notice after I ate them. There food was tasteless and I almost always found hair in the food. I lived off of watermelon almost my entire stay. I found a seringe in one of the pools and after that I did not even think about swimming in the...

quaint paradise

I went to this resort by myself because I was in desperate need of peace and relaxation. That is exactly what I found! My room opened up to the beach and a small pool rarely used by anyone but me. Breakfast and dinner were always good; lunch wasn't too great. I suggest you eat at the bar where they had nachos, hamburgers, and hotdogs. I enjoyed the people and staff that I met. Snorkeling was available, but I didn't go. The people I talked to enjoyed it. I did take a taxi to the Mayan ruins. They were well worth the visit. It...

We were not happy here
from A TripAdvisor Member
Freedom Paradise was very disappointing. There are pictures of the rooms on the web that are very misleading. Our curtains were dirty and half hung on the rods. Our toilet seldom flushed properly. My husband retied the hammock in front of the room as it was hanging by threads. There was standing water in the shower that had an unpleasant smell. The band-aid that was on the shower wall when we arrived is probably still there. The staff was friendly and so were the guests, but I am so glad that we only booked 2 nights of our vacation...

Okay for a Few Days
from A TripAdvisor Member
We just recently stayed at the Freedom Paradise. The beach was lovely, and the staff was very friendly. We asked for a very specific room and our request was granted. The staff went out of their way to make the guests happy. Juan the bartendar and Juan #2 the waiter were amazing. They worked very hard to make the guests very happy. We were sitting on the patio one evening and Juan #2 brought us a round of our favorite drinks without us asking. Tip these guys! They deserve it! The downside of this resort is the food. It was not what I had...

I wish we stayed longer...

We spent a week in June 2004 at Freedom Paradise. Although the resort is not 4-star, the service is. Every member of the staff worked to make us as comfortable as possible. From management through housekeeping, everyone tried to make our stay special. We enjoyed swimming, snorkeling, shopping, dining, and just relaxing at the Resort. All of the resorts amenities were close at hand. Step out of the sliding glass door of your room onto the beach or slip into a hammock and let the sea breeze gently rock you to sleep. We enjoyed...

relaxing

We stayed here 13th of april for 9 days. We loved the Freedom Paradise resort because it is so relaxing an d quiet. The guest are enjoying there time here and don't wanna party all day long. The employees are helpfull and friendly. They organize different activities during the day. Don't expect it is 24 animation team. They will ask what you want to do. We went 2 times to the cenote for snorkling. It was amazing to see the big fish in the jungle. I've never seen it before in Europe. The food is not so great during dinner but breakfast and...

well named resort
from mirruvian
Two weeks in Paradise. This is a three star resort with a six star attitude, I have never met such nice, attentive staff in my life. It is completely relaxing to the point of being dreamy, the grounds are lovely, the beach is great, the snorkeling grand. The food is plentiful and healthy, if not exciting. There is enough to do for activities, and it is so close to so many fascinating ruins, shopping, exciting theme parks. I had the time of my life at Freedom Paradise and would go back in a flash. It is not luxurious: the rooms are charming...

Tucked away holiday
from A TripAdvisor Member
My husband and I returned from Freedom Paradise a few days ago. We had a terrific time in Tulum. We got a fantastic deal at the last moment to go to the Mayan Riviera, and switched from a planned trip to Peurto Veullarta. I am so glad we decided to tke the chance and go. The beaces in this area are just incredible. Very turquoise warm water with great snorkelling right off the beach in front of the hotel. (Head out almost in front of where the birds all hand out on that little cluster of rocks off the beach; we saw a giant sea turtle there...

Simply Relaxing
from BarbinMadison
My sister and I set out for a relaxing holiday away from the job and family hassles and relaxing was just what we got! If you are looking for a 5 star resort, go elsewhere. If you want to relax, be waited on hand and foot, soak up the sun, eat fruit and eggs for breakfast, fresh fruit, lean meat and nice salad for lunch and dinner then head on down. We came for the plus-size features and they were there. Wide chairs and comfy hammocks and pools with railings to help you get in. There were 10 or 12 other plus-size guests and I never...
