It’s not 2005 but 1998, thought it would be nice to give this little hidden treasure another review, friends of ours have just visited the keys on our recommendation of our visit in 98.
We had the most wonderful break away from it all and the lack commercialization of accommodation(compared to others in the area, I must say my friends stayed in one of those for how many extra dollars?) this little haven was just perfect for the getaway holiday.
Ok it might need a little make over in places but you can't beat the relaxation, and informality of the place we quote the Hungry Pelican with the fondest of memories.
Also the Flamingo Resort in the Everglades is a good experience, and the Days Inn situated at old town Kissimmee great value better than any themed commercial place and with old town on your door step, one bedroom apartment and kitchen.
Whatever you choose enjoy your stay.

What a fantastic setting! Set right...

What a fantastic setting! Set right on the beach, this motel is in the perfect position. We saw Manatees swimming just off the pier - what an amazing experience!
Great value for money - very reasonable rates. On the down side, the rooms are really, really small and although we thought we'd booked room with two double beds for us and our two kids, we ended up with a double and a single :-( However, the staff were really helpful and moved us to a bigger room without any hassle.
Breakfast consisted of juice, fruit and a Danish- not very inspiring! It's all just put outside on a table from which you help yourself - a bit of a free-for-all.
On the whole though, a great place to stay, I'd have no hesitation going back, for the money it's great.
Be sure to go snorkelling at the John Pennecamp National Park - it's amazing!!
