The hotel is in the quiet resort of Portal Nous and is ideal for families or couples looking for a chilled out holiday. The taxi journey from the airport and service at check-in was so quick and efficient that it only took approx 45 minutes from getting off the plane to... more

Just back from tomir, clean an basic, drink can be quite expensive. Everything closes at midnight so no noise after then whatsoever. But fun staff, entertainment team were excellent! Well done to jamie and Paul for organising the daily activities and the grease show is a must!!! From the Edinburgh clan!!

Booked this hotel on the advice of the rep in the travel agency. The first couple of days were quite a shock- the complex is a bit isolated, not much in the immediate locality.Like most of the reviewers - the reception staff were a bit rude, blunt and not very amicable. Yes... more

Butlins eat your heart out!
Butlins in majorca is how i would describe this holiday. The pool area was never washed down in the fortnight that we were there. The entertainment is not good. However we had our 12 year and 14 year with us and they had a ball. They met lots of lovely friends and really enjoyed their holiday. For myself and my husband a different story. We couldn't wait to get out of the complex.. Lovely restaurant in portal nous called Jose where the food is excellent and the staff extremely friendly and accommodating. A must to go to! The complex is near the Marina which is lovely but be careful where you eat as it can be very expensive. I definitely would not recommend these apartments to anyone. Quite a rough crowd as well and thats not the teenagers but the adults! Some of the things we saw left a lot to be desired. Majorca is a beautiful island - don't ruin it by staying there.
Tacky Tomir
Portals Nous is a very nice area and this is a major bonus for visitors. Will be a little overwhelming for some but our idea of a Holiday. The Tomir leaves a bad and lasting impression. The rooms are small but clean, however trying to get served in the bar was a Joke. The staff (90%) where un friendly and never too willing to offer help. The pool was coming apart with accidents every day due to broken tiles. The pool was also the dirtiest in package holiday history. One major plus point to show we are not total part poopers was that the Entertainement was excellent and all the children both young and old had a terrific time.
Top Spot, Ideal Location
We've stayed in hotel Tomir 8 times now, it's not the Ritz but it's clean, staff are lovely, location is excellent, well away from the rat race. Spectacular / Beautiful marina, beach just five min walk, and a beautiful walk way all the way to Palmanova. You can also just hop on the bus there in a few mins. Restaurants at the marina are fab love the food, not to expensive I thought. Palma City just 5-10 on bus excellent for shopping. I've traveled a lot and this location works out excellent for us, Now have a one year old kid, hotel staff have been great to accommodate our needs, large play area, and pool is great. Booked again now for Sept can't wait. Can’t be that bad eh!
Great location
We stayed at these apartments in June and despite being slightly put off by previous reviews we really enjoyed our stay. The location was brilliant to get to the beautiful marina, were we spent most of our time. The best beach is at the other side of the boat yard, although most people seem to go to the one just past Marineland. The restaurant and bars on the marina are lovely, our favourite was La Concha. The apartments themselves were quite small but very clean. Looking at the other reviews maybe we were lucky with our apartment because it wasn't noisy at all. The apartments are brilliant for families, but if you don't have kids (like us) it's best to get out of there on an evening! We had a couple of days around the pool and getting a sun lounger didn't seem too difficult. It's quieter for couples to go towards the back on the grass to escape from the children! The staff seemed friendly enough. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay and would definitely consider going back.
very poor
Accomadation was very basic. Pool and childrens play area grubby. Extremely noisy late at night. Only plus was the evening entertainment by reps. Very little to do in resort, the only consolation was a very good bus service to neighbouring resorts. Overall our holiday was cheap,so we got what we paid for!
Great for Families
Apartments were clean, spacious - we stayed with our three kids - well equipped. The balcony was small however. Reception staff were very helpful as were the bar staff. Bar food was average, pizza, chips etc. We found the evening entertainment was great for families, kids mini disco at 8.00, main show at 9.30. It was a very safe environment for children and our kids loved it. Pool and pool area was somewhat cramped and this led to it being busy and noisy. Lots of activities every day in and around the pool. The entertainment team were excellent and worked very hard. Plenty for kids to do. Downside to the apartments as has already been mentioned is that the walls are very thin and noise could be a problem if you're unlucky to get some inconsiderate neighbours as a lot of people we spoke with did. Getting up at 8.30 every morning to secure beds by the pool was a pain and should be sorted out by the management. Marina was fabulous and the Chinese at the back end of the Marina is definitely worth a visit or two. Great value for money. Take a trip up the hill to Portals and find some nice restaurants again good value for money. Marineland is definetly worth a visit for the kids (get to the Dolphin show early to sit in the shade!) Don't pay excursion prices - do a search for Marineland on Google and print off their discount vouchers to save a good few euro. All in all a very enjoyable family holiday.
Amazing Marina
Great place for anyone who likes yachts and cars! I spent a forthnights holiday in June with my husband and 10 year old daughter. The Marina is fabulous with lots of huge yachts.. great to walk around in the evening. Some really nice restaurants down there but only go in if they have a price list outside! The apartments are nice and modern, They are clean and very spacious. Bar food was very basic.. frozen pizzas, hot dogs etc and not very nice. The pool area was lovely but very busy and there is a real problem with people getting up very early to put down towels. There are a couple of little restaurants and shops around the resort itself but not much else . There is a nice restaurant directly up the hill (approx 10 min walk) called jose's.. does nice food esp. for fussy eaters and has a nice children's menu. Evening entertainment in the bar is average and we found ourselves at a bit of a loss in the evening because if you dont want to go to the hotel bar there isnt much else to do around. The place had almost entirely irish holidaymakers but to be honest there wasn't a great atmosphere and people didnt mix with eachother much. Its about 10 euro in a taxi to the nearest big resorts. The dolphin show down near the marina is really good and well worth the money. Tip: Don't pay the hotels fee to go to the Inca market which is miles away.. get a taxi into Palma for the Saturday morning market. It will cost about 20Euro in a cab but it works out cheaper then paying the holiday rep who was charging for children! Great bags and sunglasses at the market!
Noise!
Walls are paper thin, don't expect much sleep. Loads of kids (and noise) day and night.
excellent holiday
I stayed in this hotel in July 2004 and had an excellent time. The kids clubs were very well run and there was even entertainment for teenagers. We have stayed in lots of hotels with teenager clubs but this is the only one that our guy actually went to and enjoyed. Lovely area with lots to do. Highly recommended if you have kids.
Ola Club Tomir, Portals Nous, Couldn't complain really!
Went to Majorca from 6th - 20th (incl) July 2004, to Portals Nous and stayed in the Ola Club Tomir Hotel/Apartments. The hotel was nice and clean, staff very friendly and helpful. Food in hotel was average, BBQ every Wednesday evening, €8.50 per adult and €4.25 per child, 4 meats and as much salad as you can fit on your plate!!! quite nice. The only thing we found fault with was people getting up and putting their towels on the sunbeds at 6am which is very unfair as everybody PAYS for their holiday and deserve equal treatmet, the hotel should not allow this. People used to lay their towel on the beds and head off to Magalluf or Palma Nova and maybe not return to use their 'booked' beds until 3 o'clock or so, and nobody else had a chance to use them in the interim......the resort itself is very beautiful and the locals very friendly, lots of places to eat and drink, lovely little beaches to laze the day away and all only 5 - 10 minutes away from Palma Nova and 15 - 20 from Magalluf where Aqualand is a must see, we had a ball, great water park.......great holiday all round.
