Rooms were clean, Staff bent over backwards to help, Great location right next to the BCM club and the beach. Noise carried on until the early morning but we were often getting in at that time or to drunk to notice! overall cheap and cheerful and a great holiday! :)

Staff were brilliant, location was fantastic, rooms more than adaquate. Facitlities were good. It was really good to have "Tom Browns" on site for food, had a supermarket and internet access. Views over BCM square. Walking distance to the clubs.
In one word: AMAZING
A big thank you to the staff, see you next year!

great time
Just returned from magaluff on friday 22nd june there was 14 of us on a hen do from newcastle,as you would expect we were worried about the digs after reading the reports on this site, when we arrived we booked in straight away no hassle went up to our room it was very basic but clean with plenty towels and clean bedding. The bar down stairs was great value for money five euro for a pint of any spirit and mixer. close to the beach and the bars just what we wanted. I would not recomend this place for your main holiday but for stag and hens great. The only problem we had was random blokes trying to get in to our rooms banging on the doors at all hrs.
Great location poor service and standards
Me and 13 of my mates stayed at the playa appartments in aug 2006. When I first got there I thought great location, nice pool and facilities, nice staff even! The air conditioning in our room never worked, the lifts were manky, Our rooms were only ever cleaned the once, the people from reception were unaccommodating and rude. Charged you a Deposit in case of any damages which they said they would refund and did however its 30 euros less in your pocket for the week. Wish I had been informed about it earlier. The only positive I could draw from my experience was it being located within spitting distance from BCM - which was convenient as I always ran out of money and went back to my room to get more before going in ha, ha. The best advice I could possibly offer anyone wanting to book up there is expect to get your pants pulled down for the price you pay for terrible accommodation. If your between 18 - 30 and single like us 14 were then its not as bad as it seems because your hardly at the appartment much anyway. Wouldn't reccommend to anyone, stay well clear, book up at hotel Samos thats in a great location too and right near BCM (and the playa appartments unfortunately!) and is supposed to be decent and nice.
Pigsty.
Just got back from a stag do.Stayed at this place and the only word to describe it is PIGSTY.The room wasn't cleaned in a week,no fresh towels were left in our room,it was noisy, and the yobs who were staying there thought it was great to throw bottle from their balcony's in the middle of the night. If you want to have an unbelievably bad experience then this is the place for you. In fact calling it a pigsty is doing a disservice to pigs!!!
Magaluf Playa
Just returned from my Stag party at the Magaluf Playa (12 guys) 25 - 28 May 2007. After reading the reviews needlees to say we were concerned. In a nutshell this is what we thought... -The hotel and pool are basic and a bit manky (we headed to the beach each day when we got up). -Location was great for 12 lads heading out to party for a few nights, right beside BCM (open to 7-8 in the morning) so yes its noisy. -Nice beach just round the corner. -Two small lifts which were a bit dodgy but worked every day we were there. -Hotel staff seemed dead on considering they are surrounded by drunk people all day and night. -Front desk held all our passports and we got them all back at the end. -Did not see a fight, anybody kicking down doors or throwing chairs of the balconys. -Balconys are large but a bit low, best avioded if you have been on the lash. -Cheap food and drink. At the end of the day you get what you pay for and this hotel was cheap. We wanted a bed for 3 nights...well, 3 mornings and it was ok for that. ***Not a place for family's*** Hotel an all...we a ball !
Cheap & Nasty
We had to wait until 5pm for the room to be cleaned when we arrived at 11 am, this was the only time we saw the cleaners & it was filthy anyway so i dread to think what they were doing in there. The pool was full of newspapers & empty beer glasses, nice!! They gave us a spare key to our room at 5.30 am which was very handy but we could have been anyone as they never even asked our names. The lift was permenantly out of order so we had to carry our cases up 7 floors of stairs to get to the room. The noise was stupid, there were 36 of us on a hen party so we took up a lot of the hotel but some of the others staying there were trying to break each others doors down until 7am!! They gave out our passports to a member of our group without our consent!! This resulted in 1 being lost!! We searched for it all day after being told by reception they had no passports of ours. 5 hours later it turned up behind the reception desk! and they didn't even apologuise. It was ok for £6.50 a night but i'd defo rather pay a few quid more & not feel stressed out all weekend.
not bad at all
I went on a hen weekend and was expecting a rite dump after reading the reviews. The hotel was fine!! it wasnt the best but for that price ya cant really complain. The rooms were big enough, we had 4 girls in ours n it was fine, we had plenty of room to get ready and plenty of hot water for us all to have a shower. The pool area is a bit of a dump, i didnt go anywhere nr the pool it looked dirty but theres a perfectly good beach about 2 mins away so that don't matter!! the hotel bar is good tho. There are safety depostit boxes n fones (which are ded cheap) so thats good! all the nite life is really close n magaluf itself is brilliant! the night life is amazing! if i turned up at the magaluf playa for my main hol i wud b a bit dissapointed but for a cheap weekend away with the girls its just what you want. the hotel is rly noisy, dont expect much sleep.. but we didnt go to sleep much anyway, we were always out.
Elsbells (Carry on Abroad)
On reading previous reviews this accomodation looked a little hit and miss - thankfully we were prepared for what lay ahead. The apartments consist of three scruffy looking tower blocks one of which you would be mistaken for thinking may be derelict, the staff showed no customer service skills handing out the wrong keys etc and generally not caring who has entered the building and for what reason! On arrival we had to wait over an hour whilst our room was supposedly cleaned - this was the one time the cleaners visited the room during our stay - the place was filthy, there was a constant stench from the drains, water leaking from the toilet and the towels were dirty (brown stains can be off putting!!!). If you value your health consider alternative accomodation, if you value comfort consider Youth Hosteling in the Lakes. Once we had unpacked we headed down to the pool, this looked quite inviting if you ignored the floating carrier bags, cigarette butts and beer bottle labels (and the odd bit of broken glass). The only thing these apartments have going for them is their location - if you stay here it makes real sense to go out at night and stay out.!!!! The hotel becomes a mecca for drunken idiots to hang about on the stairs and the corridors near to the lifts. The noise levels are on par with a football match - between 4 and 8 in the morning these louts chanted, banged (kicked) apartment doors, smashed bottles and generally behaved in a disgusting way!!! This was bad enough for a group of grown men to deal with but if you are travelling as a group of girls or women on a hen party PLEASE look for alternative accomodation for your own safety!!!!! Don't be fooled into thinking this is "cheap and cheerful", pay the extra and stay somewhere you'll feel safe!!!!
Cheap and Cheerful!
I have just returned from a girls away weekend i was dredding going after i had read the reviews but it was fine. The location was fab right next to the square, 2 mins walk to the beach, 20 mins from the airport. The apartment was literally a stones throw from BCM and i thought it would be too noisey we didnt hear a thing. we was given a 2 bed apartment it was clean, air con, plenty of hot water, loads of room and clean bedding. What more could we of asked for would defo go back !!!
Not that bad
I booked the hotel for a Hen party on bank holiday weekend. After reading some of the other reviews I was really worried and was considering booking another hotel just before we set off. We arrived around 7ish friday night and when we went to our room, which slept all 6 of us, it was fine! It was basic but clean and had bedding and towels (we had taken our own just in case). We never had a problem with the lifts, although we did use the stairs most of the time - watch out for the slippy floors and stairs. The only problem with the hotel is the noise. Whatever time it is there's always loads of noise (coming from either people banging doors/shouting in the hotel or people coming out of BCM at 7 in the morning. Get ready for a maximum of about 4 to 5 hours sleep a night/morning. If you're going on a girls/lads weekend away this hotel is fine. Its cheap and cheerful and full of people just wanting to have a laugh. Although I probably wouldn't choose to go back to this hotel it isn't half as bad a some reviews say.
Do Not, (Repeat Do Not ) Book A Room Here
Bearing in mind Magalluf is considered to be a British night location overseas, which caters for those aged 20 ish for a good time, to get particularly drunk etc. However..i i cannot underline further how in more detail this hotel is a liability in itself and should be closed! We (as a group of 6 girls finishing our exams aged 18/19) arrived at the hotel late ish (6pm) whereby we were given keys haphandedly by staff who clearly didnt have a clue what they were doing and looked far too dubious to look after important documents (i,e passports - stuff for safe - which proved right, as many fellow holidayers safes were actually broken into)... We discovered upon entry, both our rooms had NOT BEEN CLEANED (AT ALL). WE ARRIVED AND there was still sick on the floor/dirty sheets/ beer cans/ etc etc...we went down to reception who after relentless nagging for half an hour decided to give us another room..(which happened to be on the 9th floor - and the lift didnt work) So we ended up asking for clean sheets etc and cleaning our rooms ourselves. The lift ceased to work, lots of dubious people cling to the stairwells late at night (do not go if you're a girl.. its dreadful) and there is NO LIGHTING. AIR CONDITIONING in rooms is NOt cleaned... all the people on our floor ended up with a colh/chest infection thing through the week which took over a month to fight off. The pool is Not cleaned either... but to be honest the price you pay & the location are fairly good .. but security wise it is not. There was a rape in the hotel whilst we were there. continual fights by chavvy rough british people ( No sleep etc etc - not that we actually slept anyhow because we went out lots) embarrassing themselves.. and somebody broke into our room. nice! It was not pleasant. Advisable only for those on stag tours who can protect themselves.
