We picked the Flamingo as it is very centrally situated across the Strip from Bellagio and Caesars Palace. We were very pleased with the location and the price we paid for the week. We landed after the airport check-in for the hotel had closed, but there was only a short... more

Flamingo is situated in a fabulous position - right on the Strip. The accommodation was very good for the money - plenty of room and very comfortable. You can request smoking rooms if necessary as well. We needed to change our room as we'd requested a smoking room and... more

Have used Expedia before so we were very confident to use them again. Flew with Virgin although they were fine I prefer flying with Delta. Did book tickets for the bus but after a 10.5 hr journey just got into a taxi and asked him to take us as quickly as he could to the... more

Massive hotel - the biggest one I have stayed in, but just about the normal size for one in Vegas - over 3500 rooms at the last count! PROS Great location. Good price. Hotel looks amazing, interiors are also well polished/maintained CONS Inevitably, due to the size it may... more

Absolutely fabulous holiday!
Wonderful chalet and loads of places to eat out. Would definitely go again.
The drive up to the resort was amazing. We arrived at night when they had all the torches burning on our way in.
It was a swift delivery to our chalet and they made us feel right at home!

This is one of the best hotels on the strip, facing Caesars palace and the Bellagio. The buffet breakfast is superb with so much choice you cannot fail to find what you want for breakfast. The rooms are great with the most comfortable beds in Las Vegas. The choice of... more

Loved the Flamingo
After making reservations at the Flamingo, I was very hesitant to stay there. I had read some very negative reviews on this website and I was expecting a dirty room and dingy casino. My daughters and I were very happy with the room and the entire casino. We checked in at the airport with no problems and the desk clerk gave us a room overlooking Caesars at no extra cost. Our room was clean and very adequate. Yes, the rooms are not as extravagent as some of the other places in Vegas, but we were seldom in the room and the prices at the Flamingo are much cheaper. We enjoyed the casino. It was not crowded and some of the slots really did pay off. The pool is crowded, but what can you expect when it is 105 degrees? The staff at the pool and at the entire casino was very friendly. The grounds are beautiful. We would stay here again.
would not stay here again
Stayed over Christmas Holidays December 2002 for two nights. Took hours to check in and everything was crowded. After waiting to check in we had to wait another hour and a half to get through the buffet line. The buffet was overpriced and not that good anyway. For the remainder of the trip we ate at the Gold Coast Buffet across town which is a much better value with better food. The pool areas looked nice but it was too cold in December to go in. Casino was about average for Vegas.Room was about average.
Get in line...grab a chair early!!!
We arrived in Vegas on 7/27. The rooms were great (except for the bathroom faucet which was not secured tightly). We did not enjoy the line we had to stand in to check into the hotel. It had to be an hour wait easy!!! As my husband is disabled and cannot stand a long time, I was surprised to not even see a place to sit nearby the registration desk (aside from seats at slot machines). I know this was probably a busy time but you had to get down to the pool very early (before 8 a.m.) to get a chair by the pool. I'm blaming the construction near the property for the foul odor that often was present while at the pool.
Flamingo Hilton: Okay for the money
Stayed August 2003. In 2000 got executive room which was much nicer than room on 12th floor this month, 2003. Bedspread was faded, with rips. Bathroom small. Worst was the smell as soon as you got off the elevator: what was it? Mold? Could not tell. Allergies acted up in room. Smelled or felt damp. Something. Maid forgot to give us t-paper and we had to hunt it down, along with clean glasses. Floor was stained. But room was bigger than most any other hotels we'd stayed in. Spacious, roomy. Just not the "nicest". Rates were $90 for Wed night, then bumped all the way to $170 for Sat. night. That was WAY too much to pay. Plus waited in line a half an hour to check in. Pool area fine, but closed early and I thought lifeguards seemed bored and not attentive. One kid got hurt and her mom carried him over to her chair, screaming, and lifeguard five feet away never even looked up to see if anything was wrong.
great pool area and hotel
My family stayed at the flamingo the week Of July 27th. We were a little afraid after reading some of the reviews on this hotel. It was great we checked in at the airport we had are room before are luggage came down. The room was a nice room average not a fancy hotel room but very nice and clean. The maid service was great and the hotel itself was very clean. The pool area was great we spent all day at the pool you must get down and their by 7:00am to get a chair by the pool. I enjoyed the pool area at that time it was very peaceful and relaxing. They have a wonderful lunch by the pool every day they grill up hamburger and hot dogs at a very good price. The coffee shop Lindys was good and the service was great. I would stay again anytime. I have stayed at serveral hotels in Vegas but this one was the most relaxing one I have stayed at. It is located perfect we did not to rent a car we could walk any place we wanted to go. I would stay again and again.
Good all-around
Fairly standard hotel rooms (nothing special but well-kept and spacious enough) though the views are nothing to write home about. However, the location is great and the pool area is very nice. A solid choice if you are not looking for the hippest or most gimmick-filled spot.
First Time To Vegas, Just Enjoy Yourself !!!
This was our first trip to vegas. We decided to just go and enjoy ourselves. We stayed at the Flamingo which was a perfect location. The room was about average, but clean. We would recommend checking in at the airport, because when we got to the hotel, we had about a forty-five minute wait to get a room. The Flamingo pool s are very nice !! The Flamingos and the Penquin areas were well taken care of.We ate at the Flamingo Buffet, and that was good. We also tried the Ballys buffet and that was really good. Also ate at the Rainforest Cafe and Planet Hollywood, which were both great and would recommend !!! Went to see The Lord Of The Dance, which we got tickets for at the Coca-Cola Half price ticket booth at the Coca-Cola store. Great place to get half price tickets, but they do not handle any tickets for the top rated shows playing in vegas. We also went to see Celine Dion which we would recommend to anyone that likes Celine Dion. She put on a GREAT ShOW, which was high energy. So as you can tell, we just enjoyed ourselves and found plenty to see and do without gambling, which i found out alot of people go to vegas for, just to go enjoy themselves. We also took a tour to Hoover Dam and the Grand Canyon, which is an awesome sight and worth going to see if you never saw it before !!!Las Vegas was nothing shy of being one of the BEST TOURIST ATTACTIONS around, and a great place to go to have a great vacation and have fun !!! JUST ENJOY EVRYTHING THERE !!!
as good as any
we stayed at the Flamingo 6/17-20/03. We had not been to las vegas in many years. We wanted a very nice pool area, reasonable room rate and good location. We got it all at the flamingo! The pool area was fabulous. Spent most of the day there. The room was fine(nothing special but what do you expect for $79/night). We did have a nice view of the Bellagio fountains. The food selection was fine for casual dining. the hotel was not TOO BIG like some of the other hotels. We did not see any of the shows here.
Good value, great location
Spent 3 nights in mid-July with my wife and 2 teenage children. We shared a room with 2 queen size beds in order to keep costs down. Paid $85/night for Sat.,Sun., and Mon. via the 800 phone number. Other hotels charged for more than 2 per room, the Flamingo did not. Our check-in was swift and friendly. Others have complained of long check-in lines which we did observe once. However, we saw plenty of long lines at other hotels as well...timing is everything. Room was quiet, clean, but basic. Had an excellent view of the Bellagio fountains. Hotel location was outstanding. Hotel grounds and pool were lovely although the pool was very crowded (mid to late afternoon was less crowded). The breakfast buffet was average in terms of food but the eating area is much nicer than most other hotel buffet areas that we saw. When booking, we considered other more expensive "theme" hotels but the money we saved paid for our tickets to the very entertaining Cirque du Soleil "Mystere" show. Would gladly stay at the Flamingo again in terms of overall value and central "Strip" location.
Love the Pool
Just returned (one week in July).. Hot Hot Hot, But GREAT No humidity LOVE THE POOL.... Hotel Room was nice, with great view... The design of the pool is secluded with palm trees. (my advice is to get your lounge chairs early and put them near the misting Palms). The only frustration was the Water Pressure in the Room........ Otherwise this was one of the Best Vacations my husband and I ever had... Love Vegas, weather blue skies, friendly people, great food. Venture out from the strip and experience the area and other great restuarants. open your mind and enjoy all of VEGAS. Taking family next Trip ( December).
