We picked the Flamingo as it is very centrally situated across the Strip from Bellagio and Caesars Palace. We were very pleased with the location and the price we paid for the week.
We landed after the airport check-in for the hotel had closed, but there was only a short wait at the hotel check-in desk. The receptionist was very helpful and got us rooms close to each other with the king sized beds (as opposed to 2 queen) that we wanted.
We had the old type rooms which were spacious and kept very clean with plenty towels and sheets changed frequently. There was air conditioning, a room safe (free), hairdryer, TV, and iron/board. The bathroom was a good size and plenty mini size toiletries were provided daily.
We didn't have to wait long for lifts to take us to the ground floor at any time. We only ate breakfast in the hotel on the first day - it was average and we had waited quite some time as they also have a queue for Platinum members who get priority.
There is a Denny’s near the Harrahs hotel a few minutes’ walk away which was much better for breakfast. We had a takeaway pizza from the Italian cafe in the hotel one night which was very good and reasonable. The Casino in the Flamingo was very busy at all times of the night and day.
The main swimming pool is very busy with a lot of guests saving beds by coming down and putting towels on them. It does say on the bed if it is left for more than 30 minutes the towel will be removed, but I didn't see this happen, despite there being a lot of pool staff around. The European adult only pool is much more peaceful and not as busy although a lot of this area is in the shade. Towels are available at both pools.
There is a wildlife area which is rather smelly in the heat! This has fish and birds in lots of waterfalls and streams - it would be nice on a colder day!
Check out was very easy as you just checked the amount due on your TV and completed the form then left it with your keys in a box in reception area.
We would stay here again due to the location as all you need in Vegas is a clean room in a convenient place due to being out night and day!

Flamingo is situated in a fabulous position - right on the Strip.
The accommodation was very good for the money - plenty of room and very comfortable. You can request smoking rooms if necessary as well. We needed to change our room as we'd requested a smoking room and they didn't give us one. There was no problems with switching and the staff were very helpful (as is expected in America).
The Flamingo has several good eating places - the buffet was amazing and good value. Try & get a table next to the water for a relaxing meal. Good place for breakfast also in the main lobby, the service was fast & prices cheap.
There is a bus stop right outside the hotel and you can catch the bus down-town from there.
You can also catch the mono-rail from the Flamingo - you should use this during the rush hour traffic when the bus just inches along the road.
I'd definitely recommend the Flamingo - it's excellent value for money and the location is fab.

Have used Expedia before so we were very confident to use them again. Flew with Virgin although they were fine I prefer flying with Delta. Did book tickets for the bus but after a 10.5 hr journey just got into a taxi and asked him to take us as quickly as he could to the hotel. which he did cost 11 dollars.
Did not use the tip just asked for a room up high overlooking the strip if possible - i did want to be overlooking the fountains at Bellagio but thought an extra 20$ a day to much to pay, but he gave us a great room on the 24th floor overlooking Caesars - could see the fountains. The room was commutable, clean and the maids were great. If you want really special this is not the hotel for you, if you want better than budget then this it is.
The hotel itself was great, location could not be faulted, food good slots ok ha ha Pools were also good but you do need to get there early.
There is so much to do in Vegas that if you do not gamble it is not a problem, i do recommend that you buy a guide book before you go so you can work out the things you really want to see as there is so much to see.
We booked our car before we went on the web with dollar which worked out cheaper than doing it over there, also another expense we could pay before we went. Also booked a show on the net the new Cirquie De`Solie ? Beatles Love. My husband did not know what to expect and he really loved it the show was in a word awesome. Do go and see it if you can. We drove up to the Canyon as we did want to do a bit of walking, did not pre-book a room but had no problem getting one.
It was very hot 105 - 110 degrees so make sure you drink a lot of water, do not leave the hotel without water and wear really good shoes - god did my feet hurt after all that walking.
I really do believe that everyone should visit Las Vegas once it is really awesome
Chris and Danny.

Massive hotel - the biggest one I have stayed in, but just about the normal size for one in Vegas - over 3500 rooms at the last count!
PROS
Great location. Good price. Hotel looks amazing, interiors are also well polished/maintained
CONS
Inevitably, due to the size it may take you 15 mins to walk from the lift to your room! Service was hit and miss. Pot luck as to whether you get a good view (i.e. of the pool area) or of the car park (as we did!)
OVERALL
I would stay here again, it has/does everything we want - and bearing in mind you wouldn't be spending a lot of time in your hotel room in Vegas; our stay here was comfortable and (pretty much) trouble-free.

Las Vegas is a Fantastic place, would definitely visit here
again & soon.
Highly recommend the Flamingo, in a superb location, extremely helpful staff, rooms very spacious and clean.
The restaurant was top for $16.00 you could eat as much as you wanted and the choice of food amazing. The grounds were spotlessly clean and the pool areas were great.

Absolutely fabulous holiday!
Wonderful chalet and loads of places to eat out. Would definitely go again.
The drive up to the resort was amazing. We arrived at night when they had all the torches burning on our way in.
It was a swift delivery to our chalet and they made us feel right at home!

This is one of the best hotels on the strip, facing Caesars palace and the Bellagio. The buffet breakfast is superb with so much choice you cannot fail to find what you want for breakfast. The rooms are great with the most comfortable beds in Las Vegas. The choice of restaurants, from Chinese, Italian, American etc surround you as you exit the lifts.
Enjoy breakfast surrounded by flamingos, penguins, swans, etc as you enjoy your meal. Clothes shops are in abundance along with a gym, coffee shops and a massive casino. This hotel is so convenient for visiting the other hotels as the mono-rail stops at the back of the hotel, and you do not have to walk the full length of the strip. Relax at the swimming pool it is an amazing area, and a waterfall as well, fantastic
