I read the reviews and decided that I would still give it a go ! what a mistake! If you decide to go to this hotel and have read this review - you have been warned!
Rooms - damp
view from room - overlooks kitchen stores
Staff - rude - so very rude
Pool - one closed when we were there (end of season) never saw it being cleaned once.
Life guard:- a joke. he played table tennis inside most of the time and if he was outside he was reading a book and catching some rays, with his back turned to the pool.
Food: plates cold to match the food. It was disgusting ! never had a fried egg in two weeks. Breakfast was beans, German sausage and bacon. every day ! The main meals were gross!
Fancy a drink in the evening? better start queuing at 4pm. Only 2 drinks allowed each time so the night was spent standing in between Germans trying to get a drink. Conversation in the queue as a Brit was non existent. Happy days!
Smokers beware! only about 8 tables for the hotel that allowed smoking. Bearing in mind it 537 rooms!
Beach - wow what a hill to walk up from! no pedaloes or anything to hire to take out onto the sea.
Lifts: they like to break down!
Seats need a complete re-vamp. Sofas that dip in the middle.
Entertainment: Bingo - a joke. No outside acts or even the staff there did not perform any entertainment. As it was a no smoking area, not many people were in that section anyway. One night we decided to join in the karaoke - machine broke!
Sun beds were dragged around the pool as the hotel is shaded a lot so the pools did not see much sun at all and if you wanted sun you had to drag a bed around and around to locate the sun.
Well I did warn you ! so if you decide to go to this hotel on your own head be it!!!
The resort is very run down and I cant say anything at all nice about this whole holiday!

El Arenal and Palma de Mallorca are both only a stones throw away and are both equally nice in there own way , though Palma de Mallorca is worth the few extra minutes walk for a slightly more appealing beach.
Fleet way Travel is always worth a look and is generally cheaper than the average holiday.
Now for the sour point, Luna Park Hotel !! To say it mainly caters for Germans would be an understatement.
The pool area was not very well maintained by the staff , dirty plates and glasses left everywhere.
No English speaking excursion operator, which meant we were missing out on day trips which we only found out about later in the week.
Now for the most important let-down, a substantial amount of money stolen from our secured room. When the theft was discovered by my wife we immediately reported the incident to reception. We literally checked our money went down for breakfast and returned to our room and the money was gone.
Reception basically didn’t want to know and said if we wanted to we could report the incident to the Policia. She wouldn’t tell us where the Local Policia was and wasn’t helping us report the incident in any way.
We walked into Palma de Mallorca and visited the Tourist Information Centre where the young chap on the help desk was doing everything possible to help, our thanks go out to him. The T.I. chap was not shocked by the least about what had happened at Luna Park, so on this point be warned, if visiting Luna Park in El Arenal do not leave any valuables in the hotel, they will probably be not there on return !!!!

By far the worst hotel I have ever stayed in - mis-sold to be by Alpha Rooms who sell this as a family hotel with a kids club.
What they did not tell us was that in other countries this hotel is sold as their equivalent of an 18-30 hotel. The place was full of German, Dutch and Italian students. These people spent all day drinking in the all inclusive bar (we could not use it because it was packed with drunks and not suitable for young children). They then went out partying and came back to the hotel in groups between 2am and 6am. During this time they would run up and down corridors, kick and knock on every door, play loud music all through the night, swear, scream, shout, throw bottles and ashtrays from balconies which smashed in and around the pool area, urinate in the pool, vomit in the pool and generally caused as much disruption as possible.
It was frightening being in our room at night because you didn’t know what to expect next. The atmosphere was very frightening and if I felt this way then goodness only knows how my children must have felt. We had no sleep in the three nights we were there – I can only pity the people who had booked for a fortnight.
On top of that the food was so bad we had t pay extra to eat all of our meals elsewhere and we heard numerous reports of rooms being broked into and people having their belongings stolen.
We tried to change our flights just to get home early but, as it was the middle of August, could not manage to change them.
Since then we have looked at the reviews on the Alpha room site and everyone who has visited this hotel has posted similar comments to mine - yet they are STILL selling it.

I though the hotel was reasonable. The rooms were clean, as were the bathrooms. The staff were extremely courteous and helpful.
The food was perfectly ok for an all inclusive that is catering for over 800 guests at each sitting. The food bar that runs during the day until 6pm does have limited food, BUT it’s literally a couple of flights of stairs away from the pools. There are plenty of salad and healthier options available during main meal times. The paella was very nice!
The hotel is a 'foreign' one with it predominantly being German guests, but there were also a lot of French and Spanish guests to the end of our stay.
My advice to avoid the free for all that can occur at meal times is to go early or leave it late. You get seated a lot quicker and can take your time. Plus you don’t get stuck in the queue (as the restaurant has limited seating).
Unless you are a hardened alcoholic there was enough alcohol to get drunk with and they’re more than generous with their spirit servings!! The beer was local and I found absolutely fine.
The beach is very nice and only a short walk down the hill near the hotel. It has imported palm trees and sand, but it clean and well kept.
Make the most of Palma being so close...take a day trip!
It’s fair to say I would have been a little disappointed had I shelled out a lot of money for my stay, but I felt it was a great for a cheaper week away all inclusive. Remember it is only three star, which equates to about a two in 'real terms'! Not the best looking hotel I have ever stayed in, but certainly one of the nicer ones in that end of the resort.
We certianley enjoyed our stay!

I can only give this hotel an average rating, due to many reasons. Although the hotel was clean, and the food was average (breakfast was good), the queue to get into the restaurant was shocking.
We stayed at the Tropical park and although it had its own restaurant you had to go next store to the Luna park, both hotels was full so you can imagine how busy it was during meal times. We ate out a few nights simply because it was so busy to get served and also to get away from the smoke. Now I do like the odd cigarette but everyone appeared to be smoking constantly everywhere (except the restaurant). The wine was ok, but liquor was toxic stay clear.
We only paid £290 for 12 days including flights with BMI so we got a fab deal, we weren’t expecting much in the first place. SO even though we ate the odd meal and had soft drinks we still got a bargain.
The resort itself is actually impressive, lovely beach, about 5 minute walk from hotel. Unless you can speak German or French do not be expecting to be speaking to many people, which suited us we had a lovely time keeping ourselves to ourselves, and overall the holiday was a lovely one even though the hotel was average. Its what you make it, the hotel is and can be a small part of it. My opinion in my lifetime is, that as long as the hotel is clean, comfortable and good location then you will be grand.

The hotel is clean but the food is absolutely terrible everything is covered in grease very poor selection. The snack bar was open until 6pm but you had to go to the hotel next door for it. The bar had a very poor selection and you would drown before you got drunk the drinks were that watered down. Overall, I have been on many all inclusives and this was by far the worst. Go there at your own risk.

This hotel really isn't as bad as its made out. Rooms were nice and bright and airy with a good view and the balcony always catches the sun. The pools were nice and clean, bit cold but it was the end of April. Yes, the Germans did take over the hotel but there were some Brits in there and having been to Majorca before this is an issue across the island and not just this hotel.
The food was average, all I can say is be adventurous, yes they do burgers and chips every night but if you are prepared to be brave and try some of the seafood dishes you'll be surprised, the paella was lovely! The bar could get busy, but doesn't it everywhere you go?
I never queued for longer than 2-3 minutes and the hotel was full. The beach is at the bottom of a hill that is quite steep, it is not suitable for people with walking difficulties and it does state this in their brochure, at the end of the day a bit of exercise did no-one any harm!
Make the most of being so near to Palma, buses are cheap and easy to use. Overall you get what you pay for and you could do worse than stop here. I had a very relaxing holiday, it was not noisy or rowdy.
