Aug 2008, Mr Dj Rice

We arrived having booked online via Iknow mallorca web site the site never mentioned it was for 18-30 germand and dutch. As we drove up the road people on the side of the road bashed the side of the mini Bus. When we got out of the bus we were greated by unfriendly staff who said we have not got a room for you even though we booked the hotel 5 months before and sent us up the road as we walked past the hotel we were spat on from the balcony and had beer cans thrown at us. We reported it to the hotel who said we wont do anything about it. The next 12 days was a series of noise and shouting if You go to bed at 10 at night its the only way you will get any sleep before the noise starts at 4 am. The food was not up to much and sitting by the pool was like playing dodge ball as the pool attendeant did not have the bottle to enforce the rules I strongly advise anyone not to stay at this hotel.

Holiday from hell.Went with 2 young children-bad mistake.Basically a German 18-30 holiday camp. They run riot throughout hotel-drunk around poolside all day and shouting and kicking doors all night !! Condoms found around poolside and punch marks all along corridor walls.Hotel staff uninterested in trying to accommodate young families together in order to get some sleep. No facilities or entertainment at all for children.Food ok but still young men coming into restaurent drunk.Never again.Moved room 3 times and still never got 1 wink of sleep.Went to beach to get some peace during day.Children petrified the whole time !!

Not as bad as what people say . . . ....

Jul 2008, Miss N Spriggs

Not as bad as what people say . . . . .
My boyfriend and I stayed all inclusive in May and found no major problems at all.
Basically, you get what you pay for. It’s a very cheap 3* hotel so don’t expect 5* quality. There were groups of young Germans, Spanish and Dutch staying in the hotel but they were no more noisy than us Brits when we’re on holiday !!
Our room, ok - it may have been a little dated but it was fine for sleeping and getting ready in but most importantly, it was very clean. We had a nice little balcony overlooking the pool and pine trees. The pool area was clean and the pool snackbar / drinks bar proved ideal.
The drinks were locally produced and drinkable. The food was at times repetitive but there was enough choice to please most (fish / various meats / salad etc). The staff weren’t falling over themselves to help you but they were polite when approached.
The location of the hotel is great – 5 mins walk to the beach, bars and cafes. It’s got a lovely long promenade to walk along too. The waterpark is 5 mins away and there’s a bus to Palma that picks you up outside of Burger King and takes approx 15 mins – and costs less than £2 each. The resort seems to mainly cater for young Germans and Dutch however we found them all to be very friendly and were far less trouble than young Brits can be !!
All in all, we had a lovely time. This would never be my idea of a main holiday, but it’s ideal for a cheap week away at the start of the holiday season - we will definitely be visiting Luna / Arenal for a cheap week next year.

holiday from hell, first night there...

Jun 2008, Mrs K Tomkins

holiday from hell,
first night there hotel staff fighting and shouting right outside hotel, good start, no sleep that night with all the noise, but got much worst even tho we changed rooms.
not many english but loads of german football suporters arriving by the coachloads .then the french, italians swedes all football fans, it was more like a 18-30s club, constant partying did not have no respect for any one else, smoking dope any where they fancied it no control at all was enforced by the hotel, playing in the lifts pressing alarm bell in it throwing patio chairs over balconys.
the two drink rule which came in plastic cups was a joke the few english that were there stood in a que but no not the others pushing in when they felt like it could order a no of drinks at the pool side bar.
food
well it was allinclusive ,not hot always warm if lucky not many english dishes.at times restaurant was crowded.
hotel
rooms basic but cleaned every day with clean sheets and towels daily
pools good size but cold
entertainment
forget it
situated well 5 mins walk to beach
good long clean beach with clear water
few english bars
life saver was the sportsman bar great food at a great price one not to miss
overall the hotel was nice but you have to make a choice 18-30 or a family hotel it does not work mixing both
do not say you was not WARNED

After reading the reviews on this hotel i was sceptical about actually staying here and i was right to worry. The room had 2 singles pushed together and 1 separate bed against the patio doors. although the room was clean it was basic. The food i found to be ok, the only thing i disliked was, that as a single traveller, when i left my table to get dessert or another drink my table was cleared and more people were sitting at the table. I was disappointed that i didnt go on an excursion one day, i asked the receptionist where the excursion was to and her reply was that she didnt know and wouldnt make any effort to find out for me. i have to say i didnt find the staff particularily friendly. The worst was the noise - the germans are a nightmare. they are so loud and arrogant, they have no respect for anyone. Most mornings i was awoke to the revellers just coming home, shouting and singing - definitely not a holiday for the elderly or with a young family. I had booked the hotel and was told i would have a room with a garden view - got a room at the front of the hotel overlooking the street. I would not go back here, it is just too noisy.

I am not sure what standard of accommodation the previous commenter's are used to but I have just returned from this location and quite honestly would not allow an animal to stay in the hotel. On the first day of arrival we check into our room which was as big as my toilet at home (which is small) we had to beds (single) and a set of bunk beds for my two children, my daughter of 8 who is very petite laid on the top bunk and the whole thing collapsed, fortunatly my younger daughter was not laying at the bottom, I complained to the receptionist who told me to calm down and then through another set of keys at me to another room which was on the 5th floor, to my horror more bunkbeds being put up, next to the patio window, the railings were unsafe for the children, the hotel smelt, the food was awful, the staff were awful and the clientel of the hotel were awful, 90% German's. I checked out the same day and went to stay in another hotel and another resort. I would say this hotel is fine for young 18 - 25 years who want to party all night. I would not even give this a 1 star rating. As for Arenal itself, I would rather stay in Baghdad.

Apr 2008, Mr R Woolley

We arrived early and the employees at the hotel let us in the room before our set time. The room was very clean and tidy. The service at the hotel was excellent: from cleaners, the reception staff to the bar and restaurant staff. However, the hotel could have been improved by providing a better variety of entertainment, as it was targeted at the elder generation. The pool bar was excellent, as it offered a huge variety of drinks and the staff were very polite and welcoming. Overall, myself and my wife think the hotel was fantastic and opened many oppurtunites for the upcoming holiday that was ahead. It was full of energy and we never witnessed any troublesome behaviour.
We are in our forties and we recommend both the hotel and town to all generations!!!

I read the reviews before I went out...
7 / 10
Mar 2008, Mr D Nes

I read the reviews before I went out on this holiday, which was a bit negative to say the least. The downside was the noise, but aren't people supposed to enjoy themselves on holiday. The young people that where there were polite, thats more than I can say for a gang of 18 - 30 Brits, who would no doubt have endless fights and display all the natural charm they do when visiting anywhere else. I found the staff helpful and polite so if anyone who had a right to complain it would have been them because they had to clean all the [--] up. I can't remember the barmaids name in the quiet bar but she certainly went out of her way to make people feel welcome. I know the head barmans name was Pepe. Some of the Portugese and Spanish adults went out of their way to say hello which is more than I can say for the sausage eaters who don't even talk to their own country folk never mind us peasents. You get what you want out of what you pay for so in my opinion it was good value for money. If you want all the comforts of home then stay at home you whinging gits. Just to end this small tribute we only paid £360 for the both of us which I feel was a fanastic deal. We went for walks along the beach every day and enjoyed the experience of local culture and at the same time was treated with the nothing but respect. We have visited the area and probably won't return because we prefer to go to different locations but I would be honest if asked about facilities for brits. At the end of the day it's most probably designed that way so Magaluf seems more attractive. Don't be put off by season moaners who just go away to ruin everyone elses holiday by constant complaining.

Mar 2008, Mr TP WEBSTER

When we arrived we were pleasantly suprised with the initial presentation but that soon changed. The hotel is split into 2 blocks facing each other and as we soon found out the one across the forecourt was almost always occupied by multi national 18-30 clubbers. They were totally out of control and without supervision and the noise between 1800 and 0700 was totally unbearable.Despite constant complaints from myself and other holiday makers the staff done nothing.
The staff were generally friendly but few could communicate in English.
The food was very limited in choice and very often cold within minutes of the restaurant opening. The only snacks available at the pool bar were burgers provided you were to wait for upto 15 minutes. I am so glad that we never took children because with a limited entertainment program,no english tv and no ice cream etc it would have been a long week. Although we are very tolerant people we will NEVER go back to this resort again

this holiday was not as bad as it is...

Mar 2008, Miss N Musgrave

this holiday was not as bad as it is made out to be , yes there is alot of germans there , but for £270 all inclusive what more do people want , the hotel was clean and the maids came and cleaned your rooms every day , the food wasnt brilliant but there was something there to eat every meal time but not alot of choice , the bar staff was great , they was as quick and as helpful as they could of been , you were only allowed 2 drinks at a time but you can only drink 1 at a time anyway so whats the problem , the pool was clean , and plenty of places to sit , before i went i read the reports and wasnt looking forward to going but it really isnt as bad as people say , the only dissapointment was that there were alot of germans and there wasnt much choice at mealtimes ,but was very clean ., my advice if you want somewhere cheap then go for it it isnt really that bad .

What a mistake going to this hotel....
1 / 10
Oct 2007, Mr I Mccarthy

What a mistake going to this hotel. The food was cold and tasted awful. In the bar of an evening we stood for ten minutes to get two little beakers of lager which are thrown at you by the rude barmen.
So a so called cheap holiday cost a fortune because we had to eat and drink out. There is a couple of nice english bars in the area but it is quite hilly coming back to the hotel, which is mainly Germans but had no problems with them.
I would not recommend this hotel for a holiday even though there were a few legends staying there.
