Just got back from a week at the Moreyo. Staff all very friendly, food excellent, rooms cleaned daily and very spacious. No air-con in bedrooms so it got very hot, but still well worth it.
Location was good, close to the beach and shops. Live music every night, but stopped by midnight so not too noisy. I would be happy to go back again.

Basic Clean Hotel - Poor Food - Too Much Noise From Local Bars
While I would agree with other reviews that the Moreyo Hotel, is very clean with friendly and helpful staff, the food was of a very low standard, the rooms had no TV and most peoples balcony doors did not lock, it should also be pointed out the bar over the road from the hotel has very loud live music every night of the week to the early hours of the morning, making it impossible to sleep much before 3am.
lovely hotel
Three adults looking just for a base so chose B & B. Rooms were clean and ample room for the three of us. We had read the reviews and were slightly worried about the noise but we had a room on the side and even though you could hear the music we all manged to fall asleep nothing to do with the alcohol honestly. The pool was always clean and a large selection of lilos which provided us with some fun. Lots of places to eat out are within an easy 20 minute walk but quite easy to upgrade to half board. Ben the english waiter who worked the days was definitely the highlight of my holiday lol. The family who owned the hotel were very friendly and helpful. The beach near the hotel was ok but better if you walked down to cala millor. Definitely worth hiring the bikes we didn't until our last day but had a very good laugh best 2.50 euros we spent. Would definitely revisit only sggestion for improvement is entertainment for children and to be upgraded as people in the hotel opposite left there and came in the Moreyo as their hotel was dirty and was classed as a 3 star.
Friendly staff and lovely resort but................
We have just returned from 1 weeks stay at the Moreyo hotel and must say the place is a little out dated,no lifts and small pool area, breakfast was really good -something for everyone, but main meals were pretty bland . Rooms were kept clean every day-cannot fault staff who were very friendly. When we first arrived we were allocated a room overlooking a very busy side street-which was pretty noisey especially the Pago Pago bar across from us which went on well past midnight, however we asked to be moved to a room with a pool view and got a lovely room.On a day it was nice to sit outside many a local bar (Argos-british pub),and watch the world go by. Yates's bar further up road do great food,London Inn had some good entertainment and it was nice to walk along the harbour at night. All in all would definately go back to Cala Bona very pretty.
cool place
lovely owners very caring and helpfull .very clean hotel good sea views .good food. friendly pet chow dog .how ever your room could do with a fridge in it as it gets very hot at night time shane&pauline craig
fantastic
well, how can i start a review about this hotel??? fantasic,i think the only reason this hotel is 1 star is the lack of lifts, i stayed here with my son 14, nephew 11,and my parents, and a friend we booked two rooms.and at 11 pp per night for half board, its fantastic value. i found the food great,im a fussy eater but there was english breakfasts available, and at tea time, there was always something i liked, pork chops, chicken, chips, fruit, plenty of fresh salad,my friend is veggy, but she did fine aswell. the hotel was very clean, friendly, and during my stay it was 99% english,i have to say it was a quiet hotel mainly older couples,so my son wasnt to impressed by the lack of children, infact they were the only ones in the hotel, but that would be great for other holiday maker who like peace and quite? so to round this hotel up i would say yes we will deffo go back again,it was cheep, cheerfull and in a prime location, many reviews slate the beach compaired to cala millor,we personally loved it,the kids spent many adays fishing/crabbing/snorkling ect i e.mailed the hotel direct two weeks before our hols to ask for if possibe, pool views, low floor, and rooms near each other, and within 10 mins they mailed back to say our requirement had all been met! now how many hotels do that? 10/10 folks i cant wait to go back june 2008
you don´t have to be thirsty
Nice, clean and pretty double bedroom, not climatized. Good price for the quality. Reception is sympaphetic and smiling. Food needs to be more various. No fresh fruits, very fat (french fries, fried fish, fried calmar...). You need to pay an extra at the bar to drink even if it's for water when you're eating your meal. You don't have the right to bring your own bottle. Very nice waitress. But does she have any days off. She was there every morning, day and night during our journey (9 days). You should ask for a room above the swimming pool in order to avoid the sound system from the bar upon the street. The bar manager needs to learn education usages at catering school.
Excellent value for money
My mate and I (female 35yrs 40yrs) have just returned from the Moreyo. Friendly staff (except an older lady on reception who had no sense of humour) Excellent location, just 2 minutes from the beach. The resort itself is really quiet, so not ideal for girly or lads holidays, but great for families, couples or those wishing to have a relaxing quiet holiday. Having read the reviews before we went, we purposly requested a pool side room when we booked it, but wasnt given one, we were also placed on the 3rd floor, so now have thighs like geoff capes as there is no lift! Beds made and towels changed everyday, rooms basic but all you need. The noise wasnt as bad as expected from the hotel opposite, they seemed to have a live singer in every night which sounded alright. In the end we were quite grateful that we had a street side room as the pool rooms had the sun on them all day. Although all rooms had black out curtains, the rooms were stifling as theres no air conditioning. Despite hiring a fan for 2.5 eu a day available from reception, it was still very uncomfortable in bed at night as the fans didnt actually cool the air, just circulate it! . We stayed B&B, although we could have gone down for the evening meal aswell, as there was nobody keeping note. The breakfasts were good, full english, but with spanish streaky bacon (more streaky than bacon!) toast, sausage, porridge, melon, yoghurt, musili, coissonts, fresh orange, coffee tea, so that did us till teatime. Think we were the only brits in the hotel, the rest were germans, which leads me on to the pool....... Although small, it was very clean, but there wernt many sunbeds. As we were going out one night at 10pm, we noticed towels on some of the beds already, so rather than have beach towels at dawn, we chose to go to the beach instead. Sunbeds and umbrellas are available to hire for 3.50eu each, and theres also a shower on the beach, which was ideal. If you fancy a 15 minute walk, the beach at Cala Millor is much nicer and child friendly. At cala bona, the beach is shingle so uncomfortable on the feet, (but great for hard skin!) there is loads of seaweed, and rocks in the sea, even knee deep, so not ideal for people who dont like things touching their feet in the water! We went on one of many boat trips for 24eu (lasted most of the day) which was great although the sea was really rough, we felt like thelma and louise sat on the front of the boat getting soaked off the spray!! We travelled round to a number of other resorts which was nice and excellent value for money. We also tried the wave rider, which is an orange inflatable boat that is supposed to bounce around on the waves and scare you to death. We paid 25 eu each for half an hour and wished we hadnt. We felt it was a total waste of money and were really disappointed, the boat didnt even go fast!. My friend who hates anything to do with water, even said she was bored! If you're looking for nightlife, then forget cala bona! head into Cala millor, we discovered the British Bulldog, they do great food, play great music, and also have the odd drinking competition. Certainly the best bar we found. If you're wanting to bring home a load of booze then head for the shop opposite Cala Bona beach where there is a large corner offy, it sold every type of booze you could wish for, we'd shopped around and found it much cheaper here. Brandy and vodka were 4.99eu which is 3.50uk Cigs are much cheaper there too, cheaper than either airports, so save your cash till you get there. We found most of the restaurants were similar in price, and theres also a chinese restaurant in cala millor which was lovely. Took a few piccies, so will post those on when i get round to sending them off! Anyway, enough waffling, had a lovely holiday, but wouldnt go there again with the girls, just far too quiet, Oh, avoid the ice, it made me ill (it wasnt the brandy - honestly!! ;-) xx
great family hotel
Hello, just been for an absolute fab week in Cala Bona. We stayed at the Hotel Moreyo. We took a chance and stayed half board,(have only ever gone self catering before). The breakfasts were great, even for me being finiky with my food, we managed to enjoy a large enough meal each day to last till nearly tea time. There was a choice of cooked english or continental food (both self service) The evening meal was our main problem. We ate three out of six meals booked. Cannot complain as it only cost £17 pounds to upgrade to half board. The english choice was either a meat dish of sorts, or fish. The choice itself was no problem, our main complaint was the food wasn't hot enough. Even if you were in the restaraunt for seven o'clock the chips were still cold and the soup luke warm. We didn't starve though as there are plenty of great eating places that are cheap enough for an evening meal. The rooms were cleaned every day, with clean towels each day, and the bedding changed a couple of times at least. There is a bath with a shower over in each room and always plenty of hot water. Our room overlooked the pool (which looked lovely but didn't use) so was lovely and quiet. Can imagine the ones on the front being fairly noisey (if you are wanting an early night) straight opposite two bars . These bothed closed by two o'clock so may not be a problem for some people. The main concern about the hotel was the lack of a lift. It was a definate struggle with two cases up two flights. But bearing in mind you only do it once each way, it is worth the struggle. We were really pleased with most aspects of our stay at the Moreyo, that for the price you pay, you cannot expect much more.
Moreyo - good value if a little basic
We booked a last minute half board holiday at this hotel through Teletext Holidays on the internet. I read several other reviews about this place before we went and many of the comments I would concur with. Although basic, the rooms were clean, towels changed every day and the food was reasonable. The dinner main course lacked imagination being fish & one other choice, but there was plenty of salad, fruit and other sweets on offer. Breakfasts also included fruit, fruit juice, croisants, bread rolls cold meats & cheeses as well as slightly underdone bacon, beans, eggs - mainly fried but occaisionally boiled or scrambled etc, so you could always find something to fill up with. Try to get a room at the back overlooking the pool & sea. That way you won't be kept awake by the bar over the road playing loud music until the small hours. Mind you, some of the music wasn't bad. We listened to a live country singer there one night & he was good.
loved the Moreyo
We have just returned from this friendly familly run hotel, though only one star ( no lift and 3 floors possibly the cause) It has a very Spannish flavour, cooked breakfast, though the evening meals get a little tiresome after 2 weeks. I would ask for a meal overlooking the swimming pool as it also gives a view of the sea and is quieter than the front of the hotel. We had a great time, very clean and the staff very obliging and friendly staff
