Ola all, just returned from Majorca. Weather was fab a steady 26 - 28 degrees daily but felt warmer as very humid.
Okay the Hotel Moreyo... difficult to rate.
Let me explain – the Hotel has been rated with a 1 Star. There was no lift, no air con, no porters, and no room service, but would you expect these facilities in a 1 Star Hotel?
Those were the negatives...well not quite! Not suitable for teens, mine and her bestest mate had an explosive row, well I slept through it, and the hotel threatened to make them sleep on the beach after they called the police. Thus ignoring all of us for the rest of our holiday! Grand.
Oh and how could I forget the BAR over the road! At first the LOUD music was funny and I mean LOUD. But when you hear these people murdering songs night after night your humour slowly diminishes. Therefore this Hotel would be unsuitable for families with children. Also there was no presence of the usual child friendly facilities, high chairs etc.
Oh and the dog Jose, hairy and scary!
Positives... Hurrah! Exceptionally clean - Maid Service daily. Buffet - cooked brekkie fantastic. Phones in the odd room. A swimming pool. Located literally a stone’s throw from the sea, which you can hear when the BAR over the road shuts down at about 3am!
I have to add apart from one, the rest of the staff were friendly and did speak to us... even the girls!
Would I visit Cala Bona again?
Only if I could stay at the Redwing Resort Apartments located to the far left of the Harbour.
So do you see my dilemma regarding the rating?
I've decided on a 6!

No air conditioning so had to hire a fan which was totally inadequate as trying to sleep with the constant drone of the fan was impossible. Bed linen was changed once in two weeks.
Outdoor pool area left a lot to be desired limited lilos half of which were broken pool area wasn’t very clean.
The only way to describe the food is diabolical had to eat out most nights would not recommend this hotel. No reps on site only available by phone.

We have just come home after staying at the Moreyo. We had read the comments before we left and went with an open mind having stayed above a disco bar last year in Corfu. Saying this the Hotel was pleasant upon arrival and having read prior comments about asking for a room overlooking the pool we asked for this on arrival which we got. However, it was on the third floor so it was a bit of a trek each time we left or came back to the hotel.
We had booked Half Board but decided that looking back we should have gone B & B and eaten out at our own choice of restaurant in the evening as the food was fairly basic. Saying that, if you like Ravioli and Tuna salad you will be ok! There was always salad to eat and fresh fruit, however we thought we would like to try the other restaurants and bars which we did ( we only ate once at our hotel so thankfully it wasn't much extra for this when we booked the holiday )
The hotel is probably predominantly German guests however there was no problem getting a sunbed at any point during they day. The rooms were quite stuffy due to no air conditioning. However, you can hire a fan for 2.5 euros day which we did but I'm unsure if this really helped or just wafted the hot air around instead.
We did however have a fantastic time and think that is the better end of Cala Bona/Cala Millor to stay as lots to do, shops, restaurants, bars etc.
Hotel was fantastically clean even if you didn't put the cleaner card out they came in and made beds, fresh towels etc cannot fault any of that. The reception staff are lovely and advised us on trips etc.
Go to the Safari Zoo on the Panoramic bus, well worth a visit. The Caves du Drach are worth visiting too, again on the bus ! Marine Land is also good to visit however it is in Palma so you would need to do an excursion or hire a car.
Will stop waffling now but enjoy as the place is beautiful, and visit the 'Spray Can' artist in the evening at the harbour - amazing very clever man.

Stayed for 11 days. Room was OK, pool is lovely and warm breakfast was spot on. But evening meal not to our taste - more a pie and chips person. Bar staff were friendly and helpful. The owners were really nice people - nothing was too much trouble and they went out of their way to be helpful. The young night porter always smiling and friendly, made you feel at home.
You can hire fans for the room. It's a must as there's no air con but with the fan on we had no problems sleeping. All in all, this is a good hotel, run professionally by friendly staff. They even have a hotel dog which wanders in and out. It's very friendly and doesn't bother you.

I’ve just returned home after a family holiday staying at the hotel Moreyo.
The hotel was fantastic, spotlessly clean, friendly staff, food was lovely, good selection at breakfast, international or a good British fry up.
We stayed for 10 nights and all the evening meals were different every night, I am a fussy eater but I always found something I liked, pork chops, chips potatoes, chicken legs, fish, loads salad, fresh fruit ect.
I booked with travel republic two months in advance for 4 adults and 2 children, and it worked out £11 per night half board.
I also emailed the hotel before arriving to ask for a pool view and a low floor and for our rooms to be placed near to each other, and within the hour they emailed back to say all my requirement were met.
I will certainly be going back to the Moreyo again. It’s also in an excellent location.
I think if this hotel had a lift it would be given at least a 3 star rating.

Me (24) Gemma (21) Gwen (54) Stayed at this hotel for 1 week, and it was grea.
The morning breakfasts were really good something for everyone. It is a very quite hotel with lots of couples and older people, but that was good, infact on one day we had the pool all to ourselves which was great.
The bar downstairs is OK the barman is a bit miserable but the guy on reception makes up for it as he's very funny. There isn't a lift but the staff are more than happy to lug your luggage up the stairs for you so no worries there.
The rooms are clean and spacious if a little old fashioned.
The resort of Cala Bona is great a real haven, the Pago Paggo bar next door is really good fun and the entertainment is first class. Ian the barman is a great laugh and everyone is so friendly your never want to come home (I never).
Anyway if you have book this holiday I guarantee that you will love it.

We had a great time and thought it very clean and friendly, it is best to get a room overlooking the swimming pool as it’s quieter and has a sea view. Good to have a cooked breakfast but like all hotel food gets a bit jaded after a fortnight.
The staff are friendly and the hotel very clean, it should be a 2 star, must be not having a lift. Will go back again for sure.

Have just returned from a fortnight stay at this hotel. I cannot fault the staff who work there and the rooms are very clean. However the food does not suit an English palette and we basically spent 2 weeks eating out as we could not stomach the food.
If you come here i would say to go self catering as there are loads of places to eat such as Rope and Anchor, The London Inn and Snoddy's which does excellent English food and the best chocolate fudge cake I’ve ever had!!
If you have a room at the front you may find it hard to sleep as the music from Hotel Sur goes on till 3am and is very loud.
Avoid Phil's Bar round the corner as the owner is arrogant, cocky and very rude.

This hotel deserves more than 1 star regardless of the fact there was no lift. The staff were very accommodating and helpful, the food was lovely and the rooms were large and very clean. My only concern would be if you are facing the main street there is one bar in the whole of Cala Bona which plays loud music till 2 am and this disturbs sleep.
if your room is facing the pool you cant hear it at all and the hotel staff will try to change your rooms if possible. it is so close to the beach, which has great snorkeling opportunities and loads of underwater creatures to see, but there is also a pool which is nice and relaxing.
There is a variety of shops close by stocking foods and gifts and along the front an array of beautiful restaurants. I recommend Milanos great food!

I took a risk and booked this hotel in August last year. It was only rated one star and was very cheap - £14 per night each half board. Was very pleased. The hotel was well situated, right next to the beach. The rooms were spacious and very clean.
It was family run and the staff were lovely. There was plenty of choice at mealtimes. The pool was on the small side but adequate for the size of the hotel. There was no lift in the hotel but it only has three floors so it wasn't a big problem.
There is no entertainment in the hotel itself but the bar is pleasant and there is entertainment in the nearby bars and hotels. It was a lovely relaxing hotel with a definite 'Spanish' feel for travelers who do not need to be constantly entertained and I think it deserves more than its one star rating (I was told this was because of the lack of a lift).

We visited hotel Moreyo in Sep and had a great time the hotel was very clean. Towels changed every day if you wanted it, clean sheets 3 times a week.
Friendly staff. I emailed the hotel and asked for three rooms together with a pool view they emailed me back within the hour to say that was done for us. Breakfast was good lots of choice.
plenty of places to eat in Cala bona and Cala Millor witch is only 10 mins pleasant walk no hassle from anyone wanting you to eat or drink in their places only let down was it was a bit too English I like to explore tastes and found it hard to find anything other than basic grill items. We had Sunday lunch at the rope and anchor near Cala bona harbour excellent value for money.
Entertainment at the London bar was very good with a comedian and various singers.
Nicest beaches up towards Cala Millor area. We went whilst it was the tourist weekend, there was a Queen tribute band and a couple of others. We only saw the Queen one and they was very good.
We walked on the sea front towards Cala Millor and sat on one of the walls to watch the fireworks display, most of the shops closed and all of the bars turned out their lights also the street lights went off. We was absolutely amazed with the fireworks they was actually better than after dark at don valley.
Buses are very frequent and very cheap .I found some of the Spanish people very unfriendly and unhelpful not used to that normally go to Greece where they fall over themselves to help. Weather was a bit hit and miss but still enjoyed it.
All in all a very good holiday.
