Booked last minute and spent a week at the Coral, first visit to Corfu but would definitely go again. Roda is a small resort and it was the end of the season when we went so not sure how busy it will be in the summer. The Coral hotel is ideally located, within easy walking... more

ROOMS - We stayed in room 13 and found it to be dingy and in need of refurbishment. The bathroom was in an awful state - even after being cleaned! The toilet seat was broken and despite several requests for it to be fixed (both to Nikos & the rep) nothing was done. There... more

Great HolidAY
This is the second year we have been to the Coral, last year for Grahams 40th which the staff and guests made it a great night to remember. We met Mark and Ali also Stew and Brenda and that is who we went back with this year, for grahams 41st the only difference being we found the hotel that good and child freindly we took the children with us this year and they loved it as must as the adults. Dimitris and Nikkos made us all welcome as if we where family and the children loved them. Dimitris helped me arrange a pary both years and also arranged a birthday cake. The drinks kept flowing the singing in full flow. Eexcellent well worth visiting if you have a celebration of any kind. We find Roda and excellent resort, quiet but everybody makes you welcome no matter which bar or restaurant you visit. The food is second to none along with the service you receive. Roda should be more advertised by the Holiday Companies as a lot of people are missing out on a great holiday.
We love it!
We've just returned from our second trip to the Coral this year and this one was even better than that first time! The staff do everything they can to make sure that you have the best holiday possibe and if you get to know them then you have friends for life! In response to an earlier review, yes the rooms are basic but they are comfortable and clean and no, some of the bathrooms do not have windows but that's because they're built within internal walls! Would you like a bathroom window looking into the hallway or into next doors room? I strongly recommend the Greek night as it is great fun, especially if you're with a large group of people and if you eat in the restaurant then i strongly recommend the chicken in mushroom sauce.....best i've had! The location is fantastic because you're not surrounded by bad English style bars but if you want them then they're only a 5 minute walk away (although there are only a few) and there is only one quiet bar next door so no loud music from anywhere else and never any yobbish trouble. You can hire boats right next door and organised boat trips are only a 2 minute walk away. You are right next to the sea so whether you're having dinner or just enjoying a drink you can see the sea. The view to Albania is amazing on a clear day and on a clear night you can even see the lights of the villages. Dimitri is the best barman in the world and makes the GREATEST cocktails ever....enough of a reason to keep going in itself if you ask me! Everyone should go to the Coral.........guaranteed fun and giggles! Big love to Dimitri, Nikos, Thassos, Peter, Little Dimitri (and his gameboy), Pedras, Adie, Nicola and Jamie, Sharon and Lee, Lauren and Chris and everyone else we met while we were there. YOU ROCK! Roll on next year! xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
LOVE The Coral!
My family and I LOVE the Coral and have been there 6 times in the last 4 years! We have never had a bad holiday and think the world of all the family that run the hotel. They will do anything to ensure you have a great time and go out of there way to be helpful. To those people who do not enjoy themselves I say lighten up and join in and you can't fail to have a good time. As for the hotel building itself, yes the rooms are basic but you are in Greece! The hotel surroundings are kept beautiful and clean and sitting in the bar or restaurant looking at the sea is a dream. I stayed at the Coral twice this year and have already booked for next year. With the fabulous location and fantastic hospitality I see no reason to go anywhere else!
coral hotel fantastic
My family and i stayed at the coral hotel in roda for the first time this year and thought it was absolutely fantastic. The staff there made our holiday, they were all great,so much so that i will be going back in October and will continue going back.Thankyou Nikos,Dimitris,Thassos,Pedro, for a great holiday. P.S.Nikos you make a great babysitter.Thanks. See you all soon.
Loved the Coral and ALL its staff
I would like to disagree with the review, the large family referred to is my family and he never accused them of stealing his mobile phone to us. The staff couldn't do enough for you, they bent over backwards to make your stay every bit enjoyable. Nikos and his wife Efi were always ready smiling, lovely friendly people. I've never enjoyed a hotel so much, Niko was really nice they all were and I'd go back again, its no wander my Gran has been going for eleven years. The hotel although quiet and small means you get to know everyone and make new friends. Its not mad busy and not too quiet, its a great place to go to enjoy Greece and I would recommend it to anyone. The staff made my stay and I felt sad at going home and leaving them because I had never before experienced hospitality at that level.
attention!! is very bad!!
The Ionian Hotel in Roda-Corfu'- is not like the internet description. In front of the hotel there is a very bad see, brown colour, just for the boat, no beach!!! The room was dirty and very old. No-TV in the room!! Air condition is not included in the price Breakfast very poor Bill of the restaurant not very clear. The bathroom was very old, and not have a windows. Not way to came back there. Is better to look for a apartments, you have more quality a spend the 50%.
Good hotel.....but the staff were horrid!! Especially Nikos
It's a good hotel, but the staff are unacceptable , particularly Nikos!! During my stay there, Nikos accused me and my friend of stealing his mobile phone, he didnt say this to us mind, he only said it a large family who were also staying there, in the hope of giving us a bad reputation, therefore preventing this family from socialising with us, as he knows that we prefered to venture out of the Hotel, into Roda town. And on another occasion Nikos was urging my friend to cheat on his girlfriend, and the language he used i will not repeat here, but it was in the region of, "If you see a -----, ---- it"......like i said Unacceptable! Nevertheless, the hotel itself is very very nice, the pool area is especially jizzy! So I advise all holidaymakers who are due to be staying at the Coral, enjoy your time there, but Don't be fooled by Nikos (and his fony accents) or any other Coral employee for that matter, they are all business minded and only want you to stay on their premesis so that they have your wallet at their fingertips.
Excellent Value for Money Unsuitable for Kids
Hi there, we found the beautiful Coral Hotel to be in a fantastic location with everything near-by. Spotlessly clean. The rooms are spacious but very basic so do take a radio/cd player. Excellent meals with a friendly service. Shame about the breakfasts though. They served orange cordial as fresh orange juice and the cereals were tasteless. Tried it once. Lovely beach/pool bars with terrific holiday atmosphere within the complex which can become very lively and rowdy. We witnessed ongoing loud swearing and sexual innuendos exchanged between barstaff and patrons continually in the presence of children, of which, appeared to be as the norm. In addition to this, a full striptease was performed by a middle aged couple encouraged by everyone watching including the barstaff, and again, in full view of children with no intervention from the staff. Fortunately for me though, I was very proud of my body after what I saw that night, ha ha. Nikos the waiter appears to be drunk most nights and talks utter rubbish- I thought that was my job after a few too many, he he. I know he really means well but he can get in your face a bit pretending to be your friend so you'll keep coming into the bar to drink. He'll take the huff if you venture out of the hotel at night to drink elsewhere, etc. Nikos will also rant about the forthcoming greek nights (men in tights) and his boring karaoke which nobody can work properly, consisting of 20 ancient songs. However, it is funny to watch him as a compere as he does take it so seriously and, he does make a real effort to please everyone. You can't help but like him. CONCLUSION: Excellent all round value for money accomodation if you just want to get away from it all. Can't comment on Greek Dancing Night as I never saw it but entertainment program needs vast improvement as does resort. Simply by getting drunk is not a great night out for everyone Nikos. Could take example from Roda Inn and Maggie's Place where we spent most of our evenings, for 1st Class acts and genuine hospitality? I personally would go back to this hotel for a week of pure relaxation. For what it's worth, this is only an opinion at the end of the day. Go judge for yourself. Everyone has different ideas of a holiday, their likes and dislikes.
Come on the hoops
The best holiday we have ever had, All the staff are now more like family and the people we met were all fantastic. Will be back soon. Sarah, Kevin and Greg. Scotland xxxx
another great holiday
Thanks to everyone for another great holiday, met up with friends from over the past 3 years. Thanks to Nick, Dimitris,Nikos and everyone else I'm certain we'll see you all again but next time we'll be down to just Mark and I.
