Submitted By: Mrs P AnaHere it goes:)i book the tickets in advance and hoped to see corfu as soon as posible ,,this was my third time in greece..i have visited zakynthos(what a lovely place and nice people)and salonic twice and could't wait to see corfu ,greece's green paradise.
When we arrived in the morning at the hotel we were very disapointed. Our room, somewhere in the end of the garden was small, ugly, smelly ,nothing like the photos i have seen on the internet.
I thought it was a mistake but it was not..english people and other had the nice rooms with sea view in the new hotel part in front and us the romanians,,like animals we were given the rooms in the back. The front part of the restaurant was booked for the enghlish ,...we ate in the back,,and so on..
So i went and talked to the administrator,,nice guy by the way,,he said we have just to pay for 50 euro more and we have an english room..
The room number 23 was magnificent,,,seaview,,,nice bed nice bath nicew everything in the room...we took it...at the amount of money we paid what was 50 euro,,
So we rented a car after because roda is dead..nothing going on during the day nothing during the bight,,;(((
But the rest of corfu is a dream,,,sidari, paleokastrista, benitses, corfu town.,,
What a lovely island.
If you ever get there at coral hotel in roda..make sure which room you get...so you woun't be disapointed:)

Submitted By: Miss L MitchellWe (mum and 2 daughters) booked through Thomas Cook on a B & B basis. We enjoyed the holiday and are already talking about when we can go there next year (only been back 1 week)!
I never understood why some people go on so much about the staff of hotels and never say much about the surrounding area/weather etc but I really must say that the staff here made our stay. There is Chris and Jimmy, who work long days running the pool and snack bar, and then there is Dimitri, Tassos, and Nikos who work in the restaurant and bar of an evening. There was always something going on from quizz nights to bingo and Dimitri is so funny it's worth going just to listen to him! The Greek night (15euro per head) on Thursdays is a must!! If you like a drink there are also plenty of free shots flying about after midnight.
Our room was located on the 1st floor of the back building with a sea and mountain view - it wasn't the most modern of rooms but for the amount of time we spent in there it really didn't matter. I understand that they aim to complete the renovations over this winter and these rooms will be finished by next years season. The pool area was never busy and we always got a sunbed. The bars and shops of Roda are a 5 min stroll away and we tried a different restaurant every night because they are all excellent Roda Park Restaurant has a really good Greek night on Wednesdays - put on by their own staff.
The weather was boiling every day and we never saw 1 cloud the whole time we was there.
I loved this hotel and really really didn't want to come home :-(

Submitted By: Mrs D RichardsonWe had a hiccup to start with dont book with otbeach we came down to breakfast after a night arrival to find the hotel only had us booked for 2 nights but thanks to the principals help (which he didnt have to do) he sorted it all out and we were able to stay with them. We are really grateful for all the help they gave us.
The resort is just up our street not noisy very laid back and very easy for anyone who may have walking difficulties.
We made loads of friends with the locals not at all pushy.
Beach sandy and very safe for children we walked out 150yds and still only up to our middles .
We will return a great holiday.

Submitted By: Mr I D PoleySTAFF - Numerous staff were friendly and helpful but beware of Nikos JUNIOR. He's an absolute pain in the neck. He collared us on our second night to ask us to go to the hotel's Greek night, we didn't go, and as a result he was rude for the rest of our holiday.
If you want to spend your whole holiday in the hotel (i.e. an all inclusive) you'll have a whale of a time, if you want to just get away from it all and be left to your own devices, this is not the place to go as Nikos wants EVERYONE to laugh at all his jokes and join in HIS entertainment. Nikos has his favourites i.e. his adoring fans who've been there before, and let's just say he looks after them!
LOCATION - Ideal position about 200 yards from the main tourist part of Roda. Cracking views towards Albania.

Submitted By: Mr Allan WilkesYou need to book early for this hotel as so many people return constantly. I will be returning this September to meet up with Dimitris, Nickos, Costas, and the rest of the Coral team. This hotel is highly recommended as is the village of Roda.

Submitted By: Mrs M BeynonThe rooms are of a minimal nature but with the break taking scenery surrounding you what more could you need. The bars and restaurants are only a stone's throw away but make sure you stay at the Hotel for Greek Night – it’s a must!!
Speaking as someone with leg issues, it is ideal for anyone who cannot get around too well as the majority of Roda is pretty flat. We are already trying to book for next year. Make sure you ask Niko behind the bar for one of his cocktails!!

Submitted By: Miss Claire CharltonThe bathroom was as good as any British hotel and there was a plentiful supply of hot water. Air conditioning was an extra 50 euros for 2 weeks and worth every penny. Coral is situated near to all restaurants in Roda and is about a ten minute walk to sandy beaches.
Corfu is very hilly and the walks to the beaches are quite hilly. Once on the beach there are beach tavernas for snacks or a sit down lunch. We all had a fab holiday and would definitely return to Coral Hotel if/when we next holiday in Corfu. Claire July 2005.

Submitted By: Mr Steve AndersonThe food was fine even for me who is one of the fussiest eaters going. The bar was fine I had no problems getting drinks or getting served. I could always get a sun lounger and did not have to get up at the crack of dawn.
I will be going back providing I can get booked and would recommend anyone else to do so.

Submitted By: Ms En AdamsThis place is ideal if your checking out the sights in Corfu as a central location. It's not a luxurious hotel nor does it claim to be but is very clean and comfortable at extremely reasonable rates for a Greek Island and the hospitality was tremendous. Well recommended.

Submitted By: Mr G. ProringtonProbably the best bits of this hotel are the outdoor areas. The pool area is nice, the pool itself is clean.
The balcony had beautiful bright pink flowers draping over it, all the apartments look out towards the sea or the mountains and the lovely garden. The area around the apartments was so clean and well kept. There is direct access to each apartment from outside, which is lovely.
The hotel has very light and airy and spacious. Such a wonderful change from hotels with dark corridors!
There are all the facilities you need to enjoy your stay. Snack bar by the pool - the food is simple and good, excellent value for money.
Restaurant with Greek food and very good quality. A little expensive compared to other restaurants in the area but at least what I ate there was fresh not like the food I had in a restaurant on the beach of Roda itself.
There is a bar which will stay open as long as you want to drink, 24 hour reception, safety deposit boxes, exchange and fans for hire. There is pool and some video games.
The rooms are basic but adequate. Most importantly they are clean. There is air conditioning .
The hotel is ideally located for the village centre, but in a very quiet area with a stunning view of the beach. You can use a little shortcut down a track at the front of the hotel, it's about a 5 minute stroll into the heart of the village.
I would definitely recommend the Iris to anybody who is not too concerned with having a basic room, I think it's value for money that cant be beaten!!!

The Coral has been refurbished in the main part of the building and is excellent, but the rear accommodation block is due to be refurbished ready for 2009 and it badly needs doing. Greek plumbing is never good but we did get fed up of lukewarm showers, toilet cisterns not filling and generally a very sad looking bathroom. The bedlinen and towels had also seen better days but I am sure these will be replaced once the rooms are refurbished.
The most disappointing part was Breakfast with tinned peaches every morning and sometimes two, three at the most, cereals, toast and marmalade, chocolate spread and cake. The fruit juice was watery too.
Having said that, in the main restaurant the evening meals were superb and we ate in there several times. The "Special Menu" was exceptionally good value with three courses for around 13 euros.
The pool was small but had plenty of sunbeds and there is a small bar too, with a very friendly barman. In fact all the staff were friendly and very helpful, nothing was too much trouble for any of them. The hotel is family run with father and son both working there, helped by lively bar staff.
There was a Greek night on the Thursday and this was good fun, but we did not spend too much time in the bar other than that, although those who go on holiday for the booze seemed to spend a lot of time in there. Oh and there was a large screen tv in the bar but if you wanted to avoid this there was a more leisurely lounge area just beyond the bar area, which was very comfortable. A book exchange held a good selection of books too.
If you want a relaxing holiday in a quiet resort then Roda is ideal, there is plenty of variety for those who want traditional Greek or prefer something more English. If you want a holiday spent watching football and drinking in English bars and eating fish and chips, then you will find this in Roda but there is also lots for those of us who are more discerning! Roda did offer something for everyone. We ate at the Roda Park restaurant which is on a side street off the main sea front, the food was traditional Greek and was excellent value.
We hired a car, but do shop around as prices vary greatly. If you prefer not to drive there are excursions to interesting places, even to Albania, or if you just want a quiet relaxing break you can spend the time in Roda quite happily.
When the Coral has been totally refurbished no doubt the prices will increase, but it is a place we would certainly consider revisiting. It is quiet and ideally situated, but not a place for children or young people wanting a riotous time, more suited to couples looking for a peaceful holiday.
